The exchanges beginning at 14:06 are hilarious. I loved how Gene played along with Richard's blow dart. It's too bad he said he thought Byrd was the winning answer, but awesome that he was (OF COURSE, AS USUAL!) correct.
"EARL! YOU'RE FIRED! GET YOUR HAMMER AND YOUR SAW AND YOUR NAILS, AND GET OUTTA HERE, EARL!!!" LOL I'm sure Earl wasn't really fired, Gene was just joking around with him, as usual! LOL
Dick Gautier looks strange with that 70s Leif Garrett hair. It's also funny to think that in England they probably would have matched "pants" and "underwear". XD
This was the funniest bit with Earl by far. It would have been better if Gene had dragged Earl from his little room in there after telling him he was fired.
Best game show network classic game show ever match game pm to really enjoy since 1994 and 1995 as well as 1996 into today on you tube In 2023 going on 2024
This episode is probably the funniest out of them all. From the moment i heard the betty & allen question and it wasn’t insensitive -like they sometimes can be- i knew it would be a good ep. Betty’s Best man answer and the admiral tv situation made me howl 😂
Brett's reaction at 19:43 is one of the funniest spontaneous moments in Match Game history! Absolutely hysterical! She obviously didn't think she was going to get picked and wasn't looking forward to the pressure. I bet I've watched this tiny moment like 50 times. Her subsequent stutter on "Nnoo-yes!" is equally funny!
He was usually pretty careful about not smoking on camera. But he always had one lit! Same with Brett. Scoey really was the only panelist who smoked on camera
Lost in the whole Admiral debacle, this contestant is *very* strange. Isn't she? Her mannerisms and facial expressions and everything all seem ... just really interestingly off, somehow.
some times I wonder about the audience match. There are time I think Earl is in his cubby hole furiously putting the matches together while Gene ans the panel stalls for time.
I have felt like the panel was told in advance what would be up there. Most of the time, all three of the words are "guessed" by the panel. Sometimes the words are obscure or unexpected. It just seems pre-arranged.
So, the questions about Betty White's husband answering the phone and getting "Heavy Breathing"... Is there a reference about Betty's Mother I'm missing? Why did so many give that answer?
Have I mentioned how much I hate the way the Game Show Network mangled the ends of these Match Game programs? I want to see the old promos for Rice-a-Roni, etc. and not the terrible strobing, Game Show garbage.
Lost in this was a just-as-funny Dick Gautier, though not on a par w/ Richard Dawson Would you believe he had a role on "Get Smart" with Don Adams & Barbara Feldon?
We will never see cool people like this again.
Betty's "Best Man" answer made me howl - I love her so much. And is she not just drop-dead gorgeous too!
Only if you like the elderly mother look.
@@jjryan1352 Obviously you haven't seen her in her younger years.
The Invisible Man & When Things Were Rotten. Two long-forgotten short-lived shows...AND I'VE GOT 'EM BOTH ON DVD.
Loved this episode! All the shenanigans around "Admiral TV" was the icing on the cake! Thanks for posting. : )
Before Earl slid the answers I was thinking Richard was brilliant as always saying Admiral tv.
He's always trying to think outside the box!
OMGOSH, how much fun was that? Loved it...love Richard!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Really a Fun Game Show !! Gene Rayburn outstanding host and the stars were excellent and such characters of laughter!
Did anyone catch that Betty said Mother could be a dog - as in Bitch! LOL
Literally the good old days ❤
Loved the admiral TV part! Great going, Earl!!!
Why didn't anyone suggest Gene for the heavy breathing question?
The exchanges beginning at 14:06 are hilarious. I loved how Gene played along with Richard's blow dart. It's too bad he said he thought Byrd was the winning answer, but awesome that he was (OF COURSE, AS USUAL!) correct.

Oh...lol. Good one!
The new match game can’t compare to the old one!
Ditto,. the answers on that show are disgusting.
I agree with you.
Even the new Hollywood Squares can’t compare to the old show.
It never will.
instaBlaster.
Thank you for the upload. This was always a funny one. You could almost call it a part 2 to Burns and Cuts. Classic Dawson! :)
This is what Good Entertainment is...Not the crap that is on television now-a-days.
The 70's were the greatest.
I didn’t like the reboot with Alec Baldwin, they don’t have the same chemistry like they do in the 70s
@@tannerrichards8287 Very true Tanner.

NO KIDDING!
Earl, God bless you my boy!

You must be used to Hymie on Get Smart.
I love Richard!! He is hilarious!!!😂❤
Such a fun episode. Thanks!!
Legendary hilarity from Richard! He's such a scream in this one!
I really love how Gene has worked Earl into the show too. This show was a true one-of-a-kind. I ❤ Match Game!
This was the funniest bit with Earl by far. It would have been better if Gene had dragged Earl from his little room in there after telling him he was fired.
10:20 Betty's Fanny Flagg impression was on point!
Oh Lord, this ep was tooo funny. I hurt myself laughing at these nuts. Love Richard and Gene how they play off each other. Phew. My jaws hurt.
The funniest Super Match EVER!
Thanks for posting!!!❤❤❤❤
Highlight of game shows in general!
Heavy Breather=I match Richard again! "It's for you".
I thought they were all going to say that. No idea why the mother would be breathing heavily.

Betty’s Best man answer and the admiral tv situation made me howl 😂
16:16 - Let the cracking up begin.
Art Garfunkel was about 35 when this aired.
no clue why this was a gold star episode
And YAAAAAAAY Brett!!
Brett's reaction at 19:43 is one of the funniest spontaneous moments in Match Game history! Absolutely hysterical! Love you picked that up. I love it
I wonder if the contestant had gone with "Color TV" if Ira would've given it to her for "TV". If not there would've been another riot.
Likely, exact match isn't necessary at that level.
We have an attorney vs a part-time worker, and the latter made a comeback. I enjoyed the Super Match.
Betty White is gorgeous
Lol. She looks like an elderly mom
Thanks
Wow, Richard Dawson is smoking!! In a building, talk about back in the day. I saw that smoke wafting over to Betty, before she revealed ' undies'.
He was usually pretty careful about not smoking on camera. But he always had one lit! Same with Brett. Scoey really was the only panelist who smoked on camera
Reilly Hoy Charles smoked his pipe a lot on camera.
@@mikeleone1347 yes I guess I meant cigarettes.
I looked it up. Roosters crow AND cluck. 🐓🙂
What about Admiral Nelson?🧐
It's one of your dogs???! Oh man...
In Boston it originally aired on wbz nbc 4 and wnac 7 boston

some times I wonder about the audience match. There are time I think Earl is in his cubby hole furiously putting the matches together while Gene ans the panel stalls for time.
Me too. Cause sometimes it's just too pat.
I have felt like the panel was told in advance what would be up there. Most of the time, all three of the words are "guessed" by the panel. Sometimes the words are obscure or unexpected. It just seems pre-arranged.
I think John McEnroe would make a great attorney.
He does look a whole lot like him did you notice when his opponent won the set she tripped and his eyes opened up like he was ready to sue
Charles is the best.
That lady is dressed just like an Oompa Loompa 😂
On Match Game PM, Jill Baldwin came from behind and went on towon $11,000. Don't be surprised if she is related to the Baldwin brothers.
nobody applauds the attorney..haha!
The lady in the audience looks exactly like the blonde contestant..🤔
Gee ya think they might be related?
@@jjryan1352 Whadda ya think!🤨
@@Marie70272 I don't know. It's all so confusing.
"We got the idea Brett!!"
Thank you for sharing! Question: What does 'Mega Gold Star Episode' mean?
That’s just the uploaders way of saying its a very funny standout episode! ;)
This is TOP 5 Match Game episodes ever! That’s why I wrote Mega
Ok awesome!
I say!
Bad answer!
What does it mean that it's a gold star episode?
Brett matches the contestant to win her the money and then she spends the end of the episode sitting in Richard Dawson's lap. Hmm.
Classic
So, the questions about Betty White's husband answering the phone and getting "Heavy Breathing"... Is there a reference about Betty's Mother I'm missing? Why did so many give that answer?
Don't know about that, but my answer was Gene Rayburn.
It was odd. I thought "for you" was the obvious choice.
BRETT is so drunk she cannot shut up! She tries to upstage everyone with her big mouth that does not make any sense
Have I mentioned how much I hate the way the Game Show Network mangled the ends of these Match Game programs? I want to see the old promos for Rice-a-Roni, etc. and not the terrible strobing, Game Show garbage.
I love Sandy's hair style, very chic
16:57, best part
Somebody actually picked Brett for a Super Match! Brett's reaction is hilarious.
Lost in this was a just-as-funny Dick Gautier, though not on a par w/ Richard Dawson
Would you believe he had a role on "Get Smart" with Don Adams & Barbara Feldon?
That's where I remember (Gauthier) from!!! I saw him and I thought, "Why does he have blond hair?" His hair is darker ( on Get Smart).
He was the original Conrad Birdie in BYE BYE, BIRDIE!
@@Camop-iz9kt Was that before or after "Get Smart"? Me thinks it's before 1965,
