- The No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels got off to a hot start and were able to hold off a hard-charging Duke team for an 84-79 win on Senior Night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Cormac Ryan started off the game by hitting 3-straight three-pointers on his way to a season-high 31 points on 8-12 shooting, including 6-8 from deep in the win. Kyle Filipowski scored a career-high 23 points for Duke in the loss. Harrison Ingram finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds on an off night on the offensive end for RJ Davis and Armando Bacot.

The referees were not. There were a lot more fouls than what was called. And the referees were for Duke. I said that this would happen after the first game in Chapel Hill. Carolina will have the referees against them in the ACC TOURNAMENT and the NCAA TOURNAMENT. What Carolina has to do is get a large lead in every single game from now on and don’t look back. And also stop making those sloppy mistakes.

Filipowki committed at least 6 uncalled fouls in the last 4 minutes. It was like he knew they would not call that 5th foul.
Ted Valentine was once again Duke's MVP. He wore out the Heels on ghost fouls on Duke's end and he was a blind man rattling cup on the other end.

this was a winable game from dukes pov they got handled in the start but outscored the rest of the match. unc has a slightly better team but dont act like its impossible for Duke to win they will prolly play again next weekend

Syracuse will have something to say about that. ACC sleeper team. Already beat UNC in the regular season, they'll do it again. They are 1-1 in the regular season... we'll see if that win was a fluke or not.

Big win for UNC. I cant remember the last time UNC swept Duke in the regular season when Duke was ranked in the top 10. They swept Duke in 2019 but Duke didn't have Zion in those games.

Well, you just answered your own question. In 2019, they swept a top 10 Duke team that, even without Zion, had two other lottery picks in their starting lineup. They did it again in 2021 but that Duke team was obviously terrible.
