- In their first meeting of the season, the #3 Tar Heels took down the #7 Blue Devils, 93-84. North Carolina used its defense to spark the fast break and get easy buckets. UNC forced 11 Duke turnovers and scored 19 points off of those turnovers. Armando Bacot scored a game-high 25, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out five assists. Playing in his first UNC-Duke game, Harrison Ingram scored 21 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had four steals. RJ Davis added 17 points and five assists. For Duke, Jared McCain led the way with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Filipowski added 22 points and Jeremy Roach scored 20 points.

Kyle knows he is going to the league after this season so he did punk moves against Bacot and RJ twice and nothing called but when he horse collars RJ , RJ not only gets called for a foul but a tech worse than hitting above the shoulders..Karma bit duke square though as UNC did not fold, Kyle missed one of two and then picked him off.

Tar Heels owned that game and the margin of victory should have been greater. Lots of questionable calls at the end with the refs, I almost wonder if they were trying to cover the spread.

Jon Scheyer is proving every game that he is not the right coach for Duke he is too passive he doesn’t know how to motivate a team like Coach k it’s because Scheyer never yells at his players for taking bad shoots and just like I thought he would Tyrese Proctor has disappeared

UNC gave it up to protect the 3 pt line…Duke ended up scoring a lot as a result but worked out well for UNC in the end

Duke had 8 assists on 35 buckets. Too much one on one hero ball like an AAU game. Too much dribbling. No ball movement. They barely even ran an offense. Not a recipe for Tourney success.

Duke has nothing to be ashamed of. They got beat by a team that going to be the last man standing in March. Duke doesn't have the talent of the past. The loss of Lively makes a big difference. He was the human eraser. If the kid hits a couple of 3s this game would not of been nowhere as competitive. Proctor is not the same player he was last year. The Heels are awful good Boys and Girls. What Dunk with .8 seconds left? If you’re talking about Bacot’s dunk at the end, he flushed a wide open Dunk with about 10 seconds left after Duke was trying to desperately steal the ball or foul. Not like it was a 20 pt game and Duke had completely thrown in the towel.
Wouldn't have happened if your team didn't give up on playing defense in the last 10 seconds of the game.

Barely lost? It wasn't even close. UNC wasn't really threatened as they had a double digit lead majority of the game. UNC was definitely more aggressive than Duke in the game.
