Simply put, if Mbappe isn't playing PSG are mudded. No offense to the goat Messi or my personal favourite player ever Neymar, but Mbappe is hard carrying PSG. Especially obvious in the PSG-Bayern match
If PSG wants to win a UCL they must get rid of that poor defense and that poor excuse of goalkeeper, you can't just always rely on the goat trio (Mbappe, Messi and Neymar)
@@luckymark571 How is he overrated in anyway, he can't play the same way in PSG as he can in Argentina because PSG is built for Mbappe and makes Messi work harder and drop deeper that he can at 35. He's still one of the best players in the world just for different reasons, PSG is just not the team for him. Might I add he literally just played a decisive role in winning the world cup, how the hell is he overrated???
I'd like to add to your statement, first of all Mbappe was very poor in the game against Bayern, I can literally count the amount of times he touched the ball in single digits so I'm not sure what the latter part of your comment meant. Second of all Mbappe is not carrying the team, rather the team is built around him so obviously when he's not there they struggle to find goals. It seems they attack more through the wings and their wingbacks like to overlap which is fine but in my opinion players like Ney and Messi don't work best in that environment. So it's not their fault they can't carry PSG, if you look at how they played on their national teams I think you'll see there's a vast difference but obviously PSG is built for Mbappe which is fair enough. I also think Mbappe is one of the last players I would want to rely on, rather I would want to optimise him. What I mean is he's apparently very easy to shut out of a game, (WC final and this Bayern game for example) and when his team isn't working for him there's not much he's doing. He doesn't drop deep, doesn't track back and if someones not feeding him the ball he's probably not doing anything. HOWEVER that doesn't make him a bad player because when his team is working for him he is able to utilise his pace and power closer to the box. (I still think he needs to have a cooler head when finishing but maybe I'm wrong and maybe it's something that comes with more experience). Basically PSG are only screwed without Mbappe because their sole attack is built around him, the midfield is average (relative to other top sides) so immediately one of your best players (Messi) is going to struggle cause he's 35 and can't make runs like he used to. For me what they need is a new manager and to build the team to be an actual cohesive unit rather than just a collection of star players.

I honestly feel bad for the actual pre-Qatar PSG fans. Sure, PSG are nonetheless a very young club, but imagine seeing your club that had a more than decent spell in Europe at some time (around the 90s if I'm not mistaken?) be used as nothing more than a marketing tool for a fucking government as scummy as Qatar's; there honestly cannot be a worse feeling for a football fan. Sure, they may win Ligue 1 pretty much every year but at what cost? They know they sold their souls to the devil and eventually Qatar is gonna get fed up and sell the club. But what happens after? Back to mid-table or retain at least some of the popularity (for bad or good reasons) they've built over the years to not go in a free fall? Really sad to see a club and its true fans be done so dirty like this
I can't believe Maqwell just glossed over the fact they lost top of the group to Benfica due to a last minute goal (I know he covered it before but it's still such an impressive achievement)
As a Parisian allow me to bring more context into the recent events. Campos has been doing a terrible job so far, it's gotten so bad some fans even miss Leonardo, of all his signings only Mukiele has been satisfactory. Soler, Renato and Ruiz are complete flops and Vitinha has been very inconsistent (not to mention the whole "no more bling bling" gimmick has already been tried in 2016, you should check out our transfer window back then, all of them hilariously flopped and it became a meme for us.) The Nasser case is completely unrelated to the club, rather a personal issue with Tayeb allegedly trying to blackmail the Emir for millions of euros. As for Hakimi, nobody knows what happened yet but there's confidence on his side that he is innocent, we will know more in a few.
Essay incoming: As a fellow Parisian, I feel so many fans think they're upset at Campos for signings this year when they're actually mad at Leonardo. Campos was far from perfect this year but Leonardo's past spending greatly limited our capacity to make signings this year. Six signings in, 18+ players out... Campos brought in four midfielders, a right back, and a striker, and only paid more than €23m for Vitinha. None of their wages are more than €10m/year. He got rid of Gini, Navas, Kalimuendo, Kehrer, Areola, Sarabia, Gueye, Draxler, Bulka, Diallo, Rafinha, Icardi, Paredes, etc. Campos took 15+ unwanted players and miraculously shipped them out, saving about €100m on the wage bill. Despite this and only a few signings, FFP wouldn't let us spend more than €20m to get Skriniar in the winter. We were completely handicapped by the "legion of loft". Leonardo increased our wage bill/revenue ratio from a healthy 75% before his second stint to 109% in his last season. That is asking for major FFP sanctions, Campos is frugal enough to where he's already reduced some of the damage, wage bill is down 20% already and it's only going to continue that way It is incredible Campos was able to loan and sell so many of those guys, nearly all of which are flopping at clubs like Everton & West Ham. We're still covering half of many of their wages while they're gone, as that's the only way we could offload them. Still paying €50m+ on wages for players who aren't in Paris (because they're unsellable) is the primary reason we could not make the Skriniar & Ziyech signings. If you think you're mad at Campos, look at this like a businessperson and you'll see who's really at fault. Campos is a proven genius. He and Galtier saving Lille from relegation, spending nearly no money while selling their best players each year, and subsequently placing 2nd, 4th, and 1st in Ligue 1 (then topping their UCL group) is not accidental. Keep the faith, allez Paris
@@ethanparker324 While I get where you’re coming from, i respectfully disagree and here’s an essay of my own to explain my reasoning. Campos owes all that offloading to Antero Henrique who Nasser brought back for that specific purpose and Campos scapegoated for his own failures. He brought four midfielders, a RB, a striker, but for what? None of those players are even upgrades on the players he let go, nevermind good enough for PSG. Soler is the worst player to wear a PSG shirt since Jesé, Ekitike’s profile doesn’t match any of our needs, Vitinha is inconsistent, Ruiz is piss poor compared to Paredes who at least showed up in big games, the only satisfaction is Mukiele. Don’t get me started on the winter fiasco with Ziyech and Skriniar (choosing to go for them in the dying hours of the January window) He was given 150 mil to spend last summer and none of his transfers are better than 17 year old Zaire-Emery from the academy. I would have much preferred he brought us less quantity but more quality, someone like Casemiro or De Jong, true World Class players. The whole "no bling bling" gimmick has done this club more harm than good, and our actual good players always take the blame for it (not to mention our complete inability to replace them once they’re gone like Motta, Thiago Silva, Matuidi, Di Maria, etc). It’s a simple equation, good manager + good players = good team Our best season happens under Tuchel, a good manager, with a good crop of players (bar a few positions), there’s no secrets.
Those who needs to know who the 2016 crops were: Ben Arfa, Meunier, Lo Celso, Krychowiak, Jese, Guedes, Draxler. Also losing Zlatan and a surging David Luiz, nbd...
The Hakimi incident will probably be swept under the rug, or they will pay off the victim to keep silent, like many others footballers who have been accused of r@pe have done before.
It's peanuts compare to the most recent allegations surrounding the club, but there was also the Mbappe drama before the WC were he supposedly wanted to leave PSG ASAP due to unfulfilled promises.
So I had a thought. I think it would be really cool to see a video essay on 2017 Real Madrid, since that predates the time I started watching soccer and hearing about a team like that in maxwells style would be great
Something tells me that after this video, psg will slap bayern 3-0 in Munich, win the champions league and the league, and be the most perfectly run club in the history of the world ever Edit: fuk I thought maxwell was going to jinx it, disregard everything I just said

@@artdestroyer his vision and game IQ makes him better than all of the other players. He knows how to create chances and make space for goals if the team actually gives the ball to him...that's why he should be captain for other players to listen to his tactics.
@@AnkaraMessi-p8g that’s fair, but messi is gonna soon leave psg, so it would be a waste of time to make him the captain for one or two seasons. it takes time to build chemistry between players, so a change of captain would only worsen the process in the long run

I'm a lifelong supporter & contributor on PSG Talk (you used a photo from our website at the beginning of the video) and while I normally disagree with many of Maqwell's takes on my club, he mostly nailed the first 4 minutes of this video other than being with everyone who assumes Mbappe runs the show here. The large contract clearly symbolized that he's the head of the sporting project for good, not Neymar-hence why we tried to sell Neymar right after the extension, because Campos is frugal and has desperately tried to lower the wage bill and clean up Leonardo's mess of signing aging players to big contracts and increasing our player wage bill from a sustainable 250m/year to something like 400m in just two seasons. I also love the Henni video at 3:42 lmao. If Hakimi and Nasser are guilty then they need to get the hell out, unacceptable behavior. I've long been #QSIOut, I'd trade having average finances to not be the center of a sportwashing regime that knows nothing about football. It may not look like it but we're in a better spot than last season. The squad is slightly better than Poch's team of 2021-22 and we're on a path back to financial stability. We'll try and sell the deadwood/loft players this summer and bring in a few younger native Parisians that will fight for the badge. We were something like 15th in transfer spending this year but are still 5th in the world since the 2014-15 season, moving in the right direction. One or two of MNM should go, otherwise, FFP is going to bring the hammer down on us this summer. Allez Paris, demain L'Europe sera rouge et bleu
Mbappé even Said that this was PSG maximum. He is the only difference maker against teams that are considered the best in Europe. Hin saying this should be a reality check for the club once and for all. Him and Messi were shut down last wedensday so PSG were only heading back to Ligue 1. Sacking Tuchel mid season 2021 was the downfall of PSG. He was the only one to bring PSG in the top 4 in two CL seasons
lol going to the cops and telling them she was victim of a public crime and refusing to press charges is the most dirty move I have seen. What the fuck does she want then?
Not gonna lie I would've only wanted PSG to win a CL just so Neymar could get his 2nd and the trophy he sought after for so long. Unfortunately with PSG being PSG, it's probably not gonna happen any time soon. At least Chelsea are still in it
The problem with PSG is simple. It’s being run as an elementary school. PSG gave a 23 year old kid MBappe, decision power. After renewing contract with him, they sacked almost all Latin American players, including their best goalkeeper. Leaving PSG midfield and defense weak.
If PSG wants to win a UCL they must get rid of that poor defense (except Sergio Ramos) and that poor excuse of goalkeeper, you can't just always rely on the goat trio (Mbappe, Messi and Neymar). They also need to improve the midfield.

He was given 150 mil to spend last summer and none of his transfers are better than 17 year old Zaire-Emery from the academy.
It’s a simple equation, good manager + good players = good team
Our best season happens under Tuchel, a good manager, with a good crop of players (bar a few positions), there’s no secrets.

Who’s here after psg lost 3-0 to Bayern💀
That scoreline was on aggregate, not just a single game.
It’s aggregate. It was 2-0 for Bayern
that's easily the best use of the Kyle Busch "everything's great" clip
Next psg signing, if we can't buy him we'll kidnap him
glad I chose not to become a PSG fan while living here in Paris 🙏🙏🙏

1:50 202021? So he came from the future!! 😂
psg kinda silly
F**kin hell why tf isnt this on the news or sumthin
Love the Kyle Busch phoenix interview at the end
Hmm guys I think I have a problem in my youtube account, it recommends me this exact video title every year....
Gotta love the KFB clip at the end
Marseille when they have expectations:
It's peanuts compare to the most recent allegations surrounding the club, but there was also the Mbappe drama before the WC were he supposedly wanted to leave PSG ASAP due to unfulfilled promises.
6:15 Kyle Busch fits in well with many memes
Everything Is Great with this meme
An appropriate song for PSG, "Paris is Burning" by Dokken. 😆
The Kyle Busch meme at the end is the best way to sum it all up.
So I had a thought. I think it would be really cool to see a video essay on 2017 Real Madrid, since that predates the time I started watching soccer and hearing about a team like that in maxwells style would be great
Choupo-Goating
Something tells me that after this video, psg will slap bayern 3-0 in Munich, win the champions league and the league, and be the most perfectly run club in the history of the world ever
Edit: fuk I thought maxwell was going to jinx it, disregard everything I just said
i wish
Not happening

You’ve become one of my favourite football channels over the last few weeks. Man like Maqwell!!! (The neymar sister DOB finished me 😂)
maqwell will litterally make any football video except one about la liga.
Comparing both PSG and Man City is like night and day minus the money spending. On one hand, Man City has found their structure with Pep (even though he mismanages in the most hilarious way. PSG? They are the French Galácticos and not in a good way
I feel like while both clubs aren’t shy in splashing cash, City are much better at making key signings.
Im here just waiting for Maqwell review on Arsenal's recent fixtures
same
What you are saying is not the main issue. The issue psg has is weak midfield with an aging defence
seeing my boy kyle busch in a psg vid never woulda thought lmao
babe wake up maqwell posted
psg players don't utilize players to their best. like messi, he should've been captain instead of mbappe tbh, but yk, its PARIS saint germain...
explain why messi should be captain? it makes no sense
@@artdestroyer true, but I thought that PSG would finally make Messi captain after his WC debut in 2022....
I’m just ready to get back into my race car
PSG went the FIFA route with their acquisitions the past few years when they needed to go the FM route.
i love psg bro they are *THE* banter club
made me laugh icl because of how true it is
Daaaaaaamn beating HITC7s to the punch
Wasn’t expecting a PSG-KFB crossover but I ain’t mad
I don't think they'll win champions league until they get pep Klopp or Ancelotti and get rid of some dead weight I think swapping Ney for Oshimen or Lautaro would be for the best and maybe 1 or 2 better midfielders Rice Bellingham or see what Modric can give u for one last season
The city of Paris and all the ile de France région who is the biggest hot bed of talents in football right now deserve better than this circus club
Hot bed !!?

Allez Paris, demain L'Europe sera rouge et bleu
title should be "what the psg happening in hell"
Yo u got a playlist for the songs you play at the beginning for like 3 seconds?
PSG without Neymar is going downhill
Literally Neymar's worst decision ever was going to PSG, they don't deserve him.
Maxwell is gonna fucking jinx it again
Thank God Leo won the World Cup already
Mbappé even Said that this was PSG maximum. He is the only difference maker against teams that are considered the best in Europe. Hin saying this should be a reality check for the club once and for all. Him and Messi were shut down last wedensday so PSG were only heading back to Ligue 1. Sacking Tuchel mid season 2021 was the downfall of PSG. He was the only one to bring PSG in the top 4 in two CL seasons
They just lost 2-0 💀
completely unrelated but omg where did u get that shirt (we heart anri)
lol going to the cops and telling them she was victim of a public crime and refusing to press charges is the most dirty move I have seen. What the fuck does she want then?

Will you be working on a Barcelona vid? They got charged for continued corruption
The Medfield you know you have a serious problem when a centerback like ramos is the one carrying the ball forward for the attacker
Damn I was hoping for a Manchester United video ;)
smoking that P$G pacc 🔥
The woman said that hakimi chased her but he couldn't catch her , he's the fastest fullback in the world was he chasing mbappe ?
This is good.
6:15 KFB!!😂🔥
where did you get that tshirt????????????????????????????????????? good video btw
MOMMMMMMM NEW MAQWELL VIDEOOOOOOOOO
Hilarity, that's what's happening.
Did man just say "202021?x
If PSG wants to win a UCL they must get rid of that poor defense (except Sergio Ramos) and that poor excuse of goalkeeper, you can't just always rely on the goat trio (Mbappe, Messi and Neymar). They also need to improve the midfield.
Should get rid of Neymar and Messi too. Messi clearly doesn't care and Neymar is the flakiest player on the planet
PSG is just like the England of European football 😂
