But too me the only place he appeared to both enjoy himself and take the footballing seriously was at Everton, ever since he left Everton, his career has been a strange paradox as he is, good but due to his antics(due to his statements.) and questionable performances he has been labelled everything under the sun.

@prometheustv6558 suddenly beggers can be choosers? Chelsea is too shit of a club for lukaku and Italy loves him so good for him to make a move to juve after playing well in the ucl final. don't bash lukaku for having 3 goal chances and still losing the trophy. he has more goal chances and more goals in the ucl than ronaldo has had ucl matches in the last 3 years.
Belgian here. There's no doubt Lukaku had a very poor world cup, but I've always maintained he shouldn't have been in Qatar. There's a reason he didn't play against Canada, and didn't start against Morroco or Croatia, he hadn't fully recovered from injury yet. The Belgian dressing room in Qatar was a very well publicized disaster, and if Courtois wasn't world class the Croatia game would probably have been irrelevant as we would have drawn or lost to Canada anyway. Several players carry part of the blame, but Martinez definitely does as well. Guy was starting Eden Hazard at a world cup in 2022, and threw a not fully recovered Lukaku onto the pitch as a hail mary twice to try and save his job (guess it didn't matter, as he somehow landed the Portugal job). KDB's comments during about them being too old were, while definitely part of the problem, looking back on them as I see Tedesco's approach to the Belgium team this year, I get his point. Martinez would often pick players that at one point but incredible performances in for Belgium even when it is clear they were not able to do the same in November/December of last year (Hazard and Lukaku being clear examples in this case). A lack of sufficient integration of new, promising players into the senior team, which Tedesco seems to be focusing on now. And look, I get it, Tedesco is new and hasn't played any tournaments yet, it's not fair to Martinez to be compared to a guy whose hardest challenges so far have been Sweden, Austria and a German team that seems to be in as much turmoil as Belgium's is, if not more. But for Lukaku, opinions in Belgium are divided, certainly, but from what I've experienced it's certainly more positive than negative. He's tied with Sándor Kocsis for the fourth most prolific international goalscorer in European history, with only Lewandowski, Puskas and Ronaldo surpassing him (and he only just turned 30). I won't make excuses for the way he's behaved in his club career, some of the interviews he's given and decisions he's made have harmed his career and image, and he's responsible for that at the end of the day. But as a Belgian, I'm just going too enjoy the De Bruyne/Lukaku combo while we still have it, and while I don't expect to win any tournament any time soon, with join players like Lavia, Bakayoko and Openda coming through, I'm hoping we can stay relevant. Also, just a nitpick, but while there's no doubt the amount of languages Lukaku knows is impressive, but Flemish isn't actually a language. We speak Dutch in Flanders, there are regional dialects, for sure, and the Flemish and Dutch will make fun of each other for small variances, but they're certainly not separate languages.
Agreed. I'm not a Belgium fan and I had a good laugh at his fails compilation against Croatia, but I also think it was too harsh to pin the blame on him. The guy only had 45 minutes to make an impact when he had just come off injury and when the team already had their backs against the wall.
From my understanding the dialects used to be more unique and in some cases not extremely similar to Dutch. I think it's more reflective of microcultures at this point and even that is taking some liberties.
Talent can take you far, but attitude is what makes you legendary. Lukaku will be remembered as a player who never quite maximised his potential and it will be because of his lacklustre attitude.

There are no official statement from inter but it is treated as a sure thing from all our national media, and while i think that might not be the whole truth, but to dismiss it as merely a rumor is eccessive.

While with conte the team was structured around him and even lautaro was delegated to a supporting role. The same kind of central role he would probably have at juventus if they sell vlahovic. Lukaku was my fav player back when he was playing for Anderlecht. He was an absolute beast. When he moved to Chelsea and they treated him the way they did, I could not understand why. So I was super excited when he distinguished himself in Everton. I feel like he is not the same player today, nothing like the hungry beast he used to be, but I will forever blame Chelsea for holding him back. He could have been equal to Suarez, but all the damn politics and behind closed-doors decisions in Chelsea somehow put him on the sidelines. No wonder the man is afraid to show loyalty. The way chelsea treated him the first time was abyssmal.
lukaku reminds me of anelka a bit all time talents that people will look back on and say they could have achieved way more in their career if it wasn't for poor attitude
No inter and Chelsea agreed on the fee but both couldn’t get hold of him to confirm the deal then when inter found out he been talking to JJ they backed out the deal so now he burned every bridge at every club
Going from Benzema to Lukaku would really be a complete 180 in playstyle. Benzema being one of the most technically gifted strikers in the game, to Lukaku just being a physical powerhouse.
He should’ve never left inter the first time bro was on the form of his life and already delivered a serie a title if he played about 5 more years there he could’ve became a legend His greed and nostalgia in going back to Chelsea ruined him
It's hard to fairly characterize someone as 'cursed' who has made the lifetime earnings he has, and has contributed as much, through his own words and actions, to the negative manner in which he is regarded by so many.
Belgian football fan here, who can say Lukaku is my...favourite player. I understand and defend many things about his career, even during his underwhelming return in London, the controversial interview and the poor performance at the world cup. Yet, this time, even I am baffled by how he has apparently shot himself so thoroughly in the foot with all his possible suiters - he might have closed the european chapter of his professional club career. For a player so dependent on emotional support, that he seems to have toyed so much with Inter's fan's support is so paradoxical. There is no way to know if the talks with AC Milan and Juve are true, but to have ruined a possible future at Inter shocks me. Having followed his career since Anderlecht, I truely thought Inter was his home. Now seemingly homeless, what will happen to Big Rom...
Yes the game is played with 11 players, but having romelu on the pitch is like a team having a red card the entire 90 minutes. I like lukaku he doesn't deserve to e majority of the hate he gets, but when you have 11 players on the pitch and the one guy in charge of scoring goals just misses the easiest chances it's really hard to win a game.
As an Inter fan, I hate it how people troll him for the champions league final. Dzeko didnt create anything and when Lukaku came he had an instant impact. Nobody trolls Dzeko for not doing shit. Nobody trolls Inzaghi for starting Dzeko.
I don't know but seing from how he burnt all bridges to Juve & Inter, how close Milan & Chelsea, how Milan needs Striker to play on strater level to cover Giroud (and how Giroud is already 37), it may lead to Lukaku joins Milan in the end of transfer Windows. He also match with Milan Gameplay which needs holding-up striker and create room for Leao & Pulisic. Let us see...
You forgot to mention that in 2023, Inter loaned Lukaku to MeganTheeStallion but she returned to sender fast before anything was initialized 🤣🤣 sealing Inter's fate in the process
What confuses me the most is that he was FINALLY happy again and he still chose the path of violence 😂. Coz dude was happy at West Brom, happy at Everton, then miserable at Chelsea (both stints) and United and eventually found happiness both times at Inter under Conte and then under Inzaghi and consistent games at Inter with an almost guaranteed starter role especially now that Dzeko left only for him to burn the bridge TWICE. It's genuinely like those moments where someone finds peace but then starts to crave drama and random adrenaline chasing antics 😂, as the meme goes "just to feel something"
One thing about Lukaku: He is unproffecional in my opinion. I am not the guy who criticizes others but... This man lost multiple chances in front of the goal in the Belgium-Croatia match. He got criticized a lot about that. Being in front of the goal was one of his weaknesses and he never tried fixing it. Then 6 months later, after receiving an pinpoint cross from Gozens, he managed to miss an easy header in front of an almost empty goal from a distance less than 1 meter. He missed again. I am not the one who will criticize him but this not the only chance he lost either.
Lukaku has basically been a 1 In 2 striker his whole career including as a 16 - 18yr old playing first team football in Belgium. One of the rare cases where he's actually delivered on the initial hype. I can't help but think that (like Neymar), social media has influenced unfair and unobjective criticism where we judge someone on their personal character rather than playing ability , as an actual reflection of said career.
Remember when Lukaku was a young player at Chelsea. I was fascinated and hoping he would grow and become the clubs next Drogba although that's incredibly big shoes to fill. He really did have some incredible potential and we've all seen how good he can be at his best. Unfortunately i think the attitude and sometimes bizarre decision making and statements stopped him in his path. Such a shame
Rom is just confused he was his happiest at Everton even though I’m a Manchester United fan I know he was his happiest at Everton body language and all round play no one judging him about his first touch jovial and happy around the place. Ever since he left his domineer has not been the same.
I think the responsibility for how his career has panned out is divided. For one part his mouth has definitely got the better of him when he should have got his head down, but it seems some of the transfer decisions may have been out of his hands too. Unfortunately going to Chelsea is the worst thing a youngster can do. Overall he shoulders some of the blame, but not all of it, and I think his career has hit its peak.
The critism of Lukaku is going overboard. Inter can’t afford him, why not find out if Juve can. He isn’t praised for getting to the final but absolutely massacred for missing chances. He has been a top 100 striker in Europe and has a decent legacy despite up and down years.

There is one club where he will always be welcome, big Rom will always be appreciated at anderlecht
lukaku reminds me of anelka a bit all time talents that people will look back on and say they could have achieved way more in their career if it wasn't for poor attitude
No inter and Chelsea agreed on the fee but both couldn’t get hold of him to confirm the deal then when inter found out he been talking to JJ they backed out the deal so now he burned every bridge at every club
I would love seeing him for one season at Real Madrid. Even as a Barca Fan, that guy deserves a great team around him.
So Barca is not a good team ?
Going from Benzema to Lukaku would really be a complete 180 in playstyle. Benzema being one of the most technically gifted strikers in the game, to Lukaku just being a physical powerhouse.
@@Umar-iv4iw What?
As a Real madrid fan , I believe he will do great here
Lukaku's PR team needs to get their degrees verified how the heck is no one close to him telling him what to say and what not to say
Burning bridge with the club and fans that genuinely support him and want him is baffling for me
Give Lukaku some respect..he single handedly invented the role of defensive striker🤣
He should’ve never left inter the first time bro was on the form of his life and already delivered a serie a title if he played about 5 more years there he could’ve became a legend His greed and nostalgia in going back to Chelsea ruined him
will never forget how he blocked two possible goals from his own team in two separate finals.
This guy is just overhyped
13:07 If the contract included Megan the Stallion, Lukaku would be contender for the ballon d’or next season
As an Inter fan, I hate it how people troll him for the champions league final. Dzeko didnt create anything and when Lukaku came he had an instant impact. Nobody trolls Dzeko for not doing shit. Nobody trolls Inzaghi for starting Dzeko.
Exactly! Same with the Belgium game against Croatia. The only game the team actually showed up was when he was leading the line...
You know which player would make a great video? Adriano emperor, the 99 power shot from pro evolution soccer
I knew this video would come it was never a question of it but of when 🙏
Scottish athletes are called British in the media when they do well but Scottish when they don’t
It's genuinely like those moments where someone finds peace but then starts to crave drama and random adrenaline chasing antics 😂, as the meme goes "just to feel something"
sometimes dreams turn into nightmares real fast
God, the chelsea board or whoever decided to go for lukaku for a second time is crazzzy
He is like Tevez. Agent owns his contract and gets a high share of transfer fees.
I love this guy list all the languages lukaku can speak “that’s not bad I only know how to talk shit” 😂😂😂😂😂
From a West Brom fan, he was amazing
Lukaku is the Nicolas Anelka of modern footballer
One thing about Lukaku: He is unproffecional in my opinion.
I am not the guy who criticizes others but...
This man lost multiple chances in front of the goal in the Belgium-Croatia match.
He got criticized a lot about that.
Being in front of the goal was one of his weaknesses and he never tried fixing it.
Then 6 months later, after receiving an pinpoint cross from Gozens, he managed to miss an easy header in front of an almost empty goal from a distance less than 1 meter.
He missed again.
I am not the one who will criticize him but this not the only chance he lost either.
Wait, I’ve always thought that picture of young lukaku was fake 😂😂😂
Love the videos bro. Keep making them
I just love this man's voice 😍 😅
This is why I like this channel, not only is the video informational, I really like the plethora of fact based opinions in the comments.
4:20 that dog face cracked me up
😂😂😂bro he had so many hair when he was at Everton moving to clubs every szn made him loose his hair
this man took "never let them know your next move" to next level 🔥🔥
Awesome content as always Tinashe.
Ever since he left his domineer has not been the same.
should've talked more abt how crazy lukaku's first inter stint was
2020/2021 was his peak. It is all downhill now.
He could do well at the UN as an interpreter.
wake up babe, football iconic just dropped another banger
Class video as always
He's a top player. He's a 1 in 2 striker. Doesn't get much better than that. And he's actually consistent with his scoring
The channel that always underdeliver
I think the responsibility for how his career has panned out is divided. For one part his mouth has definitely got the better of him when he should have got his head down, but it seems some of the transfer decisions may have been out of his hands too. Unfortunately going to Chelsea is the worst thing a youngster can do. Overall he shoulders some of the blame, but not all of it, and I think his career has hit its peak.
Lukaku is interestingly always been inconsistent, always gets his bag tho
Good video, you gave him a fair shake mate 👍
This is THE definition of 4d chess
You forgot to include +Samuel Eto to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's accumulated transfer fee
Pep Guardiola “ I won the Champios league because a striker missed a clear chance 1 meter from goal”
Same could be said about lots of cl winning managers🤣🤣
From one of the potential belgium XI legend to Lakaka is just confusing yet hilarious
Banger as always 🤝
The critism of Lukaku is going overboard. Inter can’t afford him, why not find out if Juve can. He isn’t praised for getting to the final but absolutely massacred for missing chances. He has been a top 100 striker in Europe and has a decent legacy despite up and down years.
yes if you mean meme as legacy...
Brazilian here. Im one of the huge fans of Lukaku. He would be Brazil n9 easily in The Last decade. He is underestimated.
He would be the first Brazilian player who ever existed whit a bad first touch lol
No microphone clause🤣🤣👏
Football iconic is the only footballing UA-cam channel i watch 🙌
That reporter line abt their rent was fucking class 😭
12:04 Bra Tinashe, grootman. Be you. We love you for you. NH.
Tinashe, would love to hear your opinion on the USMNT Claudio Reyna v Gregg Berhalter situation especially now that Gregg is back as the manager
Great video bro
People fall for his strenght. But there's more to football than that.
Lukaku has a great goalscoring record. The problem with him is so strange that I will borrow an analogy from cricket to describe his game: Flat Track Bully
Can you explain? Not an Anglo so I don´t understand that.
@@RolandPeteur players who score only in easy conditions or against weak opposition
I'm pretty sure that is not a cricketing statement, it's a sporting analogy.
@@billmartin4093 Yep, but I thought it originated from cricket
@@AdityaMadduri in Dutch we call it: Mooi weer spelers ( nice weather players)
To think, he puts that chance away before Rodri, and this may be different but he has a bad habit of missing chances in big games.
