I Think people that buy other brands rate it high because they believe what they are getting is good for the money they paid. But if you buy an expensive tv you expect a great or excellent experience.
I'm skeptical about the usefulness of that durability score. Samsung is the most popular TV brand so it has a lot of brand loyalty, but consumers probably aren't keeping them long enough to prove they are reliable in the long term or maybe they are failing after a few years and people are just assuming that's normal because they also buy a new phone every couple of years for a similar price. Throwaway culture and planned obsolescence have screwed things up. I have a 2012 model Samsung and it works perfectly, so I could say that Samsung is very durable, but we know that was a different era of manufacturing and doesn't translate to models sold today. Even the RTINGS longevity test has limitations. They can test the durability of components but they can't really simulate years of humidity cycles and dust accumulation and power abnormalities and other long term environmental impacts that can lead to failures.
All excellent points - how many years is the minimum benchmark for "durable"? 5 years or 8 or 3? If TV makers follow the rule of planned obsolescence then durability is happenstance beyond 3 years IMO

Not surprised about Sony sharing 3rd with Hisense and Vizio. People think it's an advantage for Sony if they can use Samsung or LG panels, among other hardware manufacturers. I see it as the biggest disadvantage. Just as they make themselves dependent on MediaTek chipsets and still can't offer customers four fully-fledged 4k@120 Hz HDMI ports. Not to mention all the driver problems with Mediatek chips. There was a reason why MediaTek chipsets were only used in entry-level motherboards.

Never once had an issue with Samsung tv's. LG on the otherhand has wronged me a few times. That said, I still went out and bought a 77" G3 based on picture quality and the 5 year burn in warranty.
I just had my 10-month-old 65” Sony crap out on me last week. I always had good luck with Sonys. You can't judge a brand just because of a recent bad experience. I'll buy another Sony again. Mostly because of the Service. I called them about my problem, and they walked me through some reset procedures and immediately determined the TV needed to be replaced. Sent them some pictures of Proof of purchase and they agreed to refund my purchase price. No problems.
I really wanted to go for Samsung QN90D as I need a small tv 50 or under with good HDR, but have seen so many reports online of Samsung and that TV in particular being faulty that I am scared to make the move. The only other real option seems to be a 48 inch C4 oled, but some say it is too dim, driving me nuts.
@@wobble108 I went for the LG in the end, gave me an Xbox series x for £80 too, I am blown away by the colours and image every day, love it. It could maybe be brighter in highlights, but with perfect contrast, deep colours and a decent brightness it is beautiful, I have never known an image so good.
My Samsung Q80R TV needed to be repaired shortly after the warranty period expired. Not impressed. Never had any issues with CRT TVs, but tons of problems with LCD TVs. It's more like a lottery when buying.
Good for those people. But not in my experience. Had 4 Samsung TVs (2 were defective on arrival) and 2 didn’t even make it past 48 hours. Lines of dead pixels. Pink screen. Half the screen dead. One didn’t even turn on. Exchanged for a Sony. Also have a Vizio that works fine, however, it’s starting to go out after 7 years. Have had Samsung refrigerators die within a few months. Samsung phones die within 6 months. Will not spend any money directly on Samsung products going forward. They are dead to me.
Really that’s crazy I have had just the opposite with Samsung. Most dependable TV’s I’ve had besides old pioneer plasma’s. Have had a few Samsungs and all have been pretty bulletproof. Leave them on all the time never shut them off. I have a 2010 model led one of the first Samsung made that I want to die but it won’t. Kids leave it on 24/7 it just keeps going and has suffered not one problem not 1 pixel. I had a 65 inch 2016 model Samsung led that I left on for 7 years never turning off I would leave it on while I was gone and fall asleep and wake up with it still on. Finally died after 7 years of abuse and I picked up an 85 in QLed that has been flawless and has far outperformed my expectations. Samsung makes some gorgeous TV’s just stay away from the low end models. Oh ya have a 2012 Samsung plasma still going strong but hasn’t been used in a few years
@@garrettstrutz7421 I just have the worst luck with Korean goods. I have an LG clothes washer that I’ve had to replace parts on it twice in the 4 years owned. But I’m willing to give an LG oled a try.
I have not had any issues with Samsung phones recently. My daughter had her Samsung Galaxy S4 or S5 overheat and crack the screen in her backpack at school for no reason, less than a month after I paid $100 to replace the screen. That did piss me off. That was like 12 years ago. Since then, Samsung has lasted way longer than 6 months. My Samsung Galaxy S6 lasted 4+ years. It ran out of storage (even with using a micro SD card) and the OLED color didn't look well at the end. It also started to falsely report I was using Int'l roaming data min, when I was in Augusta, GA (which definitely is no where near any Int'l borders, lol). It worked well for about 2 to 3 years. I wish I had upgraded it sooner. My Samsung Note 10 was a great phone and died 3+ years after I got it in Nov, 2019. There was no fault with the phone at all, though. I dropped the phone on a ceramic dog dish and it broke the screen in a spot where I couldn't enter my password, making it DOA. I replaced it with a Samsung S23 Ultra and it is currently working excellent. The major improvement is the battery life. It's also a little brighter and has 5G service compared to the Note 10. If I hadn't broken the screen, I would probably still be using the Note 10.
R/4ktv is the absolute dumbest place to go for tv advice. They are seriously a joke. The mods are sooo stupid answers every question with the same answer and bans whoever disagrees or likes Samsung.
I know I had 2020 43 inch TCL picture dim quite bit which was replaced with a new TCL. I am hoping this was just bad egg, instead of a bigger problem with TCL TVs in general.
I have both Samsung and LG TVs and can tell you the experience with their customer service and product of LG is far superior for me. It's about the whole package for me. Not just the specs.
I will say only one thing - recently there were floods in Japan and they showed the water in the city coming out of the subways. It looked so clean that you thought it was a fake image. There wasn't one piece of trash anywhere. It was absolutely insane. I was also in the heart of Tokyo and I realized with my family that it was dead quiet even with the traffic. You could not hear one driver honking, one wheel spinning fast, one person braking. I thought to myself -how is this possible? This survey just shows that at least 50% of the people in this country are unable to evaluate something as simple as a TV.
I have a Sony kdl-43w808c that it's running very well with very good picture quality. And I have a Samsung ue32k5500 that had to replace the display under warranty and now has a tiny horizontal line malfunctioning on the display! I always had Sony Tv's, i think reliability of Sony are better than Samsung. That is different from customer satisfaction!
Hi FOMO, I'm from the UK and have been watching your videos reviews for a while, which have been great so far, I was looking around for my new TV upgrade and now just purchased the TCL from Curry's its the 2024 new version Model TCL 85C855K 85" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR Mini LED TV priced at £1,999.00 really good deal the TV has 2304 local dimming zones and 3500 Nit Ultra High Brightness, supporting all - Dolby Vision and Dolby Vision IQ - HDR10+ - HDR10 - Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) I'm looking forward to my new Toy Lol. I need to get the best picture quality have you got any input settings I can apply to achieve this could you help and give me an easy instruction guide would appreciate it if you can cheers.
Samsung is most shittest my 8k 75 Q900Rat gone brink and I spend 6k on it. Samsung I am not going back ever in my life. Just bought 83 Lg G4 and I love every bit of it.
Low buck Hisense can figure out how to respect industry standards like Dolby Vision and DTS pass through but Samsung can't. Nope. I don't care who rates them highest for whatever. I've personally had more trouble with Samsungs locking up Vizios pulling uncommanded restarts than any other brand. I've seen none of this from LG, Sony, and TCL. Samsung is a top tier brand demanding a top tier price. Part of being top tier is adhering to standards and Samsung isn't getting that done. They're fired until they do.
Hello Stop The FOMO, I have a Brand new 75" TCL QM8 had to return it because of the worst dirty screen effect I have ever seen in my life they grey ripples could be seen on all screen backgrounds and the replacement they sent me is just as bad. I will NOT buy TCL again. This one is going back too for a full refund.
Type in any brand followed by reliability problems. All come back with a wealth of problems and people who hate them. It can cause paralysis going too deep. For me you buy it and the test beckons the customer service, usually by the retailer if it breaks. Do the same with cars and it’s the same thing.
Given that LG's marketing budget is much less than Samsung's, it's pretty great that LG won last year no? Obviously, confirmation bias always plays a part in all surveys like this but it's definitely more insightful than nothing at all! Additionally, I suspect TCL will rise in the ranks in the coming years regardless of their marketing budget.
@@stopthefomo TCL has improved their quality over the past couple of years significantly. The fact that Vizio is up there blows my mind from the perspective of someone who sold TVs until a few months ago.
@stopthefomo well that is disappointing. In Australia, the warranty on Sony, Samsung, LG is 1 year (too short for "premium" brand) and 3 years for Hisense and TCL (about right, I think) All the "other" cheap brands are 1 year. I factor in the warranty in any purchase of tech. Features, Performance, and (Price ÷ warranty) = VALUE ranking. 👍
Confirmed the 77A95L does not have the Generation 3 panel at all and not from any date past or present. Reginal Rep contacted the National rep who knows the77A95L product line and he said only 2nd Generation. You need to be careful of what you are saying about the 3rd generation panel on the A95L model after a certain date or whenever . Show the proof or you are false advertising for yourself or affiliates. Think about it, they run out of 2nd generation panel than the S90D will also have the 3rd generation also. Bad FOMO.
@@garyjinks7482 Not really. Samsung is 30% of the market for all TVs and everyone else is just under 70% combined. In OLED, Samsung sold about a million TVs, which was 22.7% of the OLED market.
I remember watching Charbax at Display Week talking to the team behind Quantum Dot. And later I saw a video by you about the same team. i think I have been watching you since you had less than 10K subscribers? And I started watching you as I was thinking about buying a TV. But now I have just realised that I bought my used 4K LG from EBay just after moving here which was 10 years ago. So I have no idea how old it is. So tell me, do TV's look any better, because the quality of image hasn't seem to have improved whilst I have been watching your channel!!🤪

Great video buddy, I really enjoyed it. Can't believe Vizio is still mentioned. I guess some people do get a decent quality controlled Vizio TV ha ha ha ha hab😂😅.
samsung media player is so trash tho. codec issues and random mkv files wont play. some plays but cant choose which sound track(I'm hearing other languages, director's commentary). overall SUPER trash. samsung remotes are ass too. meanwhile my lg nanocell from 5 years ago plays ANY video file I throw in there without any issue. the magic remote is the best. this is not enough to go return the 83" oled I got just to get an LG but if I knew this I wouldn't have bought the Samsung oled...........
I got the s90c 77 inch in April 2024 the screen went out last month. Samsung replaced the screen, but 4 months that's awful. Same thing happened to my q80b after 12 months. I will never do samsung again.
Samsung used to be my go-to brand for TVs and still is for some people, but personally, I will never buy a Samsung TV again. Their build quality is terrible; I’ve had two models (KS8000 and AU8000) that both stopped working after just one year of daily use. This was due to the glue holding the back cover to the screen coming loose. An insect even managed to crawl under the screen, got squashed, and I had no way to remove it, leaving a permanent black spot in the middle of the display. This year, I chose the LG G4, and I’ve never been happier with a TV purchase. I will definitely stick with LG in the future. A 5-year warranty on a TV is rare these days, and the build quality clearly reflects its high standard. Not to mention the addition of Dolby Vision and support for all DTS formats. Oh, and lets not forget that Samsung uses LG's OLED panels for their top tier TVs such as S90 and S95C.
Sorry, FOMO. For me, this is the least informative video you’ve posted. Without a better understanding of the data, and knowing who responded to the survey, this was a waste of time. “Other” brand owners might be a group who are thrilled they replaced their tube or 720/1080p TV. If so, any modern 4K is significantly better than their former model. I’m happy for everyone who is enjoying their new TV. But all consumer opinions are not equal; just like all “TV influencers” are not equal. This was your “one off” for me; keep up your good work, FOMO.
This makes no sense! Samsung has gone way down in quality, tcl has gone way up. Plus it has to be biased on lower end products as well as other factors that lend to promote the BiG 3 or companies that offer more models. I’d bet $20 tcl goes way up on the 2025 survey 🎉
But look at the "all others" ranking 2nd with LG! So for them to rank above Sony and equal to LG tells me that only Samsung did well among the Big 3 while the rest are all similar in overall quality.
People who say Samsung quality has gone down are just plain wrong. Samsung has continued to get better and offer more models for different people to choose. Samsung makes some of the best middle to upper end TV’s you can buy. Samsung makes Excellent quality products and super cheap products. Samsung haters make no sense
@@stopthefomo Good point. Here in Dubai, where I live, Samsung drops prices so fast that they somehow force buyers to purchase their products, even if they don't need them. I'm actually buying two 4K 43-inch Neo G7 monitors since the price dropped. I wasn’t planning to get new displays, as I bought my Odyssey G7 32-inch 4K 144Hz about four months ago. Just making a point here-I didn’t need new displays, but now I want them. On a global scale, it’s the same thing, which is honestly good for customers.

Another UA-cam video with a title that has nothing to do with content. Based on multiple people who have owned Samsung TVs, least reliable compared to Sony which is most reliable. There is a reason why Samsung was the least expensive, and not having Dolby Vision and relatively decent power supplies. Of course TCL may have moved Samsung out of the limelight for the unreliable, but Samsung is a popular name.
LOL The content talks about ranking the listed TVs from a survey that also INCLUDES reliability aka durability but there's no way I can fit all 15 metrics in the title. Depends on your budget but if you go LCD TV for size, go with a Samsung like the QN90C or QN90D for its Game Motion Plus (it makes 60FPS look like 120 with minimal game lag) and if you're budget is a bit more, definitely Samsung S90D 55" to 77" or LG G4 any size.

Im shopping for a new tv right now because my samsung broke after 2-3 years of minimal use. Ironic it got #1
Never once had an issue with Samsung tv's. LG on the otherhand has wronged me a few times. That said, I still went out and bought a 77" G3 based on picture quality and the 5 year burn in warranty.
😂😅sounds about right 😅
I just had my 10-month-old 65” Sony crap out on me last week.
Same here. And a lot of lg oled panels are failing...and that's not burn in.
I bought a 40" sony 1080p bravia tv in 2014, still work today. Now i just got a 65" sony 4k bravia.
Lol r/4KTV would lose their minds and remove any threads with this!
The 5 years of warranty on the G & M Series panels actually means something.
I still have my Sony 43w756c. The same panel just without the 3d. Still going strong.

Keep it going!
Since the scores are so close to each other 79-82 (other than Samsung at 84) - isn't that pretty negligible differences?
I think 1 pt difference is negligible but from 84 to 79 is significant
How much did Samsung pay to be #1? 😂
Samsung shits all over LG, always has and always will. The S95D is also overall better than the G4.

Type in any brand followed by reliability problems. All come back with a wealth of problems and people who hate them. It can cause paralysis going too deep. For me you buy it and the test beckons the customer service, usually by the retailer if it breaks. Do the same with cars and it’s the same thing.
Quite frankly it doesn't sound like the data from this is really worth that much aside from learning which brand has the best marketing.

When is U9N review coming 😊🎉?
SOON
What about factoring in the length of the warranties and price?
nearly all warranty length (in the USA at least) is 1 year with the exception of Hisense which is 2 years and LG G series (5 year panel replacement)
@stopthefomo well that is disappointing. In Australia, the warranty on Sony, Samsung, LG is 1 year (too short for "premium" brand) and 3 years for Hisense and TCL (about right, I think)
All the "other" cheap brands are 1 year.
I factor in the warranty in any purchase of tech.
Features, Performance, and (Price ÷ warranty) = VALUE ranking. 👍
When is your U9N review, Fomo? 💥 🎮 🏁
Finally got it unboxed and it begins this week!
Bad FOMO.
I can't see this being very accurate. All I know is when I went to get rid of my folks broken Philips TV the dump was full of Samsung and hisense TVs

But now I have just realised that I bought my used 4K LG from EBay just after moving here which was 10 years ago.
So I have no idea how old it is. So tell me, do TV's look any better, because the quality of image hasn't seem to have improved whilst I have been watching your channel!!🤪
@@annakissed3226 OLED image quality has gotten brighter but overall OLED still looks 90% the same when watching TV shows and streaming - it's only in the latest bright HDR content that the newest OLED TVs make a difference! I got the s90c 77 inch in April 2024 the screen went out last month. Samsung replaced the screen, but 4 months that's awful. Same thing happened to my q80b after 12 months. I will never do samsung again.
Tbh all to close to even warrant choosing a tv over this survey lol
LG by a long shot.
They sell more, simple
They sold EVEN MORE last year but LG was No.1 - also selling more means more people can complain about problems so it's a double edged sword!

Sony may drop further in 2025 !
Other Titles could've been "Samsung Wins Overall Quality Beating LG Sony" but then I'd be accuse of being a Samsung shill or if I said "Samsung Wins ACSI TV Survey" then people would say "WTF is ACSI ??".
@@stopthefomo A title which says reliable is misinforming. The title which says Samsung wins consumer survey, is more appropriate. There is one element of that survey that conveys durability, and no supporting info other than this is what consumers say and it’s not a Consumer Reports like evaluation, or RATINGS like either.
