Awesome. One of the best episodes I've seen. Great plot twists. When you think about it, she made a great decision. Her life turned out to be much more delicious. She didn't live a poor life, and she married a young guy in the end so she also enjoyed that in her later years. Otherwise, she would have been poor all her life and had an old cheating husband in those later years. Everything counts in the video game of life.
If you're 25 it's old...today. Update: After rewatching this I admit, the way he said "65 years old with 1 foot in the grave" was a bit outrageous by today's standards! 85 is today's equivalent.

She really didn’t empty his pockets, she was marrying him for as long as he lived. He didn’t expect to live for more than a year, but he didn’t say marry me for a year, he wanted her to be his wife until he died. As his widow she was entitled to his fortune

All love is not passionate love. It is love that is slow burning and stable. Once she saw the man she thought she was in love with was a jerk, it freed her heart to be open to her "husband". In the end yes she did all right with the old man in the end. They boy that was purely revenge.
It would have been a shock that his 1 year of living turns into 25 had that not been given away in the title. Nonetheless the shock ending makes up for it! Very fun episode.

When I was young, I believed in true love and romance; didn't care about money. Ended up never finding love and romance, and the scoundrels I met while searching for love caused me to lose what little money I had. A very expensive lesson, but I finally learned that being alone is for the best.
From what I think... It's somewhat a pay back thing... Her ex partner had a kid to which she ends up marrying...I bet she said to him she ain't got long left ends up to 25yrs or so.. And it continues.. Probably happened to the old guy in the beginning too

The fiancee just wanted the money. She married the right man. Good for her. She also married the son, because he wouldn't have given his kid any money anyways lol. She got the money AND took his family.
I love the pearl at every anniversary. Her necklace was a testament to his devotion and her love.

From what I think... It's somewhat a pay back thing... Her ex partner had a kid to which she ends up marrying...I bet she said to him she ain't got long left ends up to 25yrs or so.. And it continues.. Probably happened to the old guy in the beginning too
