Nicely done.
thank you!
Thank you very much for the video, I followed your steps and re-sealed my pump.
Forgot to say my car is 2008 G37 and I believe 350z, 370z and G35 have the same pump so it's the same process.
awesome glad it helped 👍🏼
Was it leaking out front of pump I have a G37 leaking from what appears to be pump it's hard to no because fluid everywhere it lost power steering on idle after few donuts
Eric, have you had to replace the hoses that connect to the power steering reservoir lately? The OEM ones seem to be getting scarce and mine have gotten chewed up by the worm gear clamps and are leaking at the reservoir.
I think the pump was leaking thru the loose hex bolt you found. Maybe you didn't need to rebuild it. Well, at least now you have the experience which is never bad. Been there, it's always fun. Keep it up.
I was thinking that as well but I verified it and it was through the front of the pulley, it would spray straight out. Like you it was nice to learn something new
I'm sure lots of people appreciate your video. You've done a good job, but it seems you missed a few basics. For the PS pump you're doing, it might not matter much. However, you should learn about the difference between o-rings, seals, "friction plates", etc., and the proper way to remove and replace them. Somewhere in between doing this job with the right tools in a "professional" shop, (which is probably more money than it's worth for a new or remanufactured pump), and doing it DIY without the proper tools, you could do better. As a rule of thumb, o-rings are generally static, seals are typically meant to spin on a shaft for your application. When you remove o-rings with a "set of picks", you have to be really careful not to score or scratch a "groove" causing a potential leak. Seals mostly need to "pressed" in straight in order to seal on a spinning shaft. Just FYI.
Thanks for your feedback. Pump hasn't had any issues since I replaced the seals so I think the process in the video is good enough if not the same as if a professional was doing it.
good job brother and thank you for sharing that.
Thank you I appreciate you!
If my pump isn't leaking but I have that stupid winning noise, do I have to replace my pump?
Things were going well until I tried to seat the oil seal with a flat side of a large socket and the rubber coating tore, then the drive shaft axle would not turn well and seemed to bind, possibly on the oil seal. After about 4 tries moving the oil seal and re-testing the driveshaft I rapped on the bearing body of the drive shaft with the socked and F'd that up. Well, off off the part store for the full pump.
You can install the by installing the pulley and adding the seal to the shaft of the pulley and turning the pump upside down and applying pressure the pulley/shaft will drive the seal perfectly without tearing the seal. Dont ask me how I know
Good
Thanks for this and the removal video. We'd have never gotten the hose off without you.
I cannot find a part number anywhere for the pressure line crush washers. Based on the illustration for the replacement hose I ordered, I don't think it's coming with new ones. Do you know a size or part # for them so I can get them from a parts house locally?
Thank you! I dont know sorry i would try a Nissan dealership maybe they can help out. I reused mines and i didnt get any leaks if that helps
good
"Hello, I'm your subscriber from Indonesia, please help, when I have a new car, replace the high pressure hose on my power steer pump because initially there was an oil leak.
But after I changed my steering wheel, if I made it turn left or right, there was a buzzing sound that could be felt in the car cabin.
Where does this come from? I tried consulting with a repair shop and they said my power pump was damaged. In your opinion, is the mechanical analysis in Indonesia correct? And finally, can my power pump be repaired and what parts do you think need to be replaced? Thank you very much in advance, I am waiting to hear from you. GBU."
Great job 👍🇮🇱
How similar would this be for the g35 pump
It should be similar in a way
Good day all. If the power steering pump is bad, causing my steering to be stiff. Can anything be so wrong, that a seal kit wont work, instead the entire pump would need to be replaced? Thanks
check if your pump is leaking if so go back and check if you damaged the pump when removing the old seals dont ask how I know that this can happen

So do the bolts that have the holes in them for the pressure hose do they need to align with the hoes or does it not matter
Please add a time stamp so I can see what your referring to

But I figured it out
@@silentvosk421 it doesn't matter thanks for watching
Hello sir, I have got similar type of steering pump. its making to much of noise. even without turning the steering. what should I do?
have your checked if you have a leak somewhere, you could have a air going into the pump making noise
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE but how to check that?
check you power steering fuel level on the Reservoir and look for any visible leaks on the power steering pump or hose
Did anyone still have a stiff steering wheel afterwards?
Could be your alignment
I didn't see anything pertaining to the rack and Pinion was the issue
It's impossible for the to remove my steering pump in my 09 altima coupe :'(
metalslugmasters everything is possible i have a nissan altima 2004 3.5 just use a 14 mm ratcheting wrench to get the back bolt
