Waterproofing! I've twice fried esc's from small puddles that let ingress just enough water to cost me. Now I use a liberal amount of GE plastic sealant to all seams, stays flexible and seals it up tight! Haven't had an issue since and can now ride through heavy rain without worry. Next upgrade is ceramic bearings to really make my board waterproof ⛈

Hello there and thanks for the build. I’m going with a pre built board for my first board and then I will build a DIY longboard for sure. My question, Loctite red 271 or blue 242?

Bobbywade3232 blue 242 is great stuff and will hold plenty strong. Make sure to shake the bottle well. Red is pretty much permanent (needs high temps to break) so I wouldn't use it unless I'm planning on never seeing the insides again

    Hi,
After installing new Boardnamics BN M1-AT Gear Drive on my Lacroix electric skateboard 12s4p p42a 21700 molicel and replacing motors from 6389's to 63100's the board would not charge. Charger showed green as if fully charged but was no charge left.
After downloading the xiaoxiangBMS app it started to charge properly again!
But now It will not charge again. The battery shows fully charged in xiao & stormcore app and shows green light on charger again but it is not fully charged.
    I'm seeing:
    - a MOSFET software locked alarm
    and also:
    - A cell over voltage protection alarm

I've not made this mistake myself but a good one to avoid is Miss judging your wheel size my board comes with 73 Mill Wheels I'm about to upgrade but the setup I want has 120 Mill Wheels on the rear think about the size difference that represents it would jack up my rear and lower my front end so I'm going to need to purchase new front wheels as well just to keep things on a level in addition to that the rear come with a lift plate which I will also need to purchase for the front again to keep my wheels the same height

I bought a ESk8 longboard online and I've had it a month and while I was riding it I lost power and can't turn it back on. Plugged in charger and charger gives me the green light which tells me that battery is either fully charged or there's a disconnect. I checked. I have taken the battery out of the enclosure and using a multi meter tested the charge going into the 7S2P battery pack. I get 29.4v. I tested the wires that go to the esc with it plugged into the charger I get 18.81v if the charger is disconnected I get 0v. Also this esc I think is not the right one. The esc installed is a small fish glued single drive -B231W 24V-8A. The battery pack is a MKD 18650 7S2P
    Nominal capacity voltage 5200mah/25.5v 132.86wh
    Max charge voltage 29.4v

hello. i have 10 batteries that are fully charged 4.2 volt each for a total of 42 volts.
i plugged them to the esc just like you have ib the video.
the diode exploded in my face.
i realized 10s is not correct.
    i tried 4.2v*9 so 9s and its 37.8v.
i thought everything was fine used my board until it reached 32v and started beeping and driving bad.
batteries still almost full 3.61 each times 9 is 32v.
so 3.6v each is still like 80% full and it feels like the board is out of juice?!

Oh no! This is not so good advice.
The ones just with a resistor and nothing else wont help at all, they remove 0% charges.
You need to get the ones which are connected to ground, like in your outlet or the body of the heat radiator in you room.
The ones without a cable wont help at all.

    • @MarkusBenjaminAnders
      @MarkusBenjaminAnders 3 роки тому +2

If you only have two wires from your motor it's probably not brushless, meaning you don't need an esc (if that's what you meant by controller). A brushless motor needs an esc for timing the current of the phases, a brushed motor (like the one you likely have) only needs a voltage controller like a variable resistor or pwm controller. Hope this helps. PS, make sure to get components that are compatible (electric-wise) so you don't burn out your circuits or cause damage to the battery. Stay safe

Don't wire your ESC power wires backwards. I've done this, not with an electric skateboard, but an RC Tank ESC. It was a really sad moment.

Ill tell you the mistake I avoided. Coming from a IT/Software Engineer/Electrician background (I use my soldering gun to work often for small quick projects),I really wanted to build a board.
Then reading up and realizing that I'll never want to build an electric Skateboard 🛹 , because as a working professional with a family, I'm far better off spending the money for a really good pre-built eskate. Allowing me to enjoy my new eskate hobby while still allowing time for me and my family.

DIY to me doesn't consist of bolting a few parts and plugging them in. That's not DIY in any sense. Making the devices from the constituent parts is DIY. This guy effectively sells an expensive kit to transform a board into an electric one! All I said is don't use him for parts get your own from aliexpress for cheaper. Be honest to the viewer explaining how there are other options available. Simple!
