The new Avatar game is a disgrace

- Avatar the Last Airbender is a great show built upon a great story, great characters, great actors, and even greater character development. This show spans decades now and is just as popular as ever.
Recently Avatar the Last Airbender: The Quest for Balance launched with great silence. No one was excited for this game and no one was happy with the result. Me included.
I wanted to take a look at this game and also the older games from this franchise and thus this video was made.

This game feels 20 years out of time. Someone needs to tell these executives that budget cash grabs are no longer the norm for licensed IP games.
Hopefully with the new studio and future shows/movies we'll finally get the Avatar game we deserve.
If I could have any Avatar game I wanted. It would be an MMO with at least 6 classes Earth Bender, Water Bender, Fire Bender, Air Bender, Warrior, and Artificer. They could center the story around time travel, so we could go to any of the Avatar Eras at any time while dealing with one overarching enemy that is also traveling between time periods trying to mess things up.
Kind of like a Dragon Ball Xenoverse, but MMO Open World. I can dig that kind of game.
No please no time travel..... it will create plot holes no matter what. Also i'd rather have an Avatar game just focusing on 1 time period and fleshing this one out instead of having multiple ones but only scratching the surface. Quality over quantity. As DLCs or sequels ok, but having games overbloated with planned content killed so many game releases, indie and AAA industry alike.
@@LegioXXI The problem with focusing on just one era is that the era everyone would want to see is during the 100 year war, which wouldn't have air benders, and the Fire Nation are the bad guys with only a very small number of Fire Nation rebels.
Maybe the era of Kyushi might work, since she is one of the longest living Avatars at 250. That gives a lot of room to work with even after applying all of the novels content. The main issue here is a lack of technology and possibly enemy verity, since he main enemy was the Earth Nation.
A big reason I want to see time travel is because it grants the most amount of freedom. If they set the start of the game in the distant future, they could have all kinds of technology they could use as equipment, maybe even gear that lets non-benders bend, and normal benders bend extra elements. And you can still have self enclosed stories that are locked to each of the eras, but you aren't locked into any given one.
Obliviously time travel stories tend to have plot holes, but generally plot holes are a problem for complete stories, MMORPGs never finish, and can always go back to address these things later, if they're important enough.

I dont understand why nobody hasnt just taken assassins creed, god of war, horizon, spiderman, and hogwarts legacy as inspiration to make an open world high quality next gen worthy rpg of avatar😂 it makes no sense is it a budget reason? I have no idea.
I'm thinking Nickelodeon wanted a quick cash grab. But give me an Assassin's Creed Origins style open world with Hogwarts Legacy mechanics and I would play that game forever.
it would be better if they just made and open world avatar game where they based it on the show or were tou can create your own character and choose the life style of being either an air nomad live amongst the earth kingdom and learning new skills or be in the fire nation and exploring the world getting new outfits and such and having a skill tree in learning new bending techniques or we're you live life normally or where you slowly find out your the avatar and having an rpg setting where your actions have consiquences in what you do by either saving the world or having choices like having bad endings and good endings as like how hogwarts legacy has it where u can roam around hogwarts and the world build up your magic skills and i feel it'd work with avatar the last airbender to be a open world kinda vibe and make your character and choose a life style of air water earth or fire and you can explore each city town village or temple and such would be cool and each nation has a different looking skill tree and different unique outfits and customization idk cuz games like that r becoming more popular so i feel they should work on that more
i played the avatar the last airbender game for wii (like the og one) and it was pretty good :3
The show is amazing. This gane tho... sigh. They had the cutscenes somewhat alright. The animation style and looks-wise is pretty accurate. Gameplay tho needs a serious makeover. It plays like games during the PS1 era. It needs to play like something from current-gen era. An open world Avatar game would do so much good if they put in effort towards it.
An open world Avatar game would be amazing to play. If only Nickelodeon can see the gaming potential with this series.
Subbed, my favorite show of all time, great video, I think a game like Hogwarts Legacy would be great, able to use Aang's glider whenever we want too, the air scooter, get all 3 books, each episode of it within the game, I'd pay for that and love every minute of it! 💯😃
Wow, an Avatar game with the attention to detail that Hogwarts Legacy got would be my ideal game. Having different elements be the different spells and as you mentioned the glider plus having different mounts to ride would be quite the game.
@@ChunnyKay Exactly, if we want we can recreate the fight scene's from the series, at least as close to one -for one, with the free form combat system, and triggering certain moves from the show at points in the fight, it's be fire! 😱🤯

If you make a game feel like diet devil my cry,
and marvel ultimate alliance,
that was in-between fun and simple and semi complex,
a game for kids but also a decent fun game for teens and up,
that what makes a well balance game.
to simple is just boring, and being old fashion with out some spice or have kind of twist modern take with it, also gonna get stale.
They made the game for new kids, base on to simple mobile or mobile arcade games, that are lesser complex gameplay.
So the new Avatar isn't E and up and teens game. It just a kid's game.
Even Mario 64 was more complex for a "kids" game.
I'd rather just play the Dreams Fan Adaptation from Elca Gaming.
