Thanks Gabriele, I do plan on making some more DCS WWII content in the near future. I know it's not the same simulator but in Il-2 you can use this same technique and it will work, and likewise what I make using Il-2 will work for DCS as I try and use RL techniques where possible.
@@RequiemsACTL sure and is exactly what I do, but as You know in DCS things go a bit differenti cause the flyght model so having more specific content is well come 👍
Thank you for another great video! Must say, your dive bombing technique is impressive, especially in small ship attack. However, there is an important issue. Recover at 2000 ft and escape in level flight is a bad idea. If target is really WELL defended by small flak, you will be dead. I always escape after dropping bombs as low as it possible, almost cutting grass by propeller and hiding behind buildings and trees (if presented). At 2000 ft and in level flight you are perfect target for 20 and 37 mm flak. I know this after all this IL-2 years, also you can read about flak danger at low attitude in many books, for example, Clostermann's "Great Show".
Really great video. Thank you. Reviewing Spitfire squadron Operational Record Books (ORBs), they note that the dive bombing attacks (in the three months prior to D-day) were done from 10,000 to 5,000 feet, and sometimes higher (12,000-6,000).
Of course I was drawn to this video by the ubiquitous chalkboard sound, regardless of the fact that I don't actually OWN DCS!! I shall, as suggested, take it over to IL-2 and attempt to try out the method over there instead!!
Hello from Spain... I've been in IL2 for many years and now in the summer that I don't fly much I have decided to start in DCS IIWW... and I miss your tutorials on at least spitfire
@@RequiemsACTL Aw man, I do want to go flying but school and poor studying habits got me with little to no time for flying. Will join eventually for sure. Cheers!!
do you have any other reference point to aim ? I just play in il2fb and i can't perform this technique, my bombs always under fly the point that i aim, and i can't plase gunsight on the fuel cap due to my traking setup and aircraft model in game.
No I don't have any videos about that really. There's not a great deal to that aspect. With the G model now it's a lot more important to cut the throttle early if you're trying to force and overshoot or stay behind someone.
@@RequiemsACTL I think you should make a video about that. For example, when is the exact time to accelerate and reduce the throtle during a barril roll, scissors, a brake turn, looping, following some one on his six, etc... please.
Zero reason it won't work. I've done it in both myself. I make content based off real life techniques wherever possible, so this means you can apply them across different sims.
Great video, as usual. We need more DCS WWII content from You, like dogfight tactics, Bombers interception etc. etc.
Seconded

Yep I won't argue with you there! I'm just merely replicating this technique as it was written during WWII in my Spitfire book.
I love it when real historic techniques actually work in game. It shows that the simulation is on point.
Yeah it took a few tries to determine the correct lead point, but it was cool to replicate it and see it work!

Let me know how you fare, but I expect big things from you to be accomplished in your own custom Spitfire skin ;-)

I've got DCS now so I shall be attempting these methodologies presently!!
Please do more DCS-Tutorials.
MiG-15 or F-86 would be nice.
108 views at the time of watching this. I guess that makes me the 109th view. haha
Great video! Keep them coming :)
Cheers mate, you need to come back and fly with us sometime. We flew German last night and thought of you ;-)

No not really as that would require a different dive angle or release speed
My bombs do not explode on impact. Any idea why?
you have a delayed fuse selected in the bomb fuse page when you re-arm
Great tutorial! This will help me put the gunsight on my FPV Spitfire to good use! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
So cool to see you do more and more DCS Req!
Thanks Wolf, the plan is to work on more :)
Hello there. Nice video. I could really use a tutorial on how to do torpedo attacks, could you do a video on that mate?
Awesome video and very helpful. Next step for me: try this out. :-)
Sweet, let me know how you go!
@@RequiemsACTL It went great. I can finally place bombs on (or at least close) to the target. Thank you! :-)
Thank you, very informative and very needed!
I love how your editing style has not changed that much for over a year, your videos are very high quality and perfect for training.
Thanks TardGuardian, I appreciate that! Although things have changed I try and keep the same overall kind of theme for consistency.
Really well done Requiem.
You should do tutorial on the F14B, I like it but difficult
I am working on some F-14 content but it's going to be after the F-18 I think.
Do you have any BFM video about Throttle Management during doghfight in Il2 Stalingrad? Great idea huh?

Can you do more videos on the F-5E
Yep I am!
