I bought the mono block version a few weeks ago. so far I've only hooked it up to an old home theater passive sub box with 12" woofer 4 ohms. Haven't even run amp to 1/4 of capacity and the sub pounds using one 12v LifePo4 battery. + no turn-on/turn-off thumps. As usual, use common sense running the amp. Don't use it for competition events and that sort of stuff and I believe the amp will give good long service. I was impressed when Big D showed the guts. Nice beefy rail filter caps!
Just ordered one. Have 3 budget amps Big D has tested over the years. The Dual XPR82D that worked great to add a pair of subs to a factory system. Also both of the Jensen XDA amps for a complete system in My Town and Country with 2 12" D4VC at 1ohm. Been happy with them for a couple years but wanted a bit more power for the subs. Glad I saw this video 1st thing this morning. Normally by the time Ive seen them the price has gone up...right now it's 82.99 plus a $10 coupon. Hope the guts are same when i get it... my Jensen monoblocks input Caps were much smaller than in the one Big D tested so I dont know how well mine actually performs compaired to his test. Love your channels Big D. Thanks for another great video.
Amazing. Not only do they put out rated power plus, but that monoblock was able to count up CLEAN on the certified test at 0.67. I've seen you try that test with plenty of much more expensive amps, and the dyno hops around when counting up. These seem to be built pretty well. Time will tell, I guess, once more people get them into use.
Impressive! Thanks for the video. I was looking at the 920 (4ch big brother) and if it performs anything like the little brother, I'm in! So funny how car audio is finally delivering, while pro audio is going the other way by advertising peak/max numbers. I love the simplistic yet versatile setup of these amps too. Seems like a no brainer for my boat. The marine speakers I am considering run at 4Ω and 150W. I like to overpower & under drive my speakers. Since the peak of the amp did not seem to be too much higher than the RMS, it a great case for more power...ruf ruf ruf. Should also help with the damping factor. Thanks again for the awesome videos!! I love the dyno & fluke. It makes it way easy to contemplate the ga of wire needed to run it. The design and power of the 4 channel is basically identical to the Dual XPR84d(later renamed DA10004d) which has also been rebranded by other companies (such as DS18). The only reason I don't think these are a direct rebrand is because the layout on the adjustment side is a bit different, so it is more of a clone.
Thanks BigD for testing these, especially the 4 channel little guy. Refreshing to see a cheap amp do rated power and then some. Without doing a whole "do it bump", and I know these are Class D... But did they have a lot of hiss when idle? I'm curious how noisy they were.
Not sure what gain overlap is for the AD-1. If you have a signal that doesn't push the amp to max power, do you add some gain to ensure that doesn't happen?
Big D - they have a class d version of the 4 channel rated at 920 watts for $113. I would love to see you dyno that one. If it is as good as the 480 watt one with better power. I might go with that to power the Infinity 6x9 and 6.5 going into in my 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Would love to test out the Dual Electronics DBTMA100 Black Micro 2 Channel Class-D Amplifier. It plugs into a home outlet. Wondered if its worth the 70 bucks they are asking for it.
I can't believe how cheap amps have gotten. I remember back in the day is was standard to pay $1 per watt if you wanted quality of any kind. Granted you could get American legacy but a 1000w amp was rated peak(in reality maybe 200 true watts lol) but you got what you paid for. Punch had the most impressive amps in my opinion. A punch 400 could double the supposed output by doubling the watts going though the RCA's.
Hey Big D, I have an older Amp that I have no idea what it is. Would you be willing to maybe let me send it to you and you test it out? I have no use for it but I think it would be cool to find out how it performs!
Nah, I think I'll still stick with my Rockford Fosgate Type RF X4. Would be nice to see one tested, I think it makes a little more than the 4x75 it's rated at...
You should start telling us what they smell like before and after. I always found the smell of a brand new amp to be very interesting. I can't tell you how many times I smelled an amp someone was trying to sell and figured out it was burnt, lol
How many companies overseas are building these type amps? And where do they come up with these names? We'd have paid $1000 plus for this kind of power back in the early 1990s. Crazy.
Back in the 1990’s. Companies like Phoenix gold, Soundstream, Linear Power, even Rodex made quality extremely clean and powerful amps. Nothing made today can touch those amps sound quality wise. Even some of the old Sony and Clarion amps crush the new JL amps sound quality wise.
Power is cheap now a days, but the main difference btwn most brands is in house design vs Korean designed amps, if you just want raw power that you can just pound and abuse all day with quality components go with punch and power series of Rockford, want well engineered clean sq accurate damping control go alpine I’ve never seen them use cheap caps inside, second sq would be kenwood excelon series, if you just want the most watts with good warranty go kicker, best bang for your buck would be pioneer stuff, Sony es stuff seems to be too fragile, if you like to gamble go with all these basic cheap Korean designed stuff, old designs less efficient less damping noise etc and reliability protection circuits
Quick Question. I have a Skar Audio 10" (shallow mount) in a bandpass box, wired down to 1-ish ohms, dual coil. Do you think the second amp would be dece3nt just for a Envoy.? Cheers. Thanks for the video. 👍
G'afternoon Guy's 🤓 . Does anybody know who it was that made the XXX car audio amps and subs from a few years ago ? . I bought a new rig that didn't have a stereo in it so I needed a system to throw in it for tunes. I bought a DVD receiver all new wiring, new speakers for the doors & I scooped up a 1000w XXX 2 channel amp and two 10" XXX audio subs for about $350 all in. I wasn't sure about the xxx audio because I've seen a lot of mixed reviews about them, but I have to say the amp runs cool & the subs hit surprisingly hard. Needless to say I'm surprised and impressed so chalk another one up for some good quality stuff that originally came from Amazon 🤣 ..
Most alternators are designed to output 14.7 volts as this is considered the industry standard. However, most of today's vehicles use pulse width modulation to control the actual output, making the voltage fluctuate quite a bit. The best way to achieve consistent power from your 12v system is to: 1. Upgrade the "Big 3". This is your power wire from the alternator to the battery, the ground from the battery to the engine block, and your power wire from the battery to the vehicle fuse block. Upgrading means larger, better quality wire with better connections. 2. Upgrade your battery. Look for a higher quality battery with more reserve capacity and/or amp hours in the group size that fits your vehicle. 3. Upgrade the alternator to a unit that has a higher, more consistent output. Only do this if you have upgraded the "Big 3". 4. Add an additional battery and use a battery isolator. After the Big 3, this is the most cost-effective way to improve voltage consistency and reserve capacity. 5. Add an audio capacitor or capacitor bank inline on your amp power wire. This works well to maintain consistent voltage momentarily, but it can get pretty expensive, especially for the amount of results you get when compared to other upgrades. Audio caps work really well if you've added an additional battery. 6. For massive voltage needs, do all the above, as well as consider adding a second alternator. This is only for those who need to maintain higher voltage and more consistent output. Hope this helps.
@@knowplay3258you mean 14.4 volts. That’s always been considered to be the “industry standard” average. Though like Derrick said, some Honda & Toyotas were known to only produce 13.8 volts. In a car, no matter what you do, you’ll never have a steady all the time voltage. The alternator isn’t charging 100% of the time. Put a good voltage gauge on their & watch it during a trip. It’ll fluctuate no matter the car. Agreed about your big 3 advice. There is no such thing as a wire too large.
@@302hobronco you could always solder in a diode to raise the alternators charge rate. Not 100 percent on that though but jerry aint loud has a video on this on his channel. Have fun.

Hiding vector reviewed these not too long ago and I got a pair last week ordered another pair. Cheap and good to have in the shelf
Finally I can push my 12x12 Boss wall to the max with ONE amp!
Best bargain yet!
these vids are great. buying seemingly sketchy amps off the internet and seeing how they fare
Nice little amps. Thanks for another great video. 😎👍👍
Would love to test out the Dual Electronics DBTMA100 Black Micro 2 Channel Class-D Amplifier. It plugs into a home outlet. Wondered if its worth the 70 bucks they are asking for it.
You said the monoblock didnt go into protect on tge dynamic runs correct? Did it go into protect on tge .8 .67 or .5 ohm dynamic runs?
Tossing the silica gel pacs in your tool box is a good idea. Helps reduce moisture.
Amazing for the price!
The way the case and layout looks it reminds me of the old Memphis amps
I can't wait until Big D gets his hands on the new Orion NT amplifier!
I'd like to see a test done on the 3000 watt version which is only 130 on amazon
Love watching all of your videos
I can't believe how cheap amps have gotten. I remember back in the day is was standard to pay $1 per watt if you wanted quality of any kind. Granted you could get American legacy but a 1000w amp was rated peak(in reality maybe 200 true watts lol) but you got what you paid for. Punch had the most impressive amps in my opinion. A punch 400 could double the supposed output by doubling the watts going though the RCA's.
Power Acoustik MOFO1-10KD | Class D Monoblock.would be interesting to test out.
What is a good quality 4 channel amp that is over 100 x4 that you recommend
Hey Big D, I have an older Amp that I have no idea what it is. Would you be willing to maybe let me send it to you and you test it out? I have no use for it but I think it would be cool to find out how it performs!
There seems to be an issue whith the link for the monoblock, because when I click on it, it gives me a 3000 watt version...
Would the mono work for an 8ohm 300 peak subwoofer? I just bought an older Rockford P1
Nah, I think I'll still stick with my Rockford Fosgate Type RF X4. Would be nice to see one tested, I think it makes a little more than the 4x75 it's rated at...
Wow that's a good deal both for a about 150.00 you can beat that going to purchase both
Hey Big D. Will you ever test the jp1.2z3 like you did the jp13
You should start telling us what they smell like before and after. I always found the smell of a brand new amp to be very interesting. I can't tell you how many times I smelled an amp someone was trying to sell and figured out it was burnt, lol
Great video 💪
What about the sound on your speakers??
I would like to see Stinger's 4 channel amp. Claims to be 150watts per channel at 4 ohms.
he did stinger new amp line review.
Great test and review.
Not bad if I can find a way to get rid of the name logo?
Low pass and High pass filters both the same freq? 50Hz-250Hz? Am I missing something?
Is the power clean though
How bout the Bemines 2000w? Looks beefy
How do they sound , we need another video of them playing
Do you think the 3k puts out rated also for $125? 🤔
Yes, but how does it sound?
How many companies overseas are building these type amps? And where do they come up with these names? We'd have paid $1000 plus for this kind of power back in the early 1990s. Crazy.
Back in the 1990’s. Companies like Phoenix gold, Soundstream, Linear Power, even Rodex made quality extremely clean and powerful amps. Nothing made today can touch those amps sound quality wise. Even some of the old Sony and Clarion amps crush the new JL amps sound quality wise.
I'd love to see an o-scope test to see the quality of the output.
So it's just a 40hrz tone.. that slowly goes up.. good possibility why it goes into protection
Love your channel ❤️
Please make another video for sound quality
no bluetooth is a thing to consider ???
Quick Question. I have a Skar Audio 10" (shallow mount) in a bandpass box, wired down to 1-ish ohms, dual coil. Do you think the second amp would be dece3nt just for a Envoy.? Cheers. Thanks for the video. 👍
Just need the mono.
1 ish? WTF
@@elcomandante9299 bounces. we're bouncing. 1.2 ish
cues Outkast 😉🤣💚
Was waiting for the sound test. Time to break out the Elac's and the Savard sub.
Pls review a lightninglab 1200.1D watts rms
$146 for 2 of the mono block amps. That’s 2000w RMS for your subs. Great price!
Ok, is it me, or do those look like CT Sounds CT series?
Speaking of budget buys Audiozerone has a Bluetooth waterproof deal that seems outstanding right now just FYI
In a vehicle, how would you achieve 14.7 or more consistent volts? Is that from the alternator or multiple batteries?
Yes alternator mostly but extra battery will also help👍🏾✌🏾
Most alternators are designed to output 14.7 volts as this is considered the industry standard. However, most of today's vehicles use pulse width modulation to control the actual output, making the voltage fluctuate quite a bit.
The best way to achieve consistent power from your 12v system is to:
In the past, I have bypassed ECM control over the alternator and utilized an adjustable voltage regulator to control the alternator.
@@302hobronco you could always solder in a diode to raise the alternators charge rate. Not 100 percent on that though but jerry aint loud has a video on this on his channel. Have fun.
