    my professor want us to evaluate a product for shell and tube condenser . Temp. in/out for fluid is given, but then what is the use of sub.cooling?

      what is condensing capacity? is it the Q for the 2 medium/fluid?

      Cc = mcCp'
      ,mc=mass for cold (water) if you are given volume flow rate (m=volume*density of water)
      ,Cp= for water (base on Tmean = (Tinlet for water + Toutlet for water)/2))
      Ch = mhCp
      ,mh = mass of hot fluid (oil,gas etc..)
      ,Cp = for hot fluid base on Tmean

    What is 'U' in NTU expression
    I have NTU= (S*hg)/((mc)min)
    S is the convective heat exchange area
    hg= the global coefficient of the convective heat exchanging

      Ismail TRIKI "U" is the Overall Heat Transfer Coefficient. NTU = UA/Cmin

    Very helpful tutorial. How can I use eff-NTU method if I know only two temperatures (Th,o and Tc,i) and effectiveness = 0.8?
