      @@SurreyEZ I might be alone in this, but I kinda like the extra challenge of the free units. The game is far less predictable as a result. Though I am also _le garbage_ at the game, so my opinion counts for very little.

    Hi Surrey! Thx for you videos. Could you pls describe deeper how do you evaluate the tarting spec? It often seems you don't like any of them :)

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  3 місяці тому +3

      have to make a video about them at some point! But firstly, I prioritize chaff and try to pick an economy specialist. I also don't like to start with sledges because of their inflexibility. But sledge starts are very good though.

    Ggs man well played. When you play cost control why don't you use the 10% attack and armor upgrades? Feels like it'd have a lot of value once u get a lot of deploys down

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  3 місяці тому +2

      I think you want to build a comp that counters the enemy and all the money is usually needed. And usually I have a comp where stats don't matter that much. So I have a habit of not upgrading them because of that. But sometimes later on in the game they are for sure just +value and I sometimes forget about them

    6:00 you got offered subsidized storms against marksmen, and chose skip. Was that decision just because you hyperfixated on boats or do you think that adding your own storms is not good enough here? Due to speed spec?

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  3 місяці тому +2

      yea my plan was to go boat and i need a frontline for it. Storm is ok here i think but my lineup is a bit awkward, it's hard to fit the storms in good positions and he already has crawlers protecting the right side

  • @cubandarknez

    yeah after most recent patch there is actual counter play to boats, have been doing forts over boats 80% of the time now.

    i found it so interesting you never leveled up those boats in game 4 , obviously you didn't need to in the end but thats the kind of thing my low mmr ass would fall for.

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  2 місяці тому +1

      yea I think your first instinct should be to not to level anything, and when you level there should be a reason to do so

    • @BuzzaB77
      @BuzzaB77 2 місяці тому +1

      @@SurreyEZ I presumed the reason would be to snowball your existing advantage, ahead of them trying to counter what's already clearly successful for you. But i understand your pov more now, if the units aren't dying or struggling to kill, giving them more stats is a committing into a presumption of the opponent making a counter move which they might not do. thus a waste.

  • @Azmodael
    @Azmodael 3 місяці тому

    I don't think you lost game 6 because of the boat nerf specifically. He had a better position on land - those HE stormcallers obliterated all of you fangs instantly at the start and the typhoons dealt with what remained. The biggest nerf to boats is the photon nerf imho. Boats were strong just because they were a reliable source of photon and because photon crawlers were unavailable with ranged damage.

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  3 місяці тому +1

      I just forced the comp because in my experience (from previous patches) the comp wins here. So I didn't even try to counter what my opponent was doing

    some of these games feel like 300 mmr games. Chalice straight up refusing to build a single unit that counters overlords. no melting points no ranged phoenix. not even snipers. just completely refuses to answer them and just does nothing the entire game. doesnt evne take the fire to get a free win against crawlers and stuff....

    Always supposed to see you not upgrading units. Not like it’s a good idea to, I just mean like not upgrading things at all it seems. I guess more units are just better?

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  3 місяці тому +2

      Yea more units is better. But the general thinking behind is that if you build one unit, the enemy will counter it. Then when you upgrade it, the counter is still there in a good position so now you sink more money to a unit that's countered. Many units also one shot enemy units so upgrading them is just more overkill. Same with health, more health sometimes still means your units get one shot. Or it opens you up to some counters. For example scorpions are bad vs lev1 sledges, vs lev2-3 sledges they are excellent.
