    Nice fish, I caught either my best or second best trout at that same spot. Catching PB trout is so rewarding. 25" fish are pretty rare for the Pensacola area.

    Don't miss Jerry's Drive In if you haven't already been there. It's a Pensacola local favorite as well as McGuire's, have fun in the bathroom! If you've been there you'll know what I mean.

    I was looking forward to your video of the Cape. We (snownbirds) spent all winter a couple of years ago on the Cape way out on the end right before the park. Didn't hardly see anyone. The guys caught tons of whitning (sp?). I even got a trout by the "stump hole". Hard for us to imagine the crowds this time of the year. Try again if you can.

    Hey Ty when and how do you use the power clips when fishing. I see in some videos you go from line to power clip to lure and in this video you go from line to lure.

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  7 років тому +2

      i usually use the clip on my bait caster. i use them on the rod that will be searching and chunking lots of hard baits. i.e. mirrolures and unfair rip n slash and top water baits. i can change them out fast and try different colors and size hard baits to figure out what the fish want. i keep a spinning rod with a leader and no clip for worm hooking a soft plastic weedless style. can't use the clip for that.

    Very cool Video, Ty. makes me want to move away from the Texas Coast and go to Florida lol. Love the clear water! Since your in clear water most of the time, do you change colors on soft plastics?

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  7 років тому +1

      yea man. key in clear water is more delicate. SMALLER baits in bright or natural colors.

    Nice couple of days catching some trout and great video. Congrats on your PB gator trout!! Awesome fish. It must have been really close to 5 pounds. I have a couple questions for you Ty. I saw you had the training wheels for your revo. I just bought my first kayak (a 20 year old Outback) and was surprised how unstable I felt in it. The instability for me was when I wanted to turn around to get some gear out of my backpack behind me. I am considering buying the sidekick outriggers like yours. Do you like them? Do they really help a lot or just a little? They look like they are too small to effectively keep the kayak from flipping.
    Perhaps I should ask that a little differently, do you think they would help keep me from rolling the yak if I lean to one side a bit too much? $182 seems like a lot of ca$h for what it is unless they really work well. I am not afraid of swimming but i don't want to give my gear a saltwater bath or lose any of it. Maybe you could do a video on the stability factor gain by the sidekick ama kit, just a thought.

    Question, overall..which do you prefer better..Pescador Pilot or your Hobie Revo?

    Just started watching your vids. what would you recommend for a man that is 6' 270lbs. a 12' or 14' kayak snd where should i go and look. Pensacola,Navarre or Fort Walton. I live in Holt. Had a kayak when I was a kid but now looking again. that was 45 yrs. ago wow that sounds old. LOL

    • @GulfCoastAngling
      @GulfCoastAngling 7 років тому

      You should go for a 14' kayak. They're much more stable and track better for a big guy like you. That doesn't mean you can't find a 12' that suits you, but you'll have an easier time finding a 14' that you like. I would go to Pensacola Kayak and Sail and ask to demo their products. After you find one you like, just browse Craigslist to find a used one for sale.

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  7 років тому

      go try some bigger yaks at broxsons outdoors in navarre. ask them. then go test drive some bigger yaks at pensacola kayak and sail. they are on the water and let u try out anything. trying yaks in the water is the best way to find a sure fit.

    I figured it out Ty...I had insurance through Mike plus my ex went to school in CS ('86) and y'all ran some of the same circles. Have fun in Alaska and stay warm. I'm loading up now and will head out to Magnolia Beach in the RV tomorrow then to Rockport where we grab the boats and gear then head around to Padre for some heavy action.

    I always see you throwing baitcasters but never see Theresa throwing one. Any specific reason, or just personal preference?

    • @BipolarBLKSheep
      @BipolarBLKSheep 7 років тому

      I would assume personal preference. Baitcasters can be a pain to get comfortable with, and even then, you still have to deal with backlash and small little corrections to the reel when changing baits. Spinning gear is just throw it and reel it. simple.

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  7 років тому +2

      taprackbang88 is dead on. its personal preference and with bait casters there is a big learning curve. its cool tho. i can use my left arm to work rod with bait caster for hours. then when tired i can switch to spinning and get a break.
