Chicken Teriyaki Recipe (I made double everything down below in the video)
1lb Chicken thighs diced
Garlic powder, soy sauce, sesame oil, corn starch ( just a little of this added to the chicken)
-After cooking the chicken, add garlic and ginger
Sauce
1/4c soy sauce
2tbs honey
2tbs water
1tbs white vinegar
1tsp sesame oil
1/2tsp corn starch

Hey guys! I just wanted to clarify something really quick. In the video I mentioned not intermittent fasting if you have hormonal problems. Although I do stand behind this, I was a bit too vague. This will not apply to all hormonal problems, like menopause for example. But if you suffer from PCOS insulin resistance, definitely do not IF. Of course with all things speak to your medical provider, and also test it out for yourself. 🙏🏾
I have PCOS and have no issue with intermittent fasting
Thank you for saying this. I have been with a registered dietician specialising in PCOS, and the dangers of using intermittent fasting have consistently been reiterated by her and other dietician friends. Some persons do not know the type of PCOS they have; for instance I have inflammation induced, but you could have insulin resistant PCOS. The intermittent fasting does not allow your body to keep steady sugar levels, which aggravate PCOS. No matter how much you try to remain level with your insulin, unless you are testing your glucose throughout the day you are probably having spikes you will not be able to control.

@@jessicaraye Your OBGYN can assist you with getting the right blood tests to help you rule out the different types of PCOS. Consult your OBGYN or General practitioner. This is very much you advocating for yourself.

I used to train fasted first thing in the morning to get it out of the way and so I wouldn’t mess up my hair and makeup later in the day. But noticed I’d be so hungry that I’d rush through my workout and then eat like crazy after. I can workout way longer without just wanting to stop to eat if I have some food first. I also see a increase in strength and energy this way.
I just made this breakfast and i.must say it did not disappoint at all. It was delicious. Take my journey 1 step at a time and 1 day at a time.

I found someone online that eats the same as me. Some of your meals that you displayed really help me when I don’t know what to make right now. Im 33 weeks pregnant with my second baby and eating a high protein meal has always been the wave for me. I get bored so easily and need different ways to make the same eggs and meat 😂 Esp during the postpartum period it’ll help me more when I need to make more milk.

Thank you! And yes I go to the bakery section at whole foods. It’s an entire loaf of the fresh sourdough bread that they bake. They will slice it for you.

@@keeshamarie2889 it such a struggle and it really gets me down sometimes as I work so hard,I don’t want have to give up a few glasses of wine at the weekend so many people say when you hit menopause you have to give up alcohol and sugar. I don’t agree life is to short
Try 3 day water/ herbal tea Fasting each week, when your body goes through autophage it does cellular repair

Hey!! I follow you and have been following you for years but I’m an older woman , 48 to be exact lol. I do fast because I’m premenopausal and it does help balance my hormones. Now , it may not work for others but training fasted for me helps so much.

I had to come back and say I have had that avocado toast every day this week lol literally. Who would have known pesto and a tomato would turn up the flavor lol anywho I don’t really even like or eat tomatoes outside of salsa so thanks 🥰 I also opted for killer Dave’s bread. 😋

Hi!! And thank you! One, just starting a journey is something you should be proud of. Especially with your focus being on food, as that’s the most difficult part for most. But just a small piece of advice when it comes to the working our part.. just start small. Even taking a walk a few times a week is still working out. Just get used to moving your body and you will grow from there.

@@KeshaCollins you are absolutely right. I’m just now adding weight training. Before, I would just swim 3x/wk, walk everyday, and eat right. I’m in need of more muscle though!!!

I am currently eating in a caloric deficit, as I am trying to lose a bit more body fat… so right now I’m consuming on average 1800-1900 calories per day.

I have tried so many times to eat before a morning workout. I always end up not being able to complete the workout. Fatigue hits me so hard. I have even waited up to 2 hours. I just hope working out fasted isn’t stalling my progress.😩
Start much smaller. My boyfriend is the same, he gets fatigued as well. Just grab something very small or even a smoothie. Then you can have your full meal afterwards.

It's interesting to hear you say don't train fasted if you have hormonal problems bc my docs have been mostly telling me to try I.F
There are many factors why us with hormonal issues should definitely not IF, but here’s just a few. One, insulin sensitivity is increased when you first wake up, and that’s the best time to eat. Two, IF increases cortisol levels which is the stress hormone, and although a little stress on the body is good like exercise.. too much stress for someone with imbalances is not. Lastly, we need to fuel our bodies. We need as much energy as possible, and food is energy.
Of course do some research yourself, or get a second opinion.
PCOS is a specific type of hormonal imbalance that may not respond well. But if you’re for example perimenopausal IF works. But that’s a separate issue from fasted cardio which the science is mixed on but can be a personal preference. Not just your doctor but work with an licensed nutritionist or RDN to figure what pathway works best for you!
