Hell yeah. I'm a bit old school, I'd rather a DVD of their covers and their own material. No offence to UA-cam or anyone else. At least then I've got it forever.
I have loved this song as long as I can remember....40plus years lol! I follow First Aid Kit, obviously. I appreciate their unique style and clever lyrics! When they started singing THE GAMBLER, I started sobbing and could not stop through out the entire song. The ladies out did themselves! I am sure Kenny is proud!
Here’s what I can’t understand: These two sisters from Sweden, too young to remember Kenny Rogers or Emmylou Harris in their respective heydays, understand on a cellular level the essence of American country music better than most Americans do. How the HELL is that possible? (Not that I’m complaining...please, ladies, keep up the good work.)
+Geoff Lilley In an interview with Rolling Stone, Klara and Johanna listed that one of their major musical influences was the original Carter Family. Anyone that familiar with the Carter Family will have a firm, deep, instinctual level of feeling and understanding about American Music, Folk, Country and otherwise!
No way they did a terrible version. The way they are singing it is too soft and mushy. This isn't a love song it's a story about a gambler. This is awful and they keep singing ahead of the music. Lol
Wish these beautiful and talented ladies would record a set of albums of all the cover songs they have ever recorded. Their incredible interpretation of the originals is really outstanding and their haunting harmonies are beyond compare.
Another marvelous cover by the Söderberg sisters. Only God knows how many jewels they have in their pockets. Have all their albums and had the pleasure to see them in concert in a small club in Hamburg twice. First time, it was a cold evening in September 2012 , I was waiting togheter with a friend in front of the venue, about two hours before the show, hoping to get the opportunity to talk to them, as suddenly Klara and Johanna rushed out of the main entrance, followed by their father and the drummer. They were only 10 feet away from us but we were both too starstruck to say anything and so they dissapeared into the dark. On one hand it was a sad moment because we missed the chance to talk to them on the other hand we can still laugh about the fact that two die hard Springsteen and Dylan fans became totally speechless in the presence of these young ladys. Anyway, as long as we all are patiently waiting for the new album and hopefully for a tour, we can count ourselves lucky that the girls provide us with such excellent covers like this.
I had a similar experience in November 2012 at The Ritz in Manchester. I was watching their support act and someone stood next to me. It took me a while to realise it was Klara. I was completely star struck. Someone dragged her away for a photo but she came back. I eventually plucked up the courage to ask for an autograph on my ticket stub, realised I had no pen but managed borrowed one...I felt an absolute idiot but she was utterly charming
Must admit it's a pretty talented bunch of performers on stage. The band and the girls has only rehearsed this for a couple of hours since it's a one off in a TV game show. The tucked in song in the beginning is part of the quiz.
Sweden: "What music is the very essence of your country?" "Thanks. Now watch us cover it in a way that is both completely new and faithful to the original."
I can restart this song a hundred thousand times, right as the host sagt deinem spielen... And get goosebumps at different points each and every restart..
Despite their beautiful individual voices, for me the song starts with their harmonies, at "if you're gonna play the game, boy". Rest in peace, Kenneth Ray Rogers.
I dont know what fairy dust was sprayed on them at birth but they have magic in those voices, karma, talent, sensitivity...who knows? Brilliant comes in many forms !
Such a fantastic cover. I remember listening to the original when I was about six on my dads radio. Couple of years ago I heard this cover. Simply fantastic🐺👍
these 2 young ladies are so good that a tune like this one by Kenny Rogers, which I personally can't stand, sounds good when performed by these 2 talented women. I've seen them perform Emmy Lou to Led Zeppelin and all I can say is BRAVO!!!!
This is a swedish quiz program where the participants answer questions based on geographic locations. Before they began to sing there were a question to these song, about something that had a connection to that geographic location and song :)
On a warm summer's evening On a train bound for nowhere I met up with a gambler We were both too tired to sleep So we took turns a-starin' Out the window at the darkness The boredom overtook us And he began to speak He said, "Son, I've made a life Out of readin' people's faces And knowin' what the cards were By the way they held their eyes. So if you don't mind my sayin' I can see you're out of aces For a taste of your whiskey I'll give you some advice." So I handed him my bottle And he drank down my last swallow Then he bummed a cigarette And asked me for a light And the night got deathly quiet And his face lost all expression Said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy, You gotta learn to play it right. You got to know when to hold 'em, Know when to fold 'em, Know when to walk away, And know when to run. You never count your money When you're sittin' at the table. There'll be time enough for countin' When the dealing's done. Every gambler knows That the secret to survivin' Is knowin' what to throw away And knowin' what to keep. 'Cause every hand's a winner, And every hand's a loser, And the best that you can hope for Is to die in your sleep." And when he finished speakin' He turned back toward the window Crushed out his cigarette And faded off to sleep And somewhere in the darkness The gambler he broke even And in his final words I found an ace that I could keep

I seriously get goose bumps every single time I listen to these ladies.
Amazing. I wish they'd make a CD of their covers. They're all so amazing.

Soft cock
You can see the joy upon nailing the final harmony

Absolutely goosebump inducing! Wonderful!

I’m sure they would bring a tear to Kenny’s eyes. These very talented girls never cease to amaze me! Another gem here.
I loved these 2 before I even knew this existed. Now I love them even more. I love this song
So I stumbled on these girls two nights ago. And haven't stopped clicking on video after video. I love the original, but damn this is awesome!
Todd Taylor They need to do a half-time show for a Gators game and the National Championship game. These ladies are tops.
Wish these beautiful and talented ladies would record a set of albums of all the cover songs they have ever recorded. Their incredible interpretation of the originals is really outstanding and their haunting harmonies are beyond compare.
Two angels singing, just one amazing performance,I really like this cover:)
I can never get enough of this version, so brilliant and catchy!

I liked Avicii!
Marvelous cover. Well done on so many fronts. You brought your own magic to this classic. Hats off. Lovely.

Just found this searching covers... I cried! Such an exquiste rendition! 45 year old man in the States no longer united...
Music tells us that there is God!
Hors later found Paddy's cover...exquisite... But these girls kill me softly...
The harmonies are heavenly.
brilliant.. simply brilliant. I lack words strong enough to express the magic that is First aid kit
Can’t believe I’ve never heard before. These sisters are amazing! I’ll be in Germany next year and would love to see them in concert.
The harmonizing at the end is spot on - damn, they're good!
Oh your lord ! They did , and will keep doing it again !!wow

Talent, edge and grace and all without the controversy and tackiness of many acts today.

First Aid Kit + Augustifamiljen = fulländning!
I love these two girls. Fantastic voices, and understand the music from years ago has influenced them. Pure class.
I dont know what fairy dust was sprayed on them at birth but they have magic in those voices, karma, talent, sensitivity...who knows? Brilliant comes in many forms !

Soo glad to Greatly Enjoy how youngsters keep up the Good Work so incredibly well..surrounded by huge talented musicians :-) xxx
Amazing cover. Absolutely my favorite now
voice of an angel
Regardless of their accent or elocution, their harmonies are divine.
Klara reminds me of a young Linda Ronstadt. If there were a movie of Linda’s life she could play the part.
Perhaps they should look into the songs of Warren Zevon. They might do them some justice....
@@Voelund That's a great idea for sure.
Magnificent ladies🙌🏻❤️
In Eric Cartmans voice, "popopo poker face popo poker face, nananana." I love the whole performance especially the intro.
omg they did it again
fz AA
Did you expect anything else but brilliance.
At the beginning, I was humming "Can't read my, can't read my poker face"...
its lady gaga - poker face in the beginning :)

I loved ths song when I was a little girl. Kenny Rogers had such a smooth voice. hehethe movie made him loveable. Good flick

Ett extra plus till Augustifamiljen som gör ett grymt jobb som husband i På Spåret!
Joakim Ekström Extrapolis?
John Henry Jones Plus skulle d ju vara. Tack!
Love the harmonizing!!
Please cover Bridge over troubled water & the Boxer.
Yess!! I’d be so overwhelmed to hear them sing those songs 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Beautiful
I love the 'poker face' intro. It's so apt for this track.
It’s often part of the music quiz questions in this game show - what other song has been weaved in, either as an intro or bridge.
Beautiful cover✔
Just blooming brilliant.
You can tell Johanna took the lead in this, finally
And an absolutely FAKtastic job she did!!!!!👏👏👏
RIP Kenny Rogers. Long live Kenny Rogers.
yes he picked a fine time to leave us...
Tack! Lägg gärna till den andra låten också!

Johanna är en av få i världshistorien som lyckas få sån där byxor att se bra ut.
Eller så blir jag bara förtrollad av talangen som vanligt :-)
Well l think these two are great... I hope they come to Manchester UK...
They’ve been several times! Last time earlier this year....

Who taught Tom Waites how to play drums?
Kenny Rogers had to of loved this... I want some roasted chicken now... made me think of his old fast food chain in the 90's...
WOW! Nice Cover. Its the same but different at the same time!
