watching Surrey Mecabellum/RAT games are the best Mechabellum games that i most enjoy. RAT's cool calm narration and commentary are better for learning from for guys like myself who are lower MMR. thankyou RAT!
HE mustangs never work from me. I absolutely love wraiths though. Crawlers rush in so the natural long range wraith counters don't work properly, because the wraith sits in place.
I do HE mustang and sell my first pack or only have 1 pack of them so they actually level to 3. Once they're level 3 they feel like old level 2 mustangs at least.
I'm much lower MMR than you, I float from 1300-1400, but I never get crawlers to work lol. Always get shut down by vulcans or fire one way or another. Do you only try crawlers with elite spec? I reckon having lvl 2 crawlers right away allows them to survive early stangs or arclights better, but him being a giant spec, i was confused why he didn't put down vulcans sooner.
no, I play them with everything, with elite you can go a little bit harder. The thing with crawlers is that you can build a lot of them in the backline and once they are completely "countered" they just become late chaff and are still very useful. And you always win the rounds when you tech your crawlers. They are not easy to use though, but they have a huge role in every comp
@@SurreyEZ i still use them as chaff for sure, i just typically only grab replicate, and once I do that, the opponent typically switches into a hard counter and I don't bother putting more tech on them unless I have a level or two on them, then i might grab tunneling or mech rage. Your aggressive positioning probably makes the biggest difference though, which is a playstyle i need to get better at.
if you click the AA the enemy will just sell the wraith and use some other way to deal with the crawlers. Need to wait for him to build a tech for them or buy more of them so he cant get out of them anymore
you always say starting specs are garbage i feel, what do you look for most when picking spec? Units/spec themself please let me know, im new and learning
well here for example cost control and aerial are ok but I value flexibility and would like to have better options :) I don't for example like sledgehammer starts although they are pretty strong. But they don't fit my playstyle. I want to see economy specialists + crawlers
The introduction of the free units was a very big mistake. They alone destroyed the core game and didn't introduce almost anything positive. It modified the base game a lot and made it too random and too complex on certain turns. And introduced counter intuitive effects like doing nothing for 2 turns because you need to see the unit drop before you unlock. If they want to go into this kind of direction (which i wouldn't like but maybe some people would) it could be done for example with seasons with seasonal effects added to the base game (like free units). Then change it up for the next season. But now if you try to add another effect on top of the free units it's gonna too much everytime (because the game is now balanced around the free units and its part of the base game). But now we are here and to make the free units better they should be shown earlier to the opponent. Like pick the unit round 4, then you receive it round 5 and the enemy sees on round 5 what you picked (like with rhino spec, you see the rhino standing in the helicopter pad). Or something like that. There's many situation during the game where you need to guess what the enemy picks and if you guess wrong you lose the game
@@SurreyEZ Not that it really matters but I disagree... as someone who plays lots of card games and auto battlers, they all boil down to most (not all) of the top players or people trying to be top players just using google to find the best deck of card, or best autobattle strat... this is referred to as "net decking" and has plagued card games since the dawn of time. The random units combat net decking and is a welcome addition

It's a blast from the past featuring some old school Mechabellum players !

thankyou RAT!
Hi rat! The animated rat you use in your videos is great, just wanted to put that out there. Greetings from Dr. Nuke
completely agree mate, the cartoon rat is great!

ye he mustang not good
@@SurreyEZ High Explosive Wasp used to be something with Steelball tho, Wasp having higher base damage, it's less stinky on them.

I love the way you say things. Are you from Finland or Hungary?

Question wouldn't AA on 1-2 Marksman have dealt with the Wraith and won you the match much earlier?

@@SurreyEZ Thanks for the insight. Makes sense when you put it in that light.

got it. makes sense. So if you had cost control or supply spec with crawlers its an instant pick for you? thanks for responding!@@SurreyEZ
Great video! Do u think there should be another mmr queue without unit drops? Or is there another way to make the game feels less random

You make a strong point here. Do you have any contact with the devs ? I think they might listen to you.

I thought the 'catch phrase' of this channel was "holy moly" but it's fast becoming "what the f is this garbage"
