Thanks! Yeah we are aware of that but we were doing this video to show the capabilities of the Piranha Tooth Bar. It did an amazing job at cutting the red clay soil. Well worth the investment. Speaking of the box blade it does an awesome job as well. Its built like a tank. We bought it at Everything Attachments in North Carolina. Great American company to work with. Terry
Don Nagel it is removable and very easily. Only the two mounting bolts and its free. Then replace those two bolts and its back in business. Can not beat that. Terry
I agree but the purpose of this video was to demonstrate the use of the Piranha Tooth Bar. It was our first time using it so it took a bit for Brian to get the hang of it and I think he did quite well. The Piranha did an awesome job and we are very pleased with the purchase. It will save our bucket edge plus digging time which translates into money. Its a no brainer to buy this tool. Plus less time digging equals less fuel and wear on the tractor. Thanks for watching. Check back later for more videos showing how the Piranha does in other situations and comparisons. Terry
So the tooth bar definitely makes it possible to do a lot more dirt work then just the factory edge. But my question is why didn't you use your box blade to loosen the soil then come in and scoop it out?
Good to see you back working at the farm. I have never used a tooth bar. My first choice with a tractor like that would be to dig the soil with the backhoe that you probably should invest in. It’s a lot easier on the gear. Everyone has an opinion 😃. Thanks for the video.
That was fun to watch, mainly because I get to sit here in my house and relax watching it. I am wondering if it might have worked if you had broken up the soil with the rakes on your grader box?
Glad you liked it! Yeah we could have used the box blade to break things up first but in this video we wanted to show people how well the Piranha Tooth bar works and it did an amazing job in our opinion. Terry
Darn good job keeping that nice and level with the bucket - that's no small task! If you guys need a laser level, I've got a really nice Topcon RL-H4C setup you can borrow, just let me know (we're just north of Lake Robinson in Greenville Co, so not too far)
Thanks John! That is awesome about the laser level. May be talking with you soon. We have thought about buying one. Not cheap at all for a good one. Terry
Dont side load the loader too much, yes it cuts better but can bend things much faster, and I get showing off the tooth bar I had same on on my last tractor and its amazing but I would say run them ripper teeth to help save time and abuse on the tractor for the rest of it, I also had the same box blade from EA and definitely a tank. Got bigger tractor so sold them and now buying everything in 8ft+...thank God for OT hrs lol
I understand moving the house spot. Will you need to push the tree line back further? I forget which implements you got for the tractor. Have you considered a brushhog or grapple for dealing with the invasive bushes? We do not have a grapple but I wish we did for brush work. The brushhog does well for the multiflora rose that we have on the lower 10, but it does leave the mangled stumps. I’ll be interested in how the piranha tooth bar does.
Yeah we will be pushing the tree line back a bit. We have not purchased anything like a brush hog or grapple. Maybe in the future but right now we have a lot of expense going out with all we are doing. Trying to keep the spending under control. That's hard to do, lol! We will get a video up soon on the tooth bar ripping up some of those bushes. Terry
@@ForestToFarm Just curious, how far are you going to push the tree line back? We are going to have to do the same because we didn't leave enough room for the full depth/breath of the septic field. I'm totally with you on keeping the costs down, never enough time or money to do everything that needs done. When you get to the point I'd recommend looking into a grapple just because it is appears to be super useful for property maintenance type work. Check out some of Outdoors with the Morgans videos to see examples of using a grapple.
I am not sure exactly how far back initially, maybe 50 feet or so. In the future we may clear even more there and put in an orchard. Its all a work in progress and we change plans quite often, lol. Dear Brian & Terry, At long last the Kubota's extended holiday is coming to an end & now time to earn it's keep which I am sure will do admirably well. As a point of interest, given how rocky your soil is, might it not have been better to loosen it by using the back implement ( the raking teeth) & then lift the loose earth ( or dirt as call it)? It's looking promising, very well done. Kind regards.
Yeah we could do that and it makes good sense but we wanted to show people what the Piranha Tooth Bar was capable of and as far as we are concerned it does an awesome job!! Thanks! Terry

My tractor is the exact same as yours. I want to get a box blade but may get the piranha bar first. That thing looks awesome! Did you have to drill holes in the bucket to hold it on?
Both are great to have! Yes you have to drill two holes in the sides of the bucket. Some just use set screws to hold a bar on. I like the bolts better because its a much more secure fit and it will not shift around like set screws could do. We have a video showing the install in our Tractor playlist. We plan to do some more videos showing the Piranha Tooth Bar in action plus comparisons with and without the bar to see how it performs. Thanks for watching!! Terry

Thanks for sharing this video! I was eager to see how this model dugout the soil. I’m thinking about upgrading to the 2650 in order to dig out for a stone pad to park an RV trailer on. Question.... do you have your rear tires/wheels weighted with non corrosive liquid?? Thanks.
You are welcome! No we actually have nothing in the tires. The only ballast we have is in the box blade hanging off the back. It seems to do just fine. Brian, my son said it did feel a slight bit spongy on the front if the bucket was full but not anything he felt was a concern. You may already know this but from what I understand one reason for a blast is to take weight off the front axle by having extra weight on the rear of the tractor but then the pivot point taking that extra stress is your back axle/rear end. The back axle is much heavier duty so its able to handle the stress or so they say. Hope this helps. Terry
We actually love the rocks. We collect them when practical and have piles all over the place. They will be used for multiple purposes around the farm.
