Yeah, I remember my conversation with Veronika from a few years ago, and she has become even more native like in that time. Really really high levels achieved here (by both of you!)
@@ivanrevkov843 What are you talking about? She _is_ a native speaker of English. She has always been! That said, some native speakers do need to learn grammar and work on their language. They are often plagued with these: too many informal words (get, like, etc.), confusion between tenses or pronouns, wrong pronunciation of some words, etc. Such mistakes are often a dead giveaway that a person is a native-speaker of English. The way sounds are pronounced is a dead giveaway too even if we fake it. It will get through anyway. Just little, tiny things, micro-cadences give away that a person is not telling the truth or faking the language. You can fake it both ways. You can try pretending that English is not your native language, or when it is actually a foreign language for you, you can pretend it is your native language (if your level and accent faking skills are high enough to pull such tricks). Smart people and those who pay attention will see through it. Just an opinion. There are a lot of people on the Internet who can sound almost like a native speaker of English sometimes virtually indistinguishable from real Americans or Brits. They are very popular and get a lot of hype. So why think that no American or Brit can pull off a similar trick pretending that he/she is a foreigner who miraculously mastered English? I saw such people just as well. They also get a lot of hype. Again, just an opinion. You, folks, are entitled to believe whatever you choose to believe. Let me clue you in on one little detail: 20% of Americans speak with a foreign accent (relatively recent immigrants), and almost 10% speak a different language (their native language) at home. Something to remember. Yet she speaks with a fake accent or no accent at all. Fake cadences, I'd say.
@@vogditis you could train yourself to sound almost native like level with a good feedback and hardwood, maybe 6 month of everyday work for one two hours a day. But why would you want to do that? Spending so much time on something that is hard to sustain and to achieve in the first place. Al there will be always some small details that will give you away. The problem with Veronika that she got carried away with the idea that she'd become a native like speaker and no matter what she does , she hasn't and she won't. No matter how many empty claims she makes
@@vogditis sorry, I am not quite sure how what you wrote has anything to do with my comment. My point was that Veronika has claimed she spoke and sounded at a native level , which is totally a lie. I'll pin it on her. I accept any accents , be it a Russian, Chinese, Indian, Australian and so on. But I don't accept this bullshit " look at me, I speak like a native" , she is clearly not!
@@vogditis" your point is that Veronika has an accent". No, my point that she falsly claimed to speak like a native. I don't like her marketing where you foster this idea of becoming native like. All these speak like a native video. All these things just to get views and money. She folsifies the idea of learning a language which is not to be a native like but to communicate successfully
I've been following Veronica for many years and I have to say that she's improved A LOT!! She sounds like a native speaker to me and has also been growing as a human being....thanks a lot for this inspiring conversation👏👏👏
Thank you so much. All of the videos that you produce are really helpful to me. I truly appreciate it. I love the way you speak, your thinking, and how you present in your videos. Veronika Mark is also great. Thank you both.
As always Lois, very good content and advice for people like me who are trying to learn a language. This girl's experiences and tips are very interesting. She demonstrates intelligence and liveliness. Thank you.
Sorry, no, she doedn't sound like a native English speaker from anywhere. Her vocabulary and grammar are great, but her Russian accent is apparent in almost every word. And that is just fine. She sounds good and it is important to make it accepted to have an accent: nobody really needs to sound like a native speaker unless there is some reason to fool people. It's a lovely achievement, but not realistic for most people and not necessary. Loïs, on the other hand, sounds more like a native to the area of the US where I am from than do most native born transplants from other regions. Only very rarely does his pronunciation give away that he's not a native speaker.
She’s like, totally achieved a lot like WOW! Yet I just can't wrap my head around how she’s still making mistakes even here and then and teaching people. Nobody spotted any? Mistakes are totally cool when you're a learner, for sure. But having a UA-cam channel to teach people?
To be completely honest, while her English is impressive for a non-native speaker her responses to his questions were not very impressive. He asked some brilliant questions that, had she actually answered what he was asking, would’ve been really helpful. Very disappointing.
Thank you so much for inviting me! It was a pleasure talking to you 🌼
My pleasure!

2) listen to sports instructions in
target language.

She sounds clear and nice though no way she would pass for a native speaker. But who cares

Passing herself as a native is so wrong in many ways
Slavic women are the best, the most beautiful and best!
I agree 🤤 But next brazilians
To each his own😉
I wish she'd answered more profoundly it seems that she's all about cliches

I totally agree
What’s the difference? Her job is to learn English 😂😂😂😂
