Honestly. I'm blaming him for that Schlieffen dying but at least the game was over. He should have used it from the beginning of the chase. I'd say he forgot
Too much of a pussy or huge misplay. Chose your poison. He was full hp and 3 smokes ready with only 1 surface ship in any position to shoot him. A BB no less. He should have been much more aggressive at the end and slaughter that sub in seconds. Also the lack of using the guns was irritating. It's not like he was in a Shima...
The fact that he even HAS to CONSIDER using fucking speed boost to catch a submerged submarine is absolutely bullshit. Seriously, the balance team that thought this was fair needs to be dragged out into the street and beaten silly. So damn stupid.
My moment has finally come. Ackchually jingles, the amagi IS known for having good secondaries. Their reload is decent, though not great, their range is workable, but not great, but they have improved accuracy and have in fact worked as valid secondary ships, even been featured on your channel!
I guess it's about perspective, Amagi's secondaries aren't bad, but I wouldn't say they are "good," either. The 127mm have decent accuracy, but the 140s are abysmal. Combined with slow reload, if you want to run a secondary IJN, go with Kii or even better is the Iwami, both with their 100mm guns like akizuki has
Not even a minute in, and an "Ackshaully Jingles" moment The Allen M Sumner class of destroyers weren't derivatives of the Fletcher, they were a succeeding design meant to improve upon the Fletcher's shortcomings, among the improvements were improved turning capabilities, significantly improved AA and Primary Gun count whilst retaining the 2 Quintuple torpedo tubes from the Fletcher, and it did this while being only 15 inches wider, have 15 extra inches to the draft, and being 150 tons heavier standard displacement Really they are closer to Gearings, which are just Allen Sumner's lengthened 14ft amidship for extra fuel
As others have pointed out, the Sumner class was later than the Fletchers, and rather different. The Gearing class was a development of the Sumners, though they're almost interchangeable as far as combat capability.
He wasn't questioning how he launched them, but how he knew where to launch them with nothing there to have spotted the ship, since a submerged sub cannot see anything on the surface. Reasonable to assume it was being spotted by a team mate though as I think it had fired fairly recently.
No they stay at the same altitude unless you have pinged a target and they are homing torpedos, in which case they will go up or down accordingly. (Which the sub had done)
Your statement about sinking a sub reminds me of a T6 ranked game I had a while back, in the HMS Icarus (I think it was that season when they were still testing subs and decided to do it in ranked for some God forsaken reason), where at the start of the game I ambushed the enemy sub and sunk her by dropping all my depth charges on her head, then proceeded to go around the island to find their Weser sitting pretty behind it and dumped all my torps into her side. It was the only thing I did that game, but man was it satisfying!
11:53 as a newer submarine main (and a bit of a noob to WoWS in general) I will offer my input as to what happened here. For context, you can fire torpedoes from any depth, but anything below periscope depth will require a ping on an enemy for them to rise to the surface and start tracking. Although for a ping to land the enemy has to be spotted, or you guess their next location using Hydrophone as it gives a ghostly image of the ship for 1 moment allowing you to make a judgement call when to fire off a ping (not recommended btw). However what I think was happening here was that the Amagi was spotting the Schlieffen allowing the sub to fire off torps at 30m below and pinging him for them to rise to the top.
It doesn't happen very often, because it requires the target vessel to be completely oblivious, but it's always a bonus to launch torps at a target, hit or sink it, then hit another ship that just bimbled into the torpedo track just in time to be struck! lol
I once launched at a battleship from an ambush where it was sailing around a corner, unintentionally hit the destroyer I had no idea was there that had raced around the corner just in time to get a facefull of torpedoes, got the battleship, and was so pleased with myself I didn't immediately notice the third ship that was flooding from a single hit that missed the battleship and had continued on its merry way hitting a cruiser way in the back that had turned at exactly the wrong moment. That one survived, sadly.
I can't wait for Sea Power to drop next month. There have been many comments on Sea Power videos that the water in that game is good, but not WoW good. I had to come see for myself to see what all the fuss was about. I wholeheartedly agree. The water here is simply amazing!
Yeah Homburg should have accounted for the hyrdro running on the GK and launched the second set of torps slightly behind the GK to score the hits/kill.
all of this happened because the enemy DD who spawned on mid left his side. i don't know why a lot of DD players do this, if you leave your side the enemy DD or sub will flank and murder your whole team.
"the GK is a hard ship to torpedo." ...The GK is the single longest ship in the game. Yes it has hydro, but for every advantage it has, it has a disadvantage in dealing with torpedoes. It's the easiest ship to hit with torpedos if you are within or just out of hydro range, but even 10km isn't gonna be that hard. If hydro lasted forever, sure.
A good result, but I can't say I'm impressed by the game. He was top tier and never even had to fight an opposing DD or CV. It's very easy to farm damage in the YY under perfect MM like this!
@@thomaskositzki9424 Yeah. Title misled me. Still - well placed torpedo from enemy you don't suspect are really hard to avoid. YY is still very strong in today’s game and has even received a buff in the form of its new TRB. Deepwater torpedoes are extremely dangerous to anything that doesnt have or isnt running hydro, and with the leg mod + radar + a gun build she can serve as a budget Smaland.
