Alice Wagner is taken to the police station after she is robbed. She looks through a mug book in an attempt to identify the man. Instead of finding him, however, she finds a picture of a man who looks very similar to her son-in-law Leo.
Season 6 The Man With Two Faces Dir By Stuart Rosenberg
When she returns home she asks her daughter Mabel about her husband. Mabel becomes angry and threatens to move out. Later, Alice tells the police about the mug shot and her son-in-law. They say it's probably just a coincidence. That night, however, the police come to Alice's house and arrest both Leo and Mabel. They tell Alice that if she had went through the female mug book she would have seen the picture of her daughter.

....I remember women like this mother. Always always so positive and confident. Always put together, and quaffed. Always generous to a fault.

I always felt Spring Byington's name matched her personality and face perfectly...

Any performance where Spring Byington is present is going to be a testament of humanity.

I love these short well thought out stories. It’s almost like he boiled it down to only the essential scenes & words to tell the tell. Now almost 60 years later (12/13/60) it still stands up. True genius. TY 🙏

Hitchcock could make a scene exciting without great violence.

A very unexpected ending. I felt so awful for the mother.

Spring Byington was one of the finest actresses of her time. I continue to watch episodes and movies she appeared/starred in. No one compares to her compassionate, well suited rolls in film and television.

I thought I recognized Spring Byington. So I looked it up at IMDB, and it was indeed her. She was in December Bride, which I remember as a kid in the '50s. Baby boomer memories, you know. I imagine there are other baby boomers who remember her, too.

That was interesting. That was pretty sad. I wasn't expecting that. Some people can be really selfish and self absorbed.

Spring Byington played with many of Hollywood's greatest stars, and she always managed to stand out as though on her own. Great supporting actress, perhaps the female counterpart to Walter Brennan.

I only watched this because of Spring Byington. Such a lovely lady. I loved her in The Devil & Mrs. Jones.

I'm surprised how well this "condensed" version works. Never the less the full version would be even more fun and authentic.

It’s not the whole episode but the important parts. Well acted especially the mother. I felt so sorry for her.

I love it, a whole story in ten minutes, these other directors and producers have taken too much time of our lives with useless "fillers" in movies, have you ever finished a movie and wondered what a section of it had to do with the movie or just knew a lot was unnecessary?
