Zac you gotta take off all the hardware before putting on griptape so you can poke out all the holes haha but super rad and excellent work on the deck(:
Prebuilts are most popular because they come pre programmed. The 80s didn’t have custom built PCBs and open source software to help manufacturers. Id love to see you boot up VESC tool and program my DIY to a functional state. Latency free wireless remote with speed and voltage monitor. The 80s doesn’t even compare to what we have today lol
@@earl7693 Electronics did change in power density and efficency in the last 40 years for sure but neither BLDCs nor PID Controllers / Vector Control Algorithms and Inverters like the VESC are anything new
Thank you so much both for the kind words and the support on this build! I'm definitely looking forward to trying my hand at vacuum forming some more things in the future!
I love your videos I especially loved the multigame console. I want to make one now as I have a lot of games and consoles. Though I would absolutely love it if you could make a 2.0 model vid with wii included and telling us how to set up the raspberry pi smoothly
neat video! as someone who knows basically nothing about skateboarding, it was fascinating to see how a deck is made. i do think maybe the sticker on the bottom should’ve been the other way around though, so it’s right-side up when he carries it by the handle
AMAZING except instantly riding it in the water lol it was so soaked at the end!!! its going to get water logged which makes me sad because thats beautiful
While I think it looks great I feel like the Logo is kinda upside down... if it is held by the handle then the logo will be upside down to those looking at it... also would have had the Logo on the top oriented away from the person on the board as it has a shape that looks like an arrow so it kinda looks like it points backwards... so if it was placed the other way the arrow would point in the direction of forwards... its all minor things IMO but regardless of my critiques I think you did a great job.
@@ZacBuilds no they do not. Only parts for the board are sold but can be found everywhere. Personally im not a big fan of wowgo but they are getting better. You can’t go wrong with backfire boards or Tyneeboard or Meepoboard and I think Tyneeboard is coming out with a super powerful board in the next week or so that’ll supposedly beat stuff like the evolve hadean. That’s the board im probably going to get once they release it
Wow that's pretty cool. Zac hope you get great use out of it for many years to come. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend Zac. Keep Making. God bless.
lol for everyone saying this isn’t diy, literally the only difference from a true diy build is sourcing the parts individually, a diy board is basically just as plug and play as using parts from a pre built lol, honestly making a deck is a lot more impressive than plugging in a bunch of garbo over priced amazon parts and slapping them on a pre made deck. no one ever actually “makes” an electric skateboard and the most diy it gets is making your own battery which isn’t even cost effective if your only making one pack so it doesn’t even matter for someone looking to make a board and if your making more than one pack you already know what your doing and don’t need this entertainment over instruction video anyways
This isn’t a “DIY” electric skateboard lol. All you did was transfer another board’s electronics to a different deck. Total clickbait. If this is DIY, then me buying a burger from McDonald’s and putting some BBQ sauce on it is “cooking.”
Amazing board made by an amazing man! Can't wait to see what you come up with if you make your own!
Hahaha thanks! Happy to support you guys and can't wait to get out and ride together in some nicer weather!
"Thinking quickly, Zac constructs a homemade electric skateboard using only an electric skateboard"
Definitely click-bait....
And this is why I come to the comment section before I continue to watch the video. Thank you
I was disappointed this wasn't fully diy but I did learn alot about eletric skateboards
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's not a DIY building electric skateboard, you've just replaced a deck !
Board was sweet...but I want to see you build a windbreaker next!
They must have matching pants too
Oh man! Some might say that's the ultimate DIY build haha
@@ScottWalshWoodworking Always.
These slight "different" video topics are awesome and executed very well. Keep it up!
Thanks brother, will do!
Zac you gotta take off all the hardware before putting on griptape so you can poke out all the holes haha but super rad and excellent work on the deck(:
There is an entire channel dedicated to building electric skateboards
Excited for this one ‼️
Thanks Sergio, me too man haha
great video Brycen
Can you? We've been building diy motorized boards since the late 80's, prebuilts are the new thing in most boarders eyes

I was wondering if the shade was going to get thrown at one wheel. Did not disappoint.
Hahaha as a DIYer I couldn't help but take a shot
This is sick, love the buds bro

Thanks for watching!
Awesome instructional video on how to build the board. Just the board
Pretty cool build Zac!
Thanks TJ!
Chris from Good Roads has a fantastic video series showing how he developed his shape for this kit.
Nice! I'd love to do more of a follow up where I mod the shape of the board a bit more
I was expecting more DIY but still an entertaining video
Love seeing you do a board build, it turned out amazingly! Can't wait to see what you get up to in the future with the Thin Air Press bag!
Thank you so much both for the kind words and the support on this build! I'm definitely looking forward to trying my hand at vacuum forming some more things in the future!
Cool project!
more like repairing a broken electric skateboard
Looks awesome! Great job!
Thanks Kaleb!
I love skateboarding, so this’ll be super rad!
I spent many years riding when I was younger so this was a ton of fun to do, made me very nostalgic
@@ZacBuilds I just got back into riding, so this was perfect timing! Thanks for an awesome video! Your builds are definitely an inspiration to me.

Ha true! I didn't even think about that, next time!
Put the logo on the bottom upside down when they hold with with the handle.
if you do buy an electric skateboard you should get something from meepoboard or backfire boards. would highly recommend both companies
Great tip man! I'm definitely in the market right now, so I'll check them out
Reuse and recycle, saving one electronic from the trash 👍
I think you mean can you rebuild an electric skate board .
You should've put the sticker the other way so that it would be upright when you carry it using the handle
AMAZING except instantly riding it in the water lol it was so soaked at the end!!! its going to get water logged which makes me sad because thats beautiful
@15:22 I'm got my fingers crossed you suddenly realized not to apply the grip tape over the mounting bolts with them still in. ....eeep!!
Looks like only 5 other skaters in here noticed the grip tape issue, almost 2 years later I wonder if it ever became an issue.
How efficient is it to have the motors that far away from the actual power source
You mean in terms of transmission lose? Super minimal
Cool board kit! Can't wait to see the projects you make with the vacuum bag we know that you will be saving.
Thanks James! Already trying to think of some other ways I can use the vac bag!
awesome video...

@zac I need help with building a trike
That's not the best way to do griptape. But otherwise some good stuff in this video.
damn that wowgo is like 4 years old
I think they still sell it don't they?

🤣🤣 ive built an e-mountain board from scratch. Last year and i put over 1000 miles on it. This year im looking to put much more on it.
I will take one
It's in the mail!
So really this was a DIY longboard deck...
⚡⚡🤙🏼⚡
I can't build an Electric Skateboard but people had already done it, there are videos on UA-cam out there, yes.
Why cant you?
@@ZacBuilds why did you entitled your video "can you build [...]?"
Awesome build only thing is I would've tested the electronics to make sure they still worked before putting them onto the board
Good
Thanks

Looks like the old deck just needed some grip tape and it was good to go lol
🐙
Putting griptape over truck bolts 👎🏾
The paint bleed over kinda killed the amazing work you did, but it is what it is :/ Good job overall tho!
But so you want to. No!
Not diy
Oh really I must have missed the part where I didn't do it myself?
@@ZacBuilds all you did was swap the deck
@@kingesk8 Are you sure? I think you better watch the video again at .75X speed

You mainly cut the board, nothing special a BIG👎
This was east mode.
Would like to see you outsource the components to make the ride as comparable to the wowgo board as possible
Not a diy. More like just a transference. 🤷♂️
BS! What wrecked deck. Not exactly DIY when you are just transporting parts to a new board
