I've watched thousands of videos from youtubers who upload language-related contents since I really wanna get the best advice. But you're my favorite one and i just love the way you talk.

you have literally enlightened my light on my way of speaking. I have always spoken in a low pace even in French(native) and actually I speak the same ways in other languages lol😅 in fact, I have tried to speed it up however I can’t reach it at all 😂. thank you for you contents as usual , I really feel anki is so boring 😑 do you know other ways to replace it? any recommendations. I’m currently thinking about what I didn’t reach out my english goal from last year: MAYBE:
1-i haven’t spoken enough even though I have pratically spoken 1 hour per day except during the weekend.
2-maybe I haven’t read enough, I’m not a fan of reading books especially when there aren’t any pictures, i prefere BD 😂
3-maybe i was too focused to try to understand when to use present perfect even though I know when to use it grammatically but still make mistakes when I speak it
4-when i speak I tend to use the same redundant basic sentences,words,expressions- I output less than i know
5-i add so many words that is impossible for me at the end of the day to go over them, get overwhelmed and start falling asleep
6-i don’t really like write epecially since I had carpian tunnel , i enjoy more speaking and listening is obvious as clear crystal and also that’s the reason way i started learning languages
7-i love english grammar but some tenses or grammar don’t want to stick in my mind , should i do more exercices?
8-i still have some difficulties to get the main point when the topic is more specific , there are so many topics that i want to learn, it’s endless , languages are endless because that changes often new words, slangs, expressions, an so on.
9-despite people consider me as an intermediate english speaker i’m still block on numbers , i don’t really know why but when i listen to a video my brain block directly when it hear numbers in general. i do some exercices to improve it for sure but still don’t know the reason
my coach told me i’m too obsessed with getting good at english and keep telling me to relax 😎 but I can’t because i’m working on becoming an English homework assistant so the relaxation will be at the end of my achievements hehe 😉
thank you and please keep it up with your effective videos 🌺

I've watched multiple videos you've uploaded!Thank you for great tips and sharing ideas^_^
So, I have a question. Since you learned English at school for 7 years and you mentioned that you were pretty good at the end. I assume you meant you had good grades.
My question is that do you think you would have reached this far in term of English skills even if you hadn't studied English at school for 7 years?
I'm a native Japanese speaker and I wonder if I would have been at this level without having studied at school.
I'm asking you this question because you speak multiple languages which you didn't learn at school. Were other language acquiring processes any different from when you acquired English?

First, one must inoculate themselves against English teachers, specific ones, who are unfortunately, like me. They have these great ideas which turn out to be complete bullshit based on selling you something, like Comprehensible Input. The childlike fascination of a native English speaker who DISCOVERS a foreign language is amazing! The Marketing power of British and American people makes it sound SO believable but, you're being sold, had, defrauded, in 90% of cases. What I did was simply ask, «How do we learn anything and everything?». The medusa in the skull cage only learns in two ways: Logical deduction by analytical context AND emotional response to one of six major stimuli groups. The way nature of English Grammar is something you should use as a ruler of what NOT to do. I can prove my points, if asked. I enjoy this teacher. He makes sense. I am anti-flash card, anti-CI and most of the other shit which doesn’t work long term.

Learning a second language without using a native language also creates a very long lasting language skill.
I will use my friend as an example.
As a teen he lived in Germany while his father was stationed there on a US military base.
For a while he stayed on base, and though he took German as a class, he didn't learn much.
Then he hooked up with a local gang of German teens. I do mean "a gang", as they did some illegal mischievous activities.
He became very fluent in a couple of years.
And that was about 50 years ago. He doesn't use German living in US, but he still remembers most of it.

      What is that ?
If you want to be near native, don't learn through translation.
All ESL teaching is done in English exclusively.
Those who learn English using their native language NEVER become proficient.

Tell me, why did you choose American English over British?

    • @loistalagrand
      @loistalagrand  3 місяці тому +8

No particular reason. There's just more American content that is produced, and this is what I studied with.

    • @Alec72HD
      @Alec72HD 12 днів тому +1

Only 12% of native English speakers understand British deviation.
American English is closer to Authentic English that existed 200 years ago, and almost 80% of native speakers use American version.

If we are talking about adults who have a very dominant native language L1, ANY use of L1 will impede the development of English.
Languages COMPETE and dominant language wins.
Children don't have such overwhelming dominance of L1 in their psyche, they can simultaneously develop 2 languages.
