@jameswilson4732 Mine is 100% reliable. Try the American Speedloader for both, it's a game changer. It loads the rounds precisely and quickly. Loading the rounds is 95% of people's problem with both firearms. Even as careful as I was loading, I would get jams sometimes, but as soon as I got this loader it was 100% reliable magazine after magazine. The PMR 30 is my field gun here on the ranch and I have dispatched many a snake and critter with it. I promise you will not regret it. As far as my "it will never happen" statement, I was referring to 5.7 catching on and that ammo getting cheaper. It's a great round but will never replace .22 or .22 magnum for what they're intended for, but it would be a nice addition to that line up. The 5.7 round by nature and being centerfire will never be cheaper, but hopefully the price does come down some. As far as rimfire reliability, out of the thousands and thousands of rounds I've shot over many years, the reliability has been 100%. I've heard that before, but never experienced it myself.

I've been using one for over a year. It is so light, you do not feel it on your side. It shoots and shoots well and I love the sights. I like the mag release. I carry it with me whenever I go hunting or in the woods. I have nicer-looking ones but none that I enjoy carrying or shooting more. I did polish the sides of the "sheet metal" top and re-blued it. It had tool marks from when they stamped it out. It is a porcupine slayer.

I've had mine for 6 months. Shoots well. Is light in the hand. Simply a great 22 LR handgun. I ordered the red dot slide and have been practicing for 2 months with it. The red dot makes it all that more accurate that distance. It is a definite keeper for my collection

I had several jams and misfires on my new P17, and was disappointed because my friend recommended this as a reliable firearm. I brought it to the KelTec factory not far from my house, and the folks there were as friendly as could be. They replaced the main slide spring and made several adjustments, all of which they documented. They made the repairs under warranty and sent it back to me at no cost, all within a week. I could not be happier with their prompt service. Since its repair, my P17 has been 100 percent reliable and never jammed or misfired after an entire box of 500 Remington Thunderbolt high velocity rounds. Even standard velocity Federal rounds fire every time. I have this ammo because, if you remember, it wasn't long ago when we had few choices of what was in stock. The gun is comfortable to hold, easy to shoot and accurate enough to keep a three inch pattern at 50 feet.

Kinda reminds me of the Remington Nylon 66 in concept. The steel to polymer ratio is pretty wild. I'm also not too put off by the number of screws holding the two halves together so long as they're solid, which seems to be the case. Sub-$200, honestly not a huge investment. So, even if it's not for you, you're not into it with a ton of money. Definitely worth consideration.

      @wilycoyote9091 Рік тому +4

The great thing about this Kel Tec is that its already ugly and cheap so you don't have to worry if it gets scratched up and can just just enjoy it anywhere without babying it. I know the TX22 is like a more traditional 9mm, but they've had some problems with the front part of the slide that comes down to retain the recoil spring assembly cracking and even breaking off because its made of aluminum and can suffer from metal fatigue sometimes. Glad that Kel Tec went with a steel slide assembly that looks about an eighth of inch thick which will never get fatigued from the forces imposed on it from a 22 LR round. It also has a fixed barrel which is simple and tends to be more accurate.

Well I bought this pistol and was pretty excited to take it to the range two nights ago. To my surprised I had three jams at the ejection port, two no fires ,because the safety would move about an 1/8 " up from my thumb touching it. I went through a box of Aguila 38 grain 250 rounds that I split between the Kel-Tech and the Taurus TX22 that I bought. I had no jams or any issues with the Taurus. They both shot extremely well but that sort of pisses me off when my brand new gun jams three times the first time ever shoot it. I'm going to give Keltech a call today and see how the customer service is. It's a fun little gun but that right there shows me that I don't want to carry that pistol for self-defense unless they can do something at the factory to to remedy this.

The light weight would make it a bit better for training. A heavy steel .22 LR pistol would have NO recoil which is bad for training. Having at least some muzzle rise because of how light it is, is a good thing for training.

I just picked up my Kel-Tech P17, and I have to say, it's worlds better than the Bersa Thunder 380 I used to own. I didn't hate the Bersa Thunder 380, it's just that it has very bad recoil when I used it. My Kel-Tech P17 literally had no recoil. If I find a Bersa Thunder 22 in a good price point, I'll buy it too.

I have one of these. Like it. Don't even know you carry it. Now I dont edc it since I usually pocket carry a ruger lcp 2 in my cut off jeans. Shoots fine with my ammo. Usually cci mini Mags or stangers.

I just ordered one from PSA. They are on sale for Valentines Day ❤! It’s a gift to myself because of a shoulder injury 😢. I want to do some shooting but I’m working my 9mm will aggravate my injury. I’m hoping an inexpensive.22 like this will give me a chance to shoot without messing my shoulder while I am healing. Thanks for your reviews and tips. Wonderful channel!

My problem came with the sights. They got bounced way out of alignment and now I need to zero the thing havent got around to it.

I was thinking about a 22 pistol. The only gun I have is a Glock 17 For a moment I thought, just pay the money, and get A GLOCK 44, since I already truck my g17. But after seeing some videos including this I just placed an order for one of these. Can’t wait to see my self. You can’t beat the value. A gun and 3 mags out the door with shipping and FFL transfer for 225 out the door.

got mine 3 months ago, i F'ing LOVE to shoot this gun. I have 5 mags for it and i will blow thru 250 rounds and not even know it. I load the 5 mags before i leave, i blow thru those, load the 5 mags again, blow thru those and load the 5 mags a 3rd time and blow thru those ... LOL ...
It light, no recoil, stay on target each shot ... awesome.
AND i have the red dot slide on it as well so i can go from red dot slide to the oem iron sight slide in seconds.

Really good pistol, pretty much eats everything, kinda like a fat kid in a candy store, but with one small problem. Saids it comes with 3 16 round magazines, not so, cause mine only came with 10 rounders, not 16. No matter, it's still a sweet little pistol. I find the trigger to be OUTSTANDING and breakdown to clean is the easiest I've ever had. I did have a case get stuck, but other than that, no problems.
I opted for the OD green, since it was the cheapest in my area.
I cleaned it just as soon as I got home, oiled and lubed it, and every time from the range, no matter how much I shoot through it. I even rack the slide bout 20 times after each cleaning..

I took mine out today and was satisfied with its performance being a cheap gun and not sure what ammo works the best , I did have a few rounds that didnt pick up from the magazine and had failure to fire, not sure if it needs more rounds thru to break the pistol in , One thing I didnt like was the magazines were hard to top off once I had about 10 rounds in, it was killing my thumb trying to push more rounds into the magazine as the spring was so tight
