Today we are finally doing a full review of the watch that has me laughing out loud during the unboxing, the Spinnaker Piccard!! Water resistant to 1.000m it is a tribute to the first descent down to Mariana Trench and the watch is styled like the Rolex Deep-sea that went down to 10.900m exactly 60 years ago, on January 23rd 1960.
At 47mm in diameter and even more importanly, 25mm in thickness, this HUGE dive watch is definitely not for everyone!! Powered by a swiss made automatic movement Sellita SW200, which is a clone of the ETA 2824, it is the largest watch I ever featured on my channel!

An issue I've been thinking of lately, is the concept of the dive watch. They are moving more towards a fashion item. I guess that noone has used the Main function of the dive watch, measuring bottom time while diving. A dive computer, is way more accurate and safe. So why not a great looking leather strap?
Another question is when, or will, the demand for dive watches end?
Where will the style of the dive watch design go?
You can wear it on your forearms or above the elbow instead of the wrist. 😂. You can start a new trend here.
Apart from the crazy insane Rolex which was an engineering tour de force, and a very fitting homage the Spinnaker is not over the top, and it is a beautiful instrument Sir 👍 Tam.
It definitely looks like a refined Trieste! It has its own unique charm. Kudos to Spinnaker, for trying something a little audacious and daring!

The craziest watch indeed. I wonder why a micro brand would put so much effort in making a watch like this knowing that they will not sell a lot of these.
It’s at a sweet spot in price where they probably will sell a lot though.

That's why they only made a total of 600, I bought one of each and could have sold them a dozen times over to total strangers. Geeks are known for liking things out of the ordinary which is not necessarily connected to good taste where styling is concerned.

Odd, this is an OTT watch that I would likely never wear. But still, it’s my favorite Spinnaker to date. Which is saying something, because I’m not usually that interested in the brand. Maybe due to its quirkiness?
I like Jules Verne. Could work in space or inside the Earth as well.
Funny looking watch, looks like a mini spaceship from the sides and the band looks like multiple bands glued and sown together, bottom line, it’s ugly but surprisingly I like it.

Spinnaker, the watch brand trying way too hard to ride the rolex or any other watchbrand's history or legacy. Soulless. They really need a story of their own.
