It took me 4 episodes to get it right. I am rather pleased with the final result 😁

Something to be aware of, the Parkside battery does not have a low voltage cut off so you need to be careful you don't damage the battery.

Just use a faston, a 35A or 40A car-fuse and you can connect the wires straightforward, then hotglue them inplace and it will safely work, just not look that nice.

I could have done with seeing BigClive's video before the clip lead fest of my version haha. It's good to see a posher conversion like this one 😀

Yes, I like bigclive's version. There are loads of more complicated adapters on UA-cam videos that really achieve nothing more than Clive has done with his minimalist approach. There are 4 episodes in this series and I am rather pleased with the end result.

Could you not open up the original battery and replace the batteries?
I agree with MickyNuts. A good print for the power adapter. 👌👍👍

Yes, you could buy a set of NiCd cells to replace the originals. Not cheap, but cheaper than buying a replacement NiCd battery. Of course, to connect up the cells you are best using one of those little spot welders, so that would be an additional expense, plus the Nickel tab strips. Suddenly the LIDL LiIon battery seems to be a reasonable cost and a good upgrade. Add to that the fact that I already have 2 of those LIDL battery packs that I bought several years ago and never used. Check your comment 2 years ago on the video I did on the original battery teardown ua-cam.com/video/eGRzEYbYOSw/v-deo.html

@@GrandadIsAnOldMan We need to reverse the time machine. 🤣
Oh yes, those little spot welders. Well, I have one and tried to use it several times about 3 years or more ago. It kept tripping the circuit breaker, no matter what socket I plugged it into.
      Have a nice holiday. 👌👍

Good job there Graham. Interesting thing those electric strimmers. Good print for the power adapter.
It's interesting because I hope to have my petrol trimmers up and running soon, along with other junk.
It will be my first video. 😁👍👍

Could you not use the top half of the old battery ?

Yes, you could👍👍 I guess you were not listening to what I said. The one I talk about by Gaudesign at 01:05 uses that method. The link is in the video description.
I have it in mind that I might do a video changing the NiCd cells for new ones so I would want the old battery case anyway.
This project took me 4 episodes to get it to the point that I was actually rather pleased with the result.
