Machine Learning Engineer: Day in the life | Learning MLOps on Databricks & balancing daily work

- Watch me try to balance taking a course to extend my MLOps skillset, a newly addictive gaming hobby (it was Factorio release week and I underestimated how distracted I would be), and my daily tasks as a machine learning engineer.
With this video, I wanted to show roughly what I'm learning in the area of MLOps (the link is below) and show realistic progress. Sometimes (most of the time), we don't understand something right away and it takes multiple times to finally set up the environment correctly and organize a good workflow between local dev and cloud environment etc.
... I would say I did "okay" 🙃
Disclaimer: I have very flexible work hours, as long as I work my ~40 hours per week and am available for meetings, it's all good - no, this is NOT the hours I work every day 😅
If you have any further questions, leave them down below :)

The course I'm taking (it's paid, so I recommend trying to get it reimbursed via your workplace): maven.com/marv... - next live cohort starts in January
Factorio (the game I kept playing): www.factorio.com/

working at home can be quite fine. But if you make a lot of long breaks then there is no real quitting-time (Feierabend). I prefer to have a fixed schedule: start at 8, have 1h break and stop at 5 in the afternoon.
Nice video 😄
Thank you 😊 gave my best to disguise my Factorio addiction in editing
👏🏽✨

Can u gave some ans of ques cz I m really confused...... currently n doing nothing cz of that here are some ques hope u can help 🥺....
1 - I m not confident so should I start with web dev or data analyst......I m thinking of going to play safe and go for web dev then dev ops data analyst...... Or it would be a bad decision n my time will waste ......
That's it the only thing is holding me is that ......
N if u can tell me in which way I should do it like wt I do first then after then after 🥲........if u can buy pls reply for the first question.....?
my youtube feeds always showing rich person daily life
😂 I’m sorry. Locally I’m not that rich but being able to work from home in tech is definitely a nice privilege and a comfortable position, that’s true 🙂
have u read any ML books?
Why you did transition from DS to ML??
I love data science, but I wanted to work more on the production side. I spent a lot of time building prototypes, which is exciting, but I also wanted to acquire the skills for bringing these models into production and making them “work in the real world” 😊 I also have a computer science background and found the engineering side of things very interesting, so this seemed like a logical progression (sorry this response sounded a lot like a job interview answer 😅)
@@GalaxyInfernoCodes Wow, thank you for your honest response.
I come from the middle of nowhere, swift major from economics to software engineer, just because of solve "the real-world problem" instead of building forecasting models.
Love see your videos, could you make a video about "From white papers to ML models"? That would be interesting. Appreciate all the hard work. Hope you'll have a nice day.
Me aspiring for data scientist 😅
it's been a long time
😬 yeah, I kind of got discouraged at some point and was in a bit of a rough place, but willing to give it another try to show authentically what the job can look like etc.
Be kind... I hope you succeed.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I know this is real day in life as does not include Gym session
😂 it instead included 3am gaming sessions, I promise this is as real as I dared to post online, my sleep was a mess and I probably would have fallen asleep in the gym
👏❤✨
