Really loved this episode, very sweet and funny. If I had one nitpick it would be that Starlight Glimmer wasn't at the wedding with the other "Our Town" ponies but other then that it was fantastic.
It’s kind of fitting for this to come before the finale. You know things are gonna get wild there, so it’s nice to have one last calm moment before everything closes out. Seeing Applejack in that outfit in the end made me smile. She looked so amazing in it! It’s kind of sad to know that this is kind of the penultimate episode of the series, before the big baddies come and put their plan to action.
It was a good episode. Had some funny moments, creative situations and ended on a very good note to end that story arc properly. I don't think I loved it as much as you did but I did like it. Definitely one of the better episodes this season. I think some of the moments were a little silly and forced would be my real complaint of the episodes ruining it a bit. But it was solid. Nice way to end things before the big finale to end the series. Good to see that Big Mac and Sugar Belle live happily ever after before the show ends for good.
Big Mac followed his father's steps proud of the guy. 1 finale for the series next week to close the book on G4. I am watching this and behind the scenes for 10 years anniversary.
Sigh......this episode hit me hard Doc. Me and "Da Missus" have been together for 10 years but only married for five. Proposing to her was the scariest moment in my life and even now my throat drys thinking about it. But after the wedding I was able to finally relax and I realized I couldn't go on without waking up next to her every day. That moment every morning are the happiest in my life.
Honestly, I was rather confused when I first started watching this episode, it was rather all over the place at first glance. That being said, I too deeply appreciate the wonderful heartfelt proposal in front of the intertwining trees of Bright Mac and Pear Butter. I look forward to next week with both anticipation and no small amount of trepidation.
Also. My favorite as a Star Trek fan was Granny's dream. I also loved the sun shining between the two trees. Like the souls of Bright Mac and Pear Butter were giving their blessing to their son's marriage.
Granny Smith explaining her dream was a nice original twist. I’m just glad it wasn’t the old cliche where it turned out the dream was real. The thing I didn’t like about this episode is we were not given any legitimate proof about Pear Butter and Bright Mac and wether or not they were dead or not.
I would have probably liked the story arc more if we learned more about Sugar Belle, but it was almost entirely focused on Big Mac. Not having that development for Sugar Belle makes me feel like I only know half of the total story.
I loved this episode. So many nods, and many funny moments. It sounds like you had just as much fun as I did watch this, Doc. I wish Big Mac and Sugar bell a happy and loving Marriage. If Pear Butter and Bright Mac were there, I'm sure they'd be proud. WOnderful wedding episode.
This episode was AMAZING! I love love love it! It was so funny (thanks to the Lord of chaos) and in the same time so emotional, so deep... Big Mac and Sugar Belle's love story is so beautiful. The lesson they learned is so emotional too and it's true that everybody finds it soon or later in real life. I was looking for these two's wedding for a long time and what better time for it than one of the last episodes. Congratulations, Big Mac and Sugar Belle! And Discord... Oh, my... Let's face it: the episode would be boring without him. He definitely has a big mouth. And that was the reason I couldn't stop laughing! After all this Discord we are talking about! Magical episode, really! The writers did an outstanding job! The next week the end is coming and I JUST CAN'T WAIT! The time has come... for the last battle!
I love getting references to actors' previous works. Also, yeah I did expect there to be a wedding episode at some point this season. Other shows I've watched did similar things. I would be a little surprised if they didn't get married on screen.
i loved this episode easily my top 3rd of all time and it had me laughing and no cringe, the pacing was good, good to see the big lebowski ponies again and even though i had seen a screenshot for it the background scene of lyra proposing to bon-bon you have to really looking because it goes by quick i had to rewind the episode just to make sure i saw it
I think this is one of my favorites episodes of the series. As for my favorite bit...No matter how hard I could try, the ol' school Trekkie in me can't stop laughing at Granny Smith's dream. XD
After seeing the title of this video, I realized I had a craving for: 1. A joke about Apple. 2. A joke about McDonalds. 3. A joke about the apple Macintosh. Also, how exactly is Big Mac's full name supposed to be spelled?!!
I never would have guessed Octavia and Bulk biceps originally.....but now that I think about it.... it really does add up. She’s wearing the pants and is the calm collected one. And bulk is the emotional one 😁
I know this is the episode before the series finale, but I don’t care. I loved almost every minute of it. And I’m just relieved to be rid of Fluttermac forever
I have also watched The Big Mac Question on KimCartoon about a day ago and I loved this episode as well. I am very happy too that Big Mlcntosh and Sugar Belle are finally married.😍
The Star Trek joke was the funniest joke I've ever seen in this show, and my favorite one in the entire series. Also, is NO ONE gonna mention Lyra and Bon-Bon proposing to each other in this episode? LyraBon is freakin' cannon, for Luna's sake! That's awesome and absolutely adorable!
I'm yet to see any youtuber pointing that out. I guess everyone keeps missing it somehow. Maybe, after all these years, my eyes are automatically drawn to any lyrabon colored thing in the background.
@@lettyfraire4664 I don't mean here in the comments. Below and above us there is plenty of Lyrabon Proposal reminders, but as far as I'm aware nobody mentioned this in any of their videos. Not a single reactor pointed this out either.
Lyra and Bon Bon in the background both proposed to each other!! Plus once again Discord created magical food And grand pear in space oh Tabitha we love you so much The 4th wall is a lie 😂
Here’s all the wedding episodes that are present. They have to have a wedding and something that represents the feeling of what a wedding is about. 1st Wedding Episode Episode: Canterlot Wedding part 1 and 2 It focuses on the drama aspect and what goes into planning a wedding, like you gotta pick out or have a taller make your dress, pick out bridesmaids if you want them in your wedding an all the stress that really goes into planning the perfect wedding, also the catering for the food for the guests and the family that are there to see two people unite in marriage. Also, there’s the bride ending up being very picky about certain things like the color of the bridesmaids dresses and the food if she doesn’t like it, she might end up being a bridezilla, a bride who goes overboard on the wedding that she’s being very demanding and not compromising on some things. 2ed Wedding episode Episode: Slice Of Life It focuses on the feeling of the wedding and what’s important is that you’ll spend the rest of your life with the one you chose to be with. 3rd Wedding episode Episode: Perfect Pear The episode really touches on the romantic side of the wedding and the wedding being the actual solution to the problem. It also has allot of feel to it that gets you to feel for Bright Mac and Pear Butter’s relationship and how it was stronger then the feud but not enough to end it. It could’ve been an arranged marriage to fix the feud but that would’ve not the best option because you’re forcing two people together who don’t love each other 4th Wedding episode Episode: The Big Mac Question This focuses on the proposal itself and what actually goes into creating a proposal. Not all proposals are the same, because some people don’t like certain things, but it’s the same in some ways like you always have to play to your significant other’s love language and what they like best and what you can do best, kinda like combining what you can do while staying true to their love language. I gotta hand it to the writers for making 4 wedding episodes in a row and still giving the feeling of an actual wedding. Minus the monster attacks 10:50
Tonya Alleyne My thoughts are just sad, sad that it’s ending but I’m happy that it has happened. 9 full seasons and 9 years of episodes. May it go down as one of history’s most loved cartoons. I remember watching G3 while back when I was just a little girl, my parents were usually busy so they put me in front of the tv and some of my favorite cartoons and tv shows that were geared towards little kids at that time, it was the early 2000s and I was just a little girl. When I turned 12, I started to watch G4 and fell in love with it because of it reminded me a better version of G3, it was amazing and that’s how I became a loyal brony to this day. But I stopped watching it after season 3 because I couldn’t find the full season premiere online so I can watch it. So, this show has brought me back into my childhood and into my child self. That part of me that always loved watching colorful equines and a baby dragon. So in sort, I’m happy that it happened, but it’s still sentimental for me because of nostalgia, the show got me in touch with my inner Patton [You get points if you get that reference]. This show is what I’m gonna show my kids when I do eventually have them in the future.
I loved it. It was funny, entertaining all the way through, the moral is something new to me. I just enjoyed everything about and I just gushed when I see Sugar Belle and Big Mac together, they are just adorable and sweet -- I don't know how many times I d'awwed over Sugar's voice. It just spells sugar. lol. -- I loved the references, including the Star Trek one. I wasn't too fazed by the apple beast because Ponyville should really feel like Toyko in monster movies by now. lol. But, the wedding itself was so wholesome, I thought I was gonna shed a tear. I give it a 9/10. Reason I give it a 9 is because of one gripe I did have with the episode and I think it would've made the episode just perfect to me. During the wedding scene, the episode could've had a moment where Bright Mac and Pear Butter could've appeared as spirits watching over their son with his new wife. Sure the tree is symbolic of their presence, but it would've been so perfect if the showed up above the tree or in the background watching. That's an opportunity missed right there. Instead, we get Discord comedy. Okay? Sure, fine! Anyway, that's my only gripe. I still loved the episode.
I'm kinda surprised that Big Mac and Sugar Belle are having a wedding. That would be a great ending to their love story especially that they were a good couple since season seven.
I LOVED IT SOO MUCH!!!! IT WAS SOOO CUTE, TOUCHING, FUNNY, AND A PERFECT WAY TO END BIG MAC AND SUGARBELLE! And a great way to give us a great lesson in friendship, and whwn loved XD But the moment Suagr and Mac made me cry knowing they're different, they'll make it work. :) And he grew into a charator that spoke when needed and was beautiful!!
This has got to be my all-time favorite episode, so far, being the number one the episode about the Apple's parents. It was everything. Sweet, adorable, cute, really funny, entertaining and overall, just really enjoyable. I had a grin on my face and humid eyes ever since the last part of the episode, when BigMac and Sugar Belle walk up to the apple and pear trees, started. If I didn't have diabeetus before, I must have now. It was all too sweet!
This was an unexpected episode when I first saw it. It was GREAT, but unexpected as I didn’t think they’d make a final season episode based on Big Mac-Sugar Belle proposing. :D It was done perfectly! In fact, have to say, it’s one of my top favorite Final Season episodes so far! 😄
"Season 9 of MLP has really brought their A game to the table" And don´t let anyone say otherwise. Because while it had its fair share of somewhat forgetable episodes, It does feel overall like the staff giving something back after all these years. They have managed to deliver in some of the funniest, most entertaining episodes in the series´9 year run, and considering that those 9 years have had A LOT of fun, funny and charming moments, that´s a plus. This episode was no exception. While I wasn´t exactly behind the whole Sugar/Mac business (Not that I was against it, but Im somewhat against romance in the show as a whole) that moment with the apple and pear tree is one of the show´s high points. Just add Discord, a Star Trek joke and yet another suporting role for the CMC and you get one last great Slice of Life episode. Also, as an aside, I find it wholly appropriate that some characters go through something IN THE BACKGROUND.
I loved this episode :) i shipped these 2 as much as Thesponota XD Also i feel like your the best guy to talk about this brony situation and i don't really know what to do. Sorry, i just think your the best guy for helping other bronys with brony problems
Discord's mariachi scene is a direct homage to Star Trek: The Next Generation and Q ( played by John DeLancie, voice of Discord ) getting his omnipotence back from the Q Continuum. There's a fair amount of Star Trek nods in MLP:FIM and I love it.
Big Mac arc closed (and thus all Apple arcs finally come home to roost). Last slice of life episode of the show done. A very tender show, and a fitting end to the regular story lines. Just the grand finale now. Unless there really will be a 2021movie, but that's a long time, and as far as the show proper, Bronies, the moment is at hand, the deep plunge is upon us, prepare yourselves...
Seeing Discord acting like General Patton toward his apple soldiers was hilarious. Anyways, this has got to be one of top favorite episodes of the season. I love how it switched between each character's perspective during the first two acts, and how everything culminated together in the end. Now that put the 'Sweet' in Sweet Apple Acres.
Yeah it's not really a good Finale for the ending of the show. It would fit S6 or S7 but overall i think the actual epilogue episode is more satisfactory ending than this Finale.
This has me really excited for a potential time skip with a baby in the last episode. I haven’t seen it yet but the possibility is there! I wish it had happened earlier so we could have had one last AppleJack episode about dealing with the change of her brother being married. Either Sugarbelle will be on the farm using her magic, which is a break in tradition or Big Mac will move. Either way it opens up opportunity for growth for AJ who is steeped in tradition and has always had her brother to help her. Great episode though. Perfect for the last slice of life episode.
This is the last Slice of Life Episode. Which just made this episode even more emotional.

Well I rate the big Mac question episode 10/10 because of everything 😍😍😍
i loved this episode easily my top 3rd of all time and it had me laughing and no cringe, the pacing was good, good to see the big lebowski ponies again and even though i had seen a screenshot for it the background scene of lyra proposing to bon-bon you have to really looking because it goes by quick i had to rewind the episode just to make sure i saw it
I loved the Star Trek reference :) Grand Pear is Kirk, Briar is Spock, Who was Granny Smith?
Firstly, I loved this episode.
Secondly, Applegeek is going to break stuff in his house.
I am waiting for it he is going to say best episode of the season. Plus he better get the check mark ready.
I think this is one of my favorites episodes of the series.
As for my favorite bit...No matter how hard I could try, the ol' school Trekkie in me can't stop laughing at Granny Smith's dream. XD
The giant Apple Monster made me laugh and this was a cute, sweet, and well done episode! 😂
Loving how relatable the show is.💌
btw If someone didn't know, in this episode in the background you could see lyra proposing to bonbon (sweetiedrops)
That episode was ponyriffic! And it’s on my list of favorite mlp fim episodes
After seeing the title of this video, I realized I had a craving for:
1. A joke about Apple.
2. A joke about McDonalds.
3. A joke about the apple Macintosh.
Also, how exactly is Big Mac's full name supposed to be spelled?!!
You know Big Mac and Sugar Belle weren't the only ponies to propose to each other in this episode... Lyrabon.
Plus there was also the moment, where Lyra and Bonbon double-proposed in the background, during the chaotic apples sequence! It felt so validating! XD
I'm suprised that nobody has mentioned the ponys absent in the wedding.
I also think they should have had the mane 6, starlight, more of the Apples etc. be there, but it's not a big deal for me
Like I said in another reply they probably just wanted a small wedding
@@jacktheflash8478 That actually makes sense for these two, now that I think about it.
@@EvilScrooge Seriously? I'm the only one who's noticed so far? That's kinda sad.
@@lettyfraire4664 I don't mean here in the comments. Below and above us there is plenty of Lyrabon Proposal reminders, but as far as I'm aware nobody mentioned this in any of their videos. Not a single reactor pointed this out either.
@@EvilScrooge Still sucks, man.
Lyra and Bon Bon in the background both proposed to each other!!
Plus once again Discord created magical food And grand pear in space oh Tabitha we love you so much
The 4th wall is a lie 😂
Here’s all the wedding episodes that are present. They have to have a wedding and something that represents the feeling of what a wedding is about.
1st Wedding Episode
Episode: Canterlot Wedding part 1 and 2
It focuses on the drama aspect and what goes into planning a wedding, like you gotta pick out or have a taller make your dress, pick out bridesmaids if you want them in your wedding an all the stress that really goes into planning the perfect wedding, also the catering for the food for the guests and the family that are there to see two people unite in marriage. Also, there’s the bride ending up being very picky about certain things like the color of the bridesmaids dresses and the food if she doesn’t like it, she might end up being a bridezilla, a bride who goes overboard on the wedding that she’s being very demanding and not compromising on some things.
2ed Wedding episode
Episode: Slice Of Life
It focuses on the feeling of the wedding and what’s important is that you’ll spend the rest of your life with the one you chose to be with.
3rd Wedding episode
Episode: Perfect Pear
The episode really touches on the romantic side of the wedding and the wedding being the actual solution to the problem. It also has allot of feel to it that gets you to feel for Bright Mac and Pear Butter’s relationship and how it was stronger then the feud but not enough to end it. It could’ve been an arranged marriage to fix the feud but that would’ve not the best option because you’re forcing two people together who don’t love each other
4th Wedding episode
Episode: The Big Mac Question
This focuses on the proposal itself and what actually goes into creating a proposal.
Minus the monster attacks
10:50
maddy miller what are your thoughts on the ending of the end sofar if your watching it now
Tonya Alleyne
My thoughts are just sad, sad that it’s ending but I’m happy that it has happened. This show is what I’m gonna show my kids when I do eventually have them in the future.
maddy miller no I mean the finale that is on right now
Tonya Alleyne
Oh, is was a heartwarming conclusion.
I´m 100% agreed with you Doc, this episode was really funny and super
sweet. I almost teared up especially with the weading not only the
proposal.
I can just imagine Grand Pear in The Enterprise encountering Discord, and causing chaos ala Picard, and Q.
Doc you probably didn’t notice Lyra and bonbon each propose to each other
Well technically(speaking from experience)having a fear of clouds, specifically storm clouds, makes sense if you take Brontophobia into account.
After 9 years Lyrabon is canon
I am complete
I'm kinda surprised that Big Mac and Sugar Belle are having a wedding. That would be a great ending to their love story especially that they were a good couple since season seven.
I LOVED IT SOO MUCH!!!!
IT WAS SOOO CUTE, TOUCHING, FUNNY, AND A PERFECT WAY TO END BIG MAC AND SUGARBELLE! And a great way to give us a great lesson in friendship, and whwn loved XD
But the moment Suagr and Mac made me cry knowing they're different, they'll make it work. :) And he grew into a charator that spoke when needed and was beautiful!!
Granny Smith's dream is the show staff's last chance to say "FAN-FIC WRITERS, TO YOUR KEY BOARDS!"
In my opiniom its one of the best episodes of the Series
This has got to be my all-time favorite episode, so far, being the number one the episode about the Apple's parents. It was everything. Sweet, adorable, cute, really funny, entertaining and overall, just really enjoyable. I had a grin on my face and humid eyes ever since the last part of the episode, when BigMac and Sugar Belle walk up to the apple and pear trees, started. If I didn't have diabeetus before, I must have now. It was all too sweet!
you forgot about the perfect pear that had a wedding in it
Going from seeing Dr. Wolf cry to seeing laughing the hardest I've ever seen. What a day!😆
Man I’ve never seen you laugh this hard Doc XD
Welp I guess we're in the final stretch now ( even though I haven't seen any of season 9 yet because I'm waiting for it to be added to Netflix)
It's been since August I last saw this episode, gonna have to rewatch it. And I've been since then I waited for Dr. Wolf to review this episode.
This was an unexpected episode when I first saw it. It was GREAT, but unexpected as I didn’t think they’d make a final season episode based on Big Mac-Sugar Belle proposing. :D
It was done perfectly! In fact, have to say, it’s one of my top favorite Final Season episodes so far! 😄
I love that lesson makes me feel good that even if I screw up my relationship will find a way to live on
"Season 9 of MLP has really brought their A game to the table"
And don´t let anyone say otherwise.
7:42 is it weird that I love how much her hair bounced when she walked?
This was a very good episode and they brought back some things/references from previous seasons. Great review as always :3
I loved this episode :) i shipped these 2 as much as Thesponota XD
Also i feel like your the best guy to talk about this brony situation and i don't really know what to do.
Did you not see Lyra propose to Bon bon in the background?
Seeing Discord acting like General Patton toward his apple soldiers was hilarious. Anyways, this has got to be one of top favorite episodes of the season. I love how it switched between each character's perspective during the first two acts, and how everything culminated together in the end. Now that put the 'Sweet' in Sweet Apple Acres.
This show has a great record for wedding episodes
You seem to forgot the background ponie where Lyra proposed to Bon Bon.
To be fair, it's really easy to miss.
I think they both proposed at the same time. foreshadowing the end of this episode
It was very quick XD I was screaming
For me, this episode was a contender for best episode of the entire series: right up there with Crusaders of the Lost Mark and the Perfect Pear.
I loved the episode.
Finale next week
I hope you guys are prepared
You will love, hate,or both love hate the finale
Yeah it's not really a good Finale for the ending of the show. It would fit S6 or S7 but overall i think the actual epilogue episode is more satisfactory ending than this Finale.
Hey sis!
NO SPOILERS!!
Hey sis!
Don’t worry
I won’t
This has me really excited for a potential time skip with a baby in the last episode. I haven’t seen it yet but the possibility is there! I wish it had happened earlier so we could have had one last AppleJack episode about dealing with the change of her brother being married. Either Sugarbelle will be on the farm using her magic, which is a break in tradition or Big Mac will move. Either way it opens up opportunity for growth for AJ who is steeped in tradition and has always had her brother to help her. Great episode though. Perfect for the last slice of life episode.
If there was something that I would've added, it would've been to see Starlight standing next to the village ponies.
Same, I was so shocked that Starlight wasn't there to see Sugar Belle get married
I saw this as a blind reaction, because I just had to do a reaction to this instead of a review, I got done with the reaction
You forgot to mention that in the background during the Apples go wild in town scene, Lyra proposed to Bon Bon.
