A timeshare purchased from a developer (in this case Hilton) has very little residual value (approximately 10-20%). That money is simply gone, unlike traditional real estate, it doesn't retain or increase in value. The properties are great but know others are buying the same properties on the resale market for a 10-20% of the price of buying from Hilton.
