    Thanks for this. I might install one into a Hornby Class 60 Diesel Locomotive with a camera inside the cab itself.

    Wow, Stan! Such detail in the landscape and the weathering of objects. I love it. Very impressive. The sound effects and the camera POV make it feel vey realistic. Great job.

    What a great day today! I stumbled across your awesome channel and have never heard about this camera system! Definitely on my wish list for my O Gauge Layout!!!!

      Kind of an odd name for a camera system, but it works in real time! Glad you could see it in action.

    Thank you for sharing. Looks so real through that camera lens. Like how you attached it to the switcher with your bracket. Enjoyed👍👀.

      Thanks! The camera really likes as much light as you can give it. I think I can adjust the settings better on it.

    I like that! What a great idea with the bracket and yes the view down the tracks is superb. That was very interesting and informative and yes making video is demanding. Every week? wow! Great video I enjoyed them all.

      I've been trying this past year to post much more often. And it seems although I do various topics, there's been a slow morphing into a train channel, so I'll just continue with that for now. Between HO, 7.5" gauge, 5" gauge, and some 1:1 scale, there will hopefully be enough content. Thanks so much!

    I like the way you mounted the camera to your locomotive, great idea.

      To be honest, I bought the camera thinking it would be the basis for a "train simulator" kind of remote control cab area, and didn't get started on that yet. So I haven't used it this summer. So sorry!

    Very cool perspective! Be careful about the music in the background, however. The mouse is very territorial about its property and I don't want to see your channel get a copyright strike 😟

    Thank you Stan. Where can I look to see what all I need to get this to work? My train shed is in the back yard away from my house. I have wi-fi in my house but out there it is at it's limit. If you have any thoughts I would appreciate any help. Thank you for your work and time.

    • @StanFerris
      @StanFerris  Рік тому

      Hi, steven. You'll need a lap top of course, and since this camera system is real time, you will need a fairly strong wifi signal. My router is not in the same room as my layout, so my signal was not the best at times. Perhaps you could look at one of those wifi extender gizmos to get some bandwidth into the back yard.

    How hard would it be to set that up so you could use a Oculus? To really have that POV in person to scale View

    • @StanFerris
      @StanFerris  Рік тому

      I've never messed with any of the POV gear. The cam I have just has one fixed lens. They do make one that swivels. Perhaps in the drone or rc plane world they already have the technology you want. Or maybe the Train Sim software would also have POV. Thanks for the interesting comment!

    Stan, how do you get the ccv camera footage uploaded to UA-cam? Can you create a file on your PC of the footage, or is a web connection always required to view it? I admit I am not a computer expert but have this camera on the way from Tom. I read the user manual and got more confused on this aspect.
    Ron

    • @StanFerris
      @StanFerris  Рік тому

      Hi Ron! This particular camera system is designed to give a real-time video feed to your computer via your home wifi network. I tested another type of camera in a previous program that was not a live feed, but sent the video images onto an sd memory card. You may be able with the Choo Choo vision feed to record it with an app or program on your computer. However, I did not experiment with that. Instead, I just pointed my video camera at the computer screen and recorded the feed that way. I could then edit the footage with my Video Pad software. The camera has to log on to your wifi, and then your computer can connect to it (not unlike a printer, etc.) and see a live video image.

    • @freescopesdad
      @freescopesdad Рік тому

      @@StanFerris Now I'm really confused... sorry for being such an illiterate in this regard, what do you mean by "I just pointed my video camera at the computer screen"? Was this a 2nd video camera that recorded what was playing live on the computer screen? How was the quality? Not sure I want to "invest" in a second camera. Can I use my GoPro? Thanks for your help Stan.
      Ron

    • @StanFerris
      @StanFerris  Рік тому

      @@freescopesdad So if you just want to watch the feed from the Choo Choo camera as the train is moving, then you don't need an additional camera, just view it on your computer. However, since I record, edit and post videos on UA-cam, I need a video camera that whether I'm in my shop, or out on a train. So that's why it was easy for me to just record what the laptop was seeing on my video camera pointed at the computer screen. GoPro would work just fine I think.

      @@StanFerris thanks for all the feedback. I decided it was much too expensive for my needs and sent it back last week for credit. I'm now using a cube camera that actually works and records decent video to the installed micro sd card. Vendor name is sirgawain, records only in 1080p, and, as I said actually works.
