    These videos are truly phenomenal! It is so refreshing to see someone who really knows what they are talking about. Its so obvious that you know your stuff, and I'm soo so glad that you are doing this series! I've been trying for half a year now to learn the aspects of being a DJ on my own, but never before has there been such a comprehensive resource at my disposal. Thanks so much and don't stop!

    great videos. I really like the way you teach.
    I am using Macbook pro, Traktor s4 and software traktor aswell. I might be close to get my very first gig. Aside the equipment I mentioned will I need an audio interface ? would that make any sound quality or punch difference?

    great video! quick question, i am treating dj'ing as a hobby, finally buying an extremely basic controller (numark dj2go) would i need an audio interface like the one on the video or would a USB sound card work for now. (i am doing a small gig for some friends in 2 weeks and need a quick fix)

    I just wanna say thank you so much for this tutorial series!
    I am a newbie. I bought the Edison Professional DJ Britelite 2500 which includes the Edison Scratch 2500 DJ Controller. I plan on using the Virtual DJ software as I'm able to pay a monthly subscription to access their music database. 1) Is this compatible with Virtual DJ and 2) if it isn't then which other software (low cost) can I get with a low mthly music database subscription? I am primarily into Latin music for Salsa dancing.

    Hi Phil, you're probably familiar with the Numark Mixtrack Pro which has Numark's I/O built in. Is it worth buying a seperate soundcard to increase the quality? Or do you think the I/O does exactly the same job? Thanks and nice videos!

    I would of thought that due to laptop soundcard naff quality that using the laptops multiple ins and outs like a person said in one of your posts wouldnt be good enough for serious work and the person would need a dac so that the usb digital sound would be processed by the external sound cards better qualiy dac and give you better sound quality to the mixer .... i currently run a laptop into a mixer without an audio interface as i just send Karaoke audio into the mixer from the lappy and my sm 58 mics plug into my mixer . I dont think the quality is brilliant but i think and hope that if i buy an audio usb interface that the sound quality will be studio quality .. please give me feedback because i want to know if the latter is true about quality that i will notice over a standard laptop built in soundcard

    I'm new to dj'ing. I have Traktor Kontrol S2, HP200 laptop (crappy , I know). Iv'e been using the Traktor itself as my soundcard, but wanted a little extra to help with latency and improve sound quality. I purchased KA6. Everything I'm finding suggests I bought the wrong card. Seems it should have been a Traktor Audio product instead. Can I use the KA6 as an external soundcard and route sound through it?

    Help! Hi chaps I run a ddj rz, rekordbox, everything works great at home, the problem I have is trying to stream audio, I have 2 master outs rca and xlr and a rca booth, currently I use the rca out to my amp and get a good sound, headphones work fine on cueing etc. Rekordbox runs on my i5 16gb ram ssd hp probook. NOW the issue, I want to stream live video and audio, to do this I need to capture the audio outputs and send that into my laptop for streaming to software online, when I split the audio out of the controller and run it to the laptop I get bad audio latency and general bad behaviour from the setup, been told I need an audio interface to sort out the audio issue, pioneer are no help, hopefully this makes sense, find it hard to believe I need more equipment to make the all ready high end stuff WORK! Any help appreciated spent a year trying to find answers. Thanks.

      You can try using a software called OBS (Open Broadcast Software). It’s not the most user-friendly out there, but if you use that coupled with another app called Soundflower for your Mac, you can route the audio from your DDJ-RZ straight to the OBS app - it’ll take a bit of configuring to work - best to send a support ticket to the OBS / Soundflower folk :)

      The Control Compact doesn't have an audio interface built-in, so you'll either want to get one separately or just use a splitter cable - check out this talkthrough on that controller about 35 seconds in: ua-cam.com/video/0bObNcfFrCI/v-deo.html

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  3 роки тому +1

      For live performance or just recording? Trying to work out what you're trying to achieve, it's possible you don't need to be using the DDJ-400 at all

    • @Fuxi
      @Fuxi 3 роки тому

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah there's definitely confusion here, you don't "make" songs with a DDJ-400, it's a DJ controller for mixing two songs that have already been made together. For making music you need a DAW like Ableton or Logic and your audio interface for recording things like vocals.

    1. Seven and a half minutes and you are repeating the same thing again and again.
    2. If the instruction manual, which you repeatedly refer to, was clear then we wouldn't be here watching this video in the first place.
    3. Instead of repeating "Why" we need the audio interface it would help if you actually showed "How" to do it.

      Thank you for feeding back honestly on this - sorry the video didn't deliver, but this helps us to improve our content in the future. This article on sound cards might offer some points that the video didn't cover: www.digitaldjtips.com/2010/08/sound-cards-digital-djs/

    • @Samstrat
      @Samstrat 8 років тому +1

      Cheers Mate!! Didn't mean to criticize. Appreciate you taking the time to put up the video in the first place.
      But it's just that you have to plough through hundreds of videos on UA-cam before finding one which has good content. Often you click on a video and watch it till the end only to find that it didn't quite deliver what the title promised.
      A few tips to consider:
      - You may want to create a script before you start shooting a video else the material often tends to get repetitive. I speak from experience.
      - Feel free to edit out the portions which sound repetitive. Some of the most successful UA-cam channels have videos which are full of cuts every few seconds.
