Looks great to me! Just a quick question - how does the X AIR series of mixers perform if they lose connection to the control device? Do they just carry on as they were set before connection was lost? I ask because I'm investigating using one in a scenario without an operator, set up and left "headless" without a control device to provide PA requirements in a place where it isn't appropriate to leave controls available. Would that work? Or would it stop working once the control is disconnected?
+Mark Fletcher If for some reason your control device becomes disconnected from your mixer for any reason, the mixer will continue to operate exactly the way it was when the disconnect happened. So all you need to do is re-connect to your mixer and you should be up and running again in no time.
Did you have a guide who show how to use Rj45 cable connection for secure connection at the same time send out wifi to cell phone for adjust personal monitor mix
in regards to multiple units, I was able to run a xair 18 and x air 16 simultaneously with two different ipads... we use the 16 channel for drums and percussion then run a stereo out to two channels on the x air 18. .. works like a charm!!
If i have saved setting for a place and the next time i play there the wifi channel i saved it to is crowded is there a way i can change it with out starting over again?
Yes you can, it's possible to change the broadcast channel of your X AIR's internal WIFI from the X AIR software/apps in the Internal Networking Preferences menu when connected to your mixer.
Hi John, I use XR18 and an X-touch using an external router, connected to my MacBook Pro with USB/LAN adapter, and everything is works fine, but if I need to use internet so I need to join my mobile phone shared network for example, then I need to unplug my LAN/USB adapter from my MacBook and the internet starts working by wifi after that. Is it possible to use the wifi connection with my mobile phone's shared internet and the LAN connection use to control the XR18 via a router? Thank you very much!
Hi guys. Had a gig last night and due to the number of other wifi devices I couldn't connect to my x18 at all..is there anyway to change its internal router wifi channel if you can't connect at all? Assume no unless hardwired via ethernet? Tks
At a real gig be sure to have wired connections always. At a real gig it is unwise to depend soly on wireless connections. Any live sound engineer will tell you that. There is no way to know upfront how wireless wifi signals will behave when there is a room filled with people with cellphones
after i did a mix wich i am satisfied on it, can save and when we use the mixer can we use it without connoting a computer or any remote device such iPad or tablet ???
Not sure if you can recommend an external router, but could you tell me what I should be looking for in one? I've seen price ranges from $30-$300. Thank you
The best routers we've seen currently are dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and operate on the G/B/N and AC networking spectrums. AC is the most recents and powerful available. Hope this helps!
Hi there, i'm just in the process of buying one of these...first digital mixer. Going to try the X12. Just wondered what differences this has other than fewer channels? Also we play music from a tablet...could this be sent wirelessly from the unit we use to control the mixer from?
Glad to hear you are interested in the X AIR Digital Mixers! Please check out website for more specific details on the different models of X AIR Mixers: www.music-group.com/Categories/Behringer/Mixers/Digital-Mixers/c/1234111?group=Digital%20Mixers&colExpFlag=,Digital%20Mixers The wireless feature of X AIR is specifically for controlling the unit, not for transmitting audio. But you can always plug your tablet device directly into the Mixer and then find a way to control that wirelessly. Hope this helps!
Hi... I live on a private island in the Exuma Cays, known as Compass Cay. Here, we don't have the luxury of having a dial up internet service with the local provider so having WI-FI is out of the question. I tried asking questions to a few online providers such as sweetwater but I haven't gotten a reply as yet, sooo, understanding that this mixer has an integrated WI-FI module, does this mean that I can connect my iPad to it's WI-FI or use a direct connection with a Ethernet cable and it'll work just find? Please be very specific! Thank You!
+Raj Saunders That is correct, there is no internet connection needed the device will provide it's own WiFi network that any WiFi enable device can connect too

Hi! I've have kinda problem. When I'm home, go to connect to the XR WiFi with my Ipad 2, and control it, no problem at all. But, after a while, my Ipad display goes off, like it always does because no interaction with the device, and automatically connects to my house WiFi. So when I sweep the screen to control it, I have to connect one again to the XR WiFi... every single time... what am I doing wrong? Is there a way to make the Ipad to connect to the XR WiFi always?? Thanks!
This is a limitation of your iPad device's operating system. We recommend removing any unused (remembered) networks from your iPad's list of networks to choose from (preferred networks) but you can also try going to you iPad's Wi-Fi Settings and enabling the "Ask to Join Networks" feature to see if this helps prevent your device from jumping to alternate networks.

+BEHRINGER thanks, it worked, glad to have response from you. Cheers!
I have connected to the X Air. What I can't find is the menu that allows me to put the password into the Wi-Fi. Help please! I have an android device. What am I missing?
That is not a device specific question. You can always preamp a miccropone level signal to get it up to line signal levels. You need to use an external preamp. Simplest way to do this is ad an old analog mixer, put micropnes in there and use the out signals like L/R and aux outputs. route only one mic to one aux send output or L or R main and connect those outputs to yur line in in you digital mixer. Keep the equilizer and other build in things in the analog mixer neutral to avoid making it more difficult. :)
IPlayBass1991 Range will vary depending on your location and your surroundings but the internal WiFi has been known to work at over 50 feet typically and sometimes even upwards of 100 feet, even through walls!
To everyone here: It is a nice behringer video and I love behringer for its price versus quality in all their equipment BUT just use a good external router. The build in wifi is crappy and not reliable. It is a gimmick they would have better kept out to not confuse people
hi, few questions about xair XR18 is there any way to connect 2 XR18 mixers together, to get more channels? is there tlakback function in software ? can i listen single channels through software on headphones? can i listen main audio mix & AUX on headphones...? i know that there is lot of different functions in different type of software but im planning to use PC version only im planning to buy it, its time to move from mx9000 :D regards.
+MR_OVERCLOCK Thanks for reaching out to us! Per your questions... "Is there any way to connect 2 XR18 mixers together, to get more channels?" -No, these are meant to be standalone mixers with a maximum of 18 input channels. For more channels you should consider moving up to our X32 line of digital Mixers. "Is there talkback function in software ?" -No, this is not available with these mixers. "Can i listen single channels through software on headphones?" -Yes, this is the intended design of the "SOLO" function in the X AIR software / Apps. "Can i listen main audio mix & AUX on headphones...?" -Yes, you can select what channels to Monitor in your headphones by adjusting the Monitor setting in the SETUP preferences and then clicking the MONITOR tab.
John, I've been able to secure the network via iPad. For some reason, I've still never been able to connect through the access point on my Macbook pro, therefore I'm unable to update the firmware, and also control the mixer with my laptop. Is there anything you can suggest to alleviate this problem?
+afincaomuzik Could you please provide us with some more information? Is the X AIR's built in network showing up in your list of available networks on your Macbook? If not then make sure you have the switch in the remote section on the front of the unit set to Access Point and be sure that your antenna is secure attached to the front of the mixer.
+BEHRINGER It shows up on my available networks but it won't connect. It wouldn't connect without a password, and now that I've secured the network, it's the same problem.
I have a Behringer X18 and am having problems with the wifi connection. Both the internal and the external router disconnecting all the time. Can you help me?

Richard Penrose, those apps are 3rd party so we don't have one in particular to suggest, but please check in the App Store and on Google Play to find one that may work well for you!
Thanks for the video. I was really frustrated after 2.gig test last Friday and nothing seems to work ( ipad over XR-18 wifi Access point and open network). I believed there was a failure with the unit itself. However, I was able to solve all problems by anongst other seeing this video, installing the PC program and do all the settings from here. (tried via the Ipad first, but without success. As Martinez pointed out, the "apply" onscreen button on the ipad App does not work. In addition, the PC program is much, much better than the Ipad App and adds more features. Now, I have 3 options and backup if something should go wrong during a gig.
+manticore101 Glad you found this video helpful! Remember that when you change settings in your X AIR control devices you will still have to remember to reset the internal AP, either by power cycling the unit or by flipping the REMOTE Switch on the front of the unit from AP to Ethernet for 10 seconds, then flip it back to AP.
Hi, my iPad mini connects to the wifi created by my x air but when I open the app my x air 12 doesn't appear. It does appear on the iPad I've been using since I got the X Air but I need to replace it as it's quite old. Anyone have this issue? Any ideas how I solve the problem?
+Paul Wagstaffe Did you make sure you iPad Mini is indeed connect to your X AIR's network? Sometimes iPads will automatically try to connect to an alternate networks with internet connection. Have you tried uninstalling the app completely from your iPad Mini and re-installing it on your device?
Richard Penrose, there are Android and iPad apps available that allow you to determine congestion and availability of WiFi frequencies in your immediate area. They are 3rd party and not provided by us so we don't have any specific apps to recommend, but see which ones work best for you!

This is useless. No instructions on where to download software or an ip address to get into the unit itself to set up the xair. where do we get the app and whats it called? geez
