For one star killer is o.p good for a fun video game but in terms of actual lore context not so much.
Same as the warhammer space marine game it isn't necessarily Canon but is so awesome it doesn't need to be it's a parallel to what goes on in the main stream.
Titus not being an official captain in lore as is star killer isn't in o.g star wars unless you count that Luke was meant to be named star killer before Skywalker.
I like to pretend the sequel trilogy doesn't exist and Disney didn't do anything with Star Wars.

Fallen Order is great, but this was such a fun sandbox to play around in, regardless of it being a more linear game. Can't casually stack chairs on a storm trooper for kicks from the start of Fallen Order. Maybe it's just because the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities that some consider to be unnatural, but IDK

shame you didn't spotlight the dlc:D where you kill Bobba and turn Luke to the dark side. playing this for the 1st time after the Disney movies was so satisfying:D

I will always love this game, non canon or not. It's so much fun to just scatter enemies with a fully charged force push or fry them alive with lightning. I really miss games that just let you go crazy and fuck shit up.

The actor used for this and days gone is actually a really talented guy who did a wild American adaptation of a show about a werewolf, vampire, and ghost being roommates. He plays the vampire.

the game wasn't canon prior to the buyout either though. It was specifically made to be a non-canon offshoot (otherwise you wouldn't literally kill darth vader, luke, obi wan, han, and chewie.)

@@Sad_Elf No literally, the game wasn't even canon. It was released as a non-canon what-if story. Even Sam Witwer himself has said that it was intended as an alternate version of events. It's just that a lot of sw fans don't have the ability to read context clues and determine "this isn't canon" unless somebody writes "LEGENDS" in bold print on the cover of it.
@@thescruffinator8830No, it was canon to the Legends timeline on release. It was even advertised as the next chapter after ROTS released, bridging the gap between Episode 3 and 4. I remember that distinctively.
The DLC isn’t canon since it takes place after the non-canon Dark Side ending. The devs specifically stated they were inspired by the Star Wars Infinities comics for that, which were the “What If?” series before the upcoming Disney one.
So The Force Unleashed was canon. Episode 3.5, if you will. It was decanonized along with the rest of the good Star Wars EU material in 2014 so Disney could make their shittier version instead.

Going to the emperor for the finale and essentially saying “yeah no, fuck this, the hallway is taking too long, Vader I’m coming for you” and yeeting myself off of the the platform midway through

That stun lock was the perfect way of teaching oboe that the dark side leads to only bad things, but he continued on that path anyway

It's a shame the PS2 version wasn't put on PC. As that was the original project, it has quite a bit more content. I like it more overall as well.

It had more content to sweeten the deal because it was the inferior version. The primary version of the game was on the 360/PS3 and PC. Make no mistake.

Replaying this game recently has reminded me of two things.
1: QTEs are a sin that should be forgotten FOREVER.
2: The walking animations cutscenes are funny af.
I usually hate QTEs, but I thought games like The Force Unleashed (I had the PS2 version) and GoW handled them great. I am happy we're out of that era, though
QTEs are badass, this game's are super forgiving in that it's literally impossible to die during one and even if you could it's just button prompts that you follow to get a really well choreographed action scene, some of the coolest moments in my favourite games are QTEs especially in the Yakuza games.
I thought the QTEs were fine in this game. You still have to beat everyone legitimately and QTEs only come in when they’re near death. It’s like those finishing animations in Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor, just with some button prompts you press.
The “absconding with a novelty lightsaber” bit might be one of the best things I’ve ever seen
Even today one of my TOP 10 games ever, advanced physics, great combat system and much better version of Rebels Alliance origin than a canon one.
Graphics looks great even as for modern standards when you'll think how old is this one.
You need to play Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. The graphics aren't great anymore, but the lightsaber and Force gameplay has never been surpassed by any other game.
@@wilhufftarkin8543 I always lved Jedi Academy for the possibility to summon and freeze allies and enemies, replacing own player model with other characters and everything you can do thanks to commands. It was perfect if you wanted to create own scenarios :)
@@Taohe_Netrus Yep! If you haven't already, you should play Jedi Outcast, too! It's basically the exact same game (same engine, same graphics) but with better story and level design. Most of the console commands from Academy work, too!
@@wilhufftarkin8543Fucking love Jedi Outcast. In a lot of ways, I consider Jedi Outcast and The Force Unleashed complementary games. Jedi Outcast has the best lightsaber combat, Force Unleashed has the best Force powers. Dream game is still a combination of both, but no game has gone that far yet.

Love the actor/voice actor from this game. For awhile he was in a vampire tv show….wonder what become of him.
Sam Witwer. He's a great actor. Was in Battlestar Galactica as well.
I think he's still on the Star Wars payroll, he played Darth Maul in the Solo end credits scene and if I'm right he plays Palpatine in most shows and Lego adaptations.
He's so damn good, been playing Days Gone and I absolutely adore how angry he sounds, every kill in a marauder camp has him saying shit like "yeah that's what you fucking get you dirty animal" in the most pissed off sadistic voice and I love every second of it.
I feel the same fallen order is good but it just doesn't make you feel like having unlimited power

You could put this into the canon timeline as sort of a prequel to rogue one
I had the DS version growing up. It controlled weird, using the touchpad for all combat moves, and the D-Pad and buttons for movement. I didn't know the proper way to input combos (Dragging the stylus over the buttons, as opposed to quickly tapping them) until after I was halfway through my second playthrough, so before that all my combo moves had about a 3/4 chance of failure.
It was decent, but a good ways below a great game, like the Lego games or Zeldas

I remember renting this game back in November of 2008. I was visiting my dad for Thanksgiving, and we immediately went to Hastings to buy the new Call of Duty (World at War), but I also decided to rent this when I saw it available. Great memories of being able to play both games in a couple of days before taking Force Unleashed back. I would later buy the game sometime after Christmas and replay it. We truly had a great golden age of gaming back then.
It has to be canon because Marik is in soul caliber no fan boy or fan girl can stop that.
they should remaster this game and make it officially canon while Sam Witwer is still active, so he can show up in the MANDOLORIAN

100% there are differences, there are even different bosses and stuff. Idk which versions have which but on the wii I remember fighting some gungan as a boss in cloud city I think, and then a big robot at the end of the cloud city section and neither of those were in the Xbox version when I replayed it recently
The PS2 version was made first and had alot more content, like more levels and lightsaber customization...the best part is that the QTE with the Star Destroyer was a cutscene instead
