RIP beautiful backstretch stands
I remember this like it was yesterday
That was actually a pretty hard hit Jr. took from Johnson on Jr’s door.
The good ole days of nascar. Look at all the people
#BuckeyeNation 16 Boring racing running single file till the last lap
@@shilpi326 It was only like that during this race because this was the first race after they re-paved the track. This race was still pretty exciting because at one point Junior cut a tire down and went a lap down and he somehow made it back to the front despite them running single file.
Real Slim Dale Jr. was on another level at Talladega when he was with DEI.
Dumped the most popular driver in the sport AND his teammate in one move. lol.
Miss these cars, miss BP, can’t believe this has been 14 years ago. Crazy. Still $hit myself watching vickers dump jimmy even now
anyone else think Kasey Kahne should have been given the win?
Vickers got payback to Johnson for wanting off the Hendricks teak. He hooked Johnson but took out Junior also. Kasey Kahne won that race. He beat Vickers to the line. If I were Junior, I would have been pissed with the Hendrick boys wrecking him on the last lap.
Why? It was a racing incident.. Johnson went to pass, and Vickers moved to follow too soon. Hooked Johnson, typical Dega wreck. Its happend before, will probably happen again..
Look at the people in the stands, its not like that anymore rip nascar
FNH SCAR 17 um, you're a dumbass, the grandstands were very full in this year's Daytona 500
When I was 10 I thought Kahne in the 9 car was the baddest looking car on the track.😂
Especially the Mopar car
God that Mopar car was fucking gorgeous! Still pissed I could never find the die cast of it.. At least I got his Mountain Dew and Early Dodge schemes..
As much as I enjoy this NASCAR racing, everyone in the comments please respect today’s racing. It’s actually good too when it comes to superspeedway racing.
Dame the grandstand were still filled in 2008 I was still going to live events at that point😀😀😎
2 years later
Jr: *And I took that personally*
Such a wild finish! The NASCAR today is garbage, the cars are garbage! The sport is nothing like how it was in the late 1990s & early 2000s. NASCAR has become Formula one!
Adventure Sonic Except at Daytona and Talladega of course. I saw a photo Finish at 2019
I remember watching this live and the cameras having to cut off immediately when he entered victory circle. Everyone was chanting “BULLSHIT!” at the top of their lunges.
Woah this is literally in Next gen HD
One of my TOP 10 FAVORITE Talladega Finishes........
Same
This is why Vickers had the shortest career possible
His career continued for another 10 years after this...
Extremely chad move from Vickers, honestly.
Either Kasey Kahne or Kurt Busch should've won that to be honest.
I might've been the only person to like the result of this race.
I was 7 at the time, My Dad asked me who he should take in his pool and I said to take Vickers cause I felt bad that he wasn't going to be in the 25 in just a few races. The rest is history!
O
I dont like the playoff/chase format but this Chase format wasnt bad
Single file? Wow, everybody would be so butt hurt today if that’s how the last 10 laps went.
It was because this was the first race after they re-paved it, it was hard to pass.
Still cant believe they just ran single file until the back stretch.
Who Won Brian Vickers Or Kasey Kahne
I miss this
The quality is beautiful
BeetleRobin4753 even though it was back in 2006
I remember this race as though it were yesterday--Man was I pulling for JR.! Vickers was way too green to be racing with JR & JJ in a Cup Points related Race. There's nothing like restrictor-plate races--nothing close!
Junior wasn't in the chase so it really didn't matter for him.
I wish this challenge was included in Nascar Thunder 08.
This pit stop cost jeff Burton the championship
He lost the championship by 242 points how did just this cost him?
@@andygrooms4641 He was the leader at that point.
TheLocalLt Jeff Burton sucks at NBC booth
Martinsville was No Better
This Happens When I Was 13 Years Old In The 8th Grade When Brian Vickers Broken Dale Earnhardt,Jr Fans Heart ❤️. Very Very Stunness For Dale Earnhardt, Jr Fans.
I remember crying at the end of this race, I was 6 and a huge jr fan, remember I was so sad jr lost.
This happened on my sixth birthday, and I remember everything about the time that Vickers won the race with Jr. and Johnson wrecked, and I was a Jimmie Johnson fan that was stunned by the outcome of the race.
Double file restarts of today are better
Mike Murphy Plus the Giant ass spoilers and tapered spacer made a higher acceleration and 550 Horsepower
Every time I see this footage I know for sure that Vickers did it on purpose because he knew Kahne wouldn't push him to the win and there is no way he could pass the 8 on his own. Completely bush league.
8:05 This Is Going Crazy
I remember this race my sisters were not happy when jr was spun hah
You wanna know how big of an impact this had on me. I'm 24 I watched this race when I was 7 I still hate Brian Vickers to this day. Jr was my and still probably is my favorite racer. I saw this and I cracked the windshield of my Brian Vickers die-cast car I think I might have smashed the hood too. This race made me so angry.
Amazing how they didn't flip
still to this day that will be biran vickers only win in the super speedway and his last win in his nascar career
Man I wonder how Rick Hendrick what’ve been like
Hendrick felt Like Suckerpunching Vickers into Bikini Bottom for That shit
Question I’m still asking myself to this day: Why the fuck did they throw the yellow?
