From the first note you are hooked. From their 1975 album, " Toys in the Attic", this tune has amazing quitar licks, pulsating drums, repeated electric bass riffs and harmonies to blow your mind. Some debate it's about Joe Perry's wife and their drug use. It's the song that keeps on giving and giving. One of their best rockin tunes. 🎸🎸🎸 Great Reaction Harri. 😊😊 Thanks Harri and Imadrummin. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
IMO, these guys were one the greatest rock bands to come out of America!!! Though they were toxic together, (Steve and Joe), they made some unbelievable music!! Thx yet again Harri for you’re awesome reactions!
I know Aerosmith went to the stratosphere in the mid to late 80's & early 90's...but for me, my hands down favorite era, is and always will be, the 70's!!! Period! Couldn't agree more Harri. The farther down the rabbit hole you go with Aerosmith in the 70's, the more, I believe, you'll be convinced.
Sweet Emotion was one of THOSE songs back in the day when it first came out -- you know ... that handful of songs that stood out among all of the other good songs that were played on the radio. One of those songs that as soon as you heard the beginning [ and what an iconic beginning this masterful song has ], your pulse raised a notch and your hand immediately went to the volume button [ unless, of course, the volume knob was already cranked up to 10 ... 😊 ]. By '75, the vault of R&R/future classic rock songs was already loaded with jewels. Each year from around '69 on saw R&R make gargantuan leaps in it's evolution -- better production; more innovation; and simply more and more great sounding songs. We had Money, Rocky Mountain Way, Stairway To Heaven, All Right Now, Free Bird, et al . The assertion or declaration regarding the superlative nature of 70's music is thrown around a lot, but dang if it ain't true. I lived all of my teen years in the 70's. I remember my musical ear maturing from basically pop music to "heavier" stuff. I'm not knocking POP music. Some of my favorite songs fall in the POP category. My older brother by about 3 years was listening to the heavier stuff by 1970 -- Yes, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, etc. My four other siblings and I, along with our parents, thought "his music" was weird. Shoot -- some Black Sabbath stuff was downright scary. The darn name was scary !! But one day when my brother and I were in our bedroom, he was playing the album Fragile by Yes. Roundabout came on. And then suddenly, so did my ears. My inner ear began hearing what my brother had been hearing for a while now -- magic. Musical magic and genius. That was it! My musical journey took off. I always liked music. I loved The Beatles and The Jackson 5 and Sonny And Cher and The Beach Boys and The Supremes and Herman's Hermits -- still do. But there is something more powerful to the R&R bands that were emerging onto the music scene. Were they deeper? Did they discover some hidden nuance of music that made it blow your mind? I realize that there are levels of music in a technical aspect -- some can be simple, and some can be more complicated. Like classical music is considered to be richer music than modern music. I have heard that many rock musicians had their roots in classical music. But whatever these "heavy" rock musicians hit upon, it worked. And it still works. And I believe it will always work. Aerosmith in the 70's was great. Had tons of good songs. Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way are part of what defines Classic Rock . Enjoyed your reaction. It is always a blast watching someone discover another amazing classic rock song and reacting the same way that those of us who were hearing it new reacted. Keep on r'actin .
The 70’s were the best of Aerosmith, and every decade that followed, was just the result of the band working hard to hold onto, and live up to what they created in the 70’s!
Steven Tyler wrote this track about how frustrated he felt with the situation in the band at the time! The band was doing a lot of drugs, and it led to tensions between Tyler & Perry (Toxic Twins). Great song and one of my favorites!! Thank you!
Ima, I really like this submission choice, along with so many more featured here on Harri's channel. Aerosmith released 15 studio albums, six live albums, 16 compilation albums, and two extended plays. Oddly, Aerosmith had only one #1 song hit on Billboard despite how prolific they were. Harri, your review was very engaging and enjoyable. Keep it up as you always do.
Thanks DaveBZen. It's crazy to think...72 singles, 21 top 40's, 4 multiplatinum singles selling 16.5 million ...but only one #1. Thanks for stopping in my good friend. 👍👍👍
Tom Hamilton has some of rock's greatest bass lines. Always deep in the pocket. Back in The Saddle, Draw The Line, Hearts Done Time, Same Old Song & Dance to name a few. One of the most underrated backbones of any band's rhythm sections.
I howled, "Oh, GOD, no!" when you said you thought 80's and 90's Aerosmith was the best. "Night in the Ruts" was iconic. They managed to work through some tough times and re-emerge in the 80's and 90's, but...70's Aerosmith is what you want to hear.
The later stuff can't hold a Bic lighter to the earlier songs. This album and the previous albums really rocked. But the album after this, Rocks, was my favorite. Last Child, Rats in the Cellar, and Nobody's Fault!
Classic song off Toys in the Attic (great song, too), a great album, all 70s Aerosmith is Dope! Same album, Round and Round is a massive banger of a tune, hypnotic heaviness. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
Imadrummin - Top shelf, brother! Love the vocals, the harmonies and that classic riff by Joe Perry. Rock and roll at it's finest. Loved your reaction, Harri, but Aerosmith splashed onto the scene in the early 70's. We were jamming to "Dream On" in the summer of '75.
Thank you brother. I crank this song every time it plays. It amazes me how Aerosmith stayed together with all of the internal riff raff but it was because they pushed each other to the limit to make a song the best they could..... and that is what sets Aerosmith apart. Their documentary is worth watching.👍👍👍
Thank you Harri for this fabulous reaction and happy to see you rocking out on Sweet Emotion. I loved it. Aerosmith is one of the very best rock bands that has stood the test of time for 50+ years. Well done!!! 👋👋👋👍👍👍
I probably saw Aerosmith more than any other band live in the 70s starting in ‘75. They could be hit or miss due to drugs, but when they were good, they were amazing.
"Standin in the front just shakin' your a.. Had me then. 13 years old. Never heard anything like it since. Parents wouldn't have this music in the house. Respect them for that. Still crank it in my own house. Glad you dig it. Great to hear you made the connection; +Walk this way" was indeed on the same album. You know the rest. Well played. Peace from west Texas.
Hey Imadrummin, this is a great pick from my homies. Aerosmith is one of many reasons for me to be a proud Bostonian. I think 70’s Aerosmith was the best. Thanks to Harri for loving this 🌺✌️
It's been said a bunch here... Yes, early Aerosmith was the best...... Seeing the comments, I definitely need to go "back in the saddle" for a while..... Starting w/that one..... After the 70's I didn't hear much from them for several years.... mid 80's heard the newer.... Much different... Still very good, but really, different.
Harri, Harri Harri, do yourself a HUGE favor and listen to all four of their first four albums, "Aerosmith", "Get Your Wings", "Toys In The Attic", and "Rocks". End to end. No Pauses. You will "see the light" of how incredible they really were.
……and that Harri is the the real Aerosmith that rocks ! 🔥 …..not that love ballad and pop radio friendly music on the radio from the 90’s going forward ! 70’s Aerosmith was matching Led Zeppelin,Rolling Stones and The Who on radio play and sales through the 70’s ❤️🔥🎸
Hey Harri , Eddy back from the states !myrtle beach sc on east coast ! Caught up on all your vlogs , love your channel ! 50 year old man I am love the old school sounds
This was the first album I ever bought, it was 1976 and I was 9 years old. Their following album Rocks which came out in 76 is their masterpiece although this album is a a razor thin second place.
You cant catch me cuz the rabbit done died line refers to the days when pregnancy testing was done by injecting a womans blood into a rabbit. If it died she was pregnant.
Aerosmith (and many others) of the era were heavily influenced by black blues funk and Soul. Exactly the ingredient missing in todays music. They love James Brown ,Sly Stone and others.
Harri Aerosmith were greatest in the 70's up through the Rocks album. The next record you can tell the drug use started taking its toll. Half that album Draw The Line is good & the other half not so much. It got so bad that Joe Perry left the band halfway through the recording of the Night In The Ruts album.
I've seen A-smith several times over the years. But, I gotta say, the first time I saw em back in '80 it was a complete train wreck. To this day it's one of the absolute worst shows I've ever seen. That said, I gotta give em a little quarter because all of em were lost in tall weeds due to their addictions. They couldn't play for sht. But, if any band were to win a "comeback" award it'd be these dudes. And, the timing of their collab with Run DMC was simply perfect. It raised A-smith up from the dead and we fans are all the better for it. I suggest you check out "Back In The Saddle" and "Toys In The Attic." There'll be no disappointment.
@@HarriBestReactions I know. Especially since I live outside of Boston. But that's my opinion. I have to say, though, I have heard some songs by them that the radio never plays that aren't bad. Bass groove is awesome! Love playing it! Like with ZZ Top, Aerosmith was killer in the 70's. Their 80's and later stuff is awesome, but nothing compared to their 70's stuff!
70's Aerosmith the best!
Truer words have never been spoken
Amen!! Aerosmith had some great songs on this Lp from 1975!! This Lp had "Walk This Way" on the A side too!!😮😮😮😮
Yep! No question.
Their first 4 albums from the 70's are hands down the best. Thanks for this Harri.
Took the words right outa' my mouth 👍
Early Aerosmith is the best. Train Kept a Rollin' , “Same Old Song and Dance”, “Mama Kin”,“Back in the Saddle”,
Season's of Wither by Aerosmith is one of my favorites song of all time! Home Tonightis great too, both can almost make Me cry.

The 1976 “Rocks” album is their best to me. ‘Back in the Saddle’, ‘Last Child’, ‘No Body’s Fault’. They were at their Dionysian best ❤️🔥
The first album I ever bought at 14 years old. Excellent album.
@@nelliejewell2665 yeah I was the same age! I wore this album out 🥳
My first concert was their tour for the Rocks album. Second show was KiSS two yrs later. Third show Van Halen in 1981.
There are so many good Aerosmith songs from the early years! That's a rabbit hole you need to go down!
Early Aerosmith is the best. This whole album is super hot.
More 1970s AEROSMITH. Rats in the Cellar of the 1976 album ROCKS. Banger!

I concur! The Toxic Twins 😊
Nothing beats early Aerosmith… Boston native here listening since 1973
70's Aerosmith is waaaaaaaay better than their later stuff with this with this and Dream On - one of the all time greatest rock songs

Check out the unplugged performance of these songs, especially "Seasons of Wither." You won't be disappointed, I promise.
70s for these 😎 cats
That shake you hear is Steven Tyler shaking a sugar packet into the mic because they didn't have a maraca or rattle in the studio.
Harri...youve heard this.
There are 2 Areosmiths.
One that almost killed themselves from drugs, and one that got sober.
"Dream On" was 1973 (if you haven't done it yet)
Steven Tyler was rapping before there was rap.
This is great but check out Eyesight to the Blind. A great cover by this band.
