Isn't that machine one she can stand AND walk with? I'd rather liked to have seeneif she can do things like to search a book, to put s.th. out of a board or - in a house - to speak with people standing or sitting , been able to walk with them into another room etc and then to take some gymnastics or something which is important for a paraplegic. And: yes, to stand is important for muscles, against spasm and to help the inner organs like lungsfor better working, helps against decubiti,(in general for better blood - circulation and working lymphatic - system), but it's very well for the psychic of humans to feel free, to feel like the others and not "tiny" as if we were children,to speak from 2 eyes to 2 eyes in one groth is as if to take the person on the opposide more serious, they're seen as the personality one is. If others always look down on you often depresses. I've been a nurse for mostly disabled persons l've seen it so often and hard worked against. Now, myself sitting in a wheelchair, l often notice that people try to answer to my son instead to me. I handle that but it isn't a good feeling. In my church there is Marcus, a uaraplegic after a motorbike accident who has got a wonderful wheelchair with what he can stand up. From that day on he was haPpier, wanted much more to come to a speach with others, it was very useful for his healthy. Then l thought that everyone in a wheelchair should have one like this! They would become less expensive, and everyone could be so much more independent and psychic and physically great! Why isn't that standard?!?
Very worthless divice . . .. . ur scenario could it be solve by a reacher or graber.. My second thought would move to left to right. But didn't happen..

Diana Stokes-Harmon standing helps lots of things. It emphasize metabolism and thus food intake. It allows bones to take the load etc. There are so many medical reasons so you can google up and see why she needs only to stand.
