Jean might be my favorite contestant of all time. She is so sweet, and she's so thrilled to win! And if you watch all the way to the end, Richard is having the most animated chat with her that we EVER see him have with a contestant, as she perches on his lap. I wish we could see the closing shots better--there are some pretty weird commercials playing instead. This one is an all-time favorite for me!
I'm old enough to have seen this back then but looking at it now I have to admit to having no idea who Jody Donovan was. I see now she was Richard Dawson's significant other and also a singer, although it doesn't seem that she had much of a career of note as I could find practically nothing about her after a google search.
Dick really was 70% of Rowan and Martin. I love that Gene said that! I always thought he was creepy (as a kid), but it was a different time and now I can see he's actually quite caring, generous, talented and educated.
He hated his role on Hogan's Heroes, in which he used his English accent. He was trying desperately to remove himself from that as much as possible. He uses it at times on MG. But have you noticed that as the years went on, he started sounding more like a person from the southern United States?
Between acting and life in America, accents can change...I knew a coworker who had come to the US from England when she was young-by the time I met her, she a lilt in her voice but not much in the way of a full British accent...
@@pencils812he used a cockney accent in Hereos which wasn't natural for him. He was good at voices so chasing accents may have been a gift. I wonder if he slipped into an English accent when he went back to Britian. I loved Hogan's Hereos as a kid it was my after school go to to watch the Allies beat up on the Germans.
Match Game 76 starts out by accepting a "Specific to General" answer. The contestant said, "Watch the movie", but a celebrity said, "Watch", and it was accepted as a match. In many shows such an answer would be rejected because the person could have been watching anything and not necessarily the movie as indicated by the contestant's answer.
Wow! A window air conditioner? With a *handle* on it? So you can carry it from room to room and set it up all over again in another window? You know who would really like that?!? NOBODY!!!!!
Uh ... Yorkshire and Manchester aren't considered north England either, I don't think. Yorkshire is Yorkshire and Manchester is Manchester. When I hear "north country" I think Durham / Newcastle / Leeds, me'self.
Hi looking at the show at times i felt Jody Donavan wasn't to happy on that show for the moment well i don't blame her i was looking at Richard Dawson i found him to be kind of rude at times with his girlfriend and she even looked kind of sad also talking with Fannie most of the time i am sure there are many reasons why they broke up after looking at this episode just saying✌️
Did you watch The Real Match Game Story: BEHIND THE BLANK? Brett talks about how they disliked Richard. They were glad he left and glad when he didn't match the contestants. Gene's daughter also talks very negatively about him. I think she said he was psychotic. I'm guessing there was tension on the set. You can watch it on UA-cam.
@@pencils812 I've watched that documentary and Brett is absolutely disgusting, so happy that a contestant loses just because he or she tried to match Richard. Absolutely hateful and despicable old hag.
The world has certainly changed since this program -- and this episode -- aired, no question. I dare say that Standards and Practices would *not* have gone for "Dear Cow's Wife: Milk Him." these days!
Britain in the 1970s was all about clothes and decorations that looked like that. Watch the movie *Get Carter* -- it's like that woman's outfit, but a whole town of it, for two hours.
@@CinemaDemocratica I've never seen the British version of the movie, I believe that it's the original. The version I know is the American one with Sylvester Stallone.

This one, 19, and 106 are the most hysterical 😂
great show, now I have a craving for candy corn

Wow I didn't know that. She was gorgeous. Love that dress.

If this episode was today I'd have to imagine the winning head-to-head match would be Alexander Hamilton
What a great f'n episode!!!
I love to see a winner!
Cutie Jodi was Richard Dawson's love for years! What happened to them?💕
Why didn't he marry her?
@@mariakristinahawl1640 I don’t know the answer. He only married 2x
that's what Google's for
@@kristabrewer6736No asked you. Be nice for once in your life!
Dick Martin matched! ;0)
What a sweet lady.
Diane Newman That was a running joke...
Richard is also from England but I never understood why he never had an accent.

Or ,I also mean what happened to her?
Dick Martin was being a little salty on this program! Love it.

You don't HAVE to move it. Great for visiting people who didn't have AC, and there were still a lot of homes that didn't in 1976.
If that lady said Moulton, that's not north country. That's East Anglia. North England is Yorkshire and Manchester.
No, she said Bolton, near Manchester.

I'd suggest we let her decide where she's from.

How do you milk a male cow?
Get your girlfriend to show you. You'll be glad you asked.
Dick Martin always says nasty indueendos
I'll miss Brett Summer she was funny on match game
Richard could be moody at times, especially the later episodes .
You would be too if you got screwed like he did
He wasn’t happy with all the new rules. He wanted to really help people win❤️

His ego exploded and thought he should be the star
Gene creeps me out with all his kissing and Me Too comments.

She was very sweet though. Made me think of a big candy corn. It was cute in the day.
She heard that Gene liked orange. He wore a lot of it.
