Thank you for sharing a very simple and easy technique. I have tried other methods but I was not as successful as I was with your presented technique. I also went a step further and put some glossy Mod Podge on top once the glue had dried. It came out great with a nice shine and the paper remained smooth. This is my method going forward! Happy crafting!
Very nice! Our church sends 80 plus cards a month to our prayer list folks. This will be a nice new technique. We do stamping, embossing, photo cards etc... So this will give us a new look! Thanks for sharing.
LOVE love this napkin design..I do love to use a cricut & iron my napkin cards- ive done it both ways & i like the finish- because the napkin & paper fuse together - the result is like it was made that way..& the napkin rarely rips..TY for a sharing a great tutorial.
I've done the same technique using Elmer's spray adhesive (blue can with a bright orange cap) but the glue stick is a great alternative. Thanks for the tip! The glitter accent with WOS is the perfect touch since the design of the napkin speaks for itself. When I do my spray adhesive technique I score my card and cover the entire outside (front and back) with the napkin that is cut larger than the cardstock. Then I fold my card and trim it down to the desired size using my paper trimmer.
So THAT'S how to get the napkin placed right the first time! (No second chance with a napkin.) This opens up a new realm for me. I didn't do well with napkins, and gave it up. I wasn't going to add more plastic to the planet, and I won't use spray adhesive. This works. Thanks for showing us!
I did the iron technique yesterday and worked fine. Today came across your video but didn't have a glue stick so tried it on double sided adhesive and was perfect and so much quicker
Wheee! I have these napkins from Dollar Tree. I just put them in the goodwill box because I couldn’t figure out what to do with them. I’m so glad I stumbled onto this! Ty!
I have made my cards like this for years--using a combo of torn diagonally napkin, with stenciling on the blank part of the card front. Add 1 or 2 3D bird/butterflies...beautiful & easy!
Hi! Is there somewhere I can see the cards you spoke about, please? They sound beautiful, but I can't really imagine the details. Thank you very much for considering my request. 😃
That looks a professionally made, store-bought card! The addition of the little dab of sparkle on the butterfly and flowers really makes the pop. My great grandmother used to make home-made cards out of old greeting cards and calendars that people had given her. Sometimes, folks would give her old cards (or ones they messed up, with smeared ink, etc.) as a way to recycle. She cut out images and words and make new cards with them. She would have LOVED this!
I love the napkin you used. I have seen thus technique but wasn't on card stock and I'm happy to know how well it works. Now I can make my Easter cards using the napkins and using my craft glue stick instead of mod podge. Thank you for your time and easily understood instructions.
Michelle, this method was quick but I like both methods you used for making a napkin card. I also like how you embellished with your gel pens and markers providing the pop to the card.
I am a new subscriber from the UK, Thankyou so much for this adorable tutorial. I 'm going to replenish my stock of napkins today and continue this easy method.
+Jan Kitteringham Thanks so much Jan and welcome to my channel! I'm so glad that you've decided to subscribe. And I'm also glad that this video was helpful for you. This really is the easiest method I've tried. Happy crafting friend and I look forward to commenting with you in the future. 🤗🦋
Thanks so much for this technique. I had tried fusing the napkin using plastic wrap, that didn't work for me but this worked perfectly. I will now be collecting decorated paper napkins!
This was a great video. I am going to be moving Aug. 1 and will finally have my own craft room. I will definitely add this to my creations, it's so easy. thank you
TFS. You did a good job of NOT making us watch you separate the napkin layers. You started, and then you jumped to when you were done. Suggest you look for other ways to do that. Like when you put the glue stick on the card stock. Do a couple of strokes, then jump to the end and say "There, that's done", and move ahead. Same with cutting the napkin edges off after it's glued in place. In those cases, we see what you're doing, we don't need to watch the whole thing. Not making us watch repetitive steps speeds up the video, keeps our interest, and is a good way to get subscribers in my opinion. Thanks again for sharing.
I'm glad I came across this video..I liked the idea of using paper napkins to make cards but because I have a VERY inquisitive cat I don't feel like I can have something like an iron sitting around(for her safety)..this is a great alternative I'm definitely going to try this 😊
I love the way you decorated this card! I never find the pretty napkins at Dollar Tree, but have found nice ones at The Christmas Tree Shoppes (USA.) I adhere the napkin to the card like you do, but have worked well with Ranger Matt Medium and a wide-ish brush. Anyway, your technique and simple instructions and decorating are inspiring, Thank you!
I haven't tried this technique yet, but I loved my cards I made with the plastic wrap method. I am wondering if starting with a larger backer piece and then cutting it down to size might be a little easier. These are so fun to make and embellish. I love my "Stella", but also stickles, glossy accents, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on! I have even used feathers! Thank you for this timely reminder.
You're so welcome Bev! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The larger backer piece sounds like a great idea! Also, I too love my Stella, Stickles, etc. Anything that adds sparkle is tops in my book! ;-)
This is awesome...I just got some fall napkins so I'm going too try this...ty New here I just tried this... Couldn't peell any apart so maybe it's one layer... I took a small sponge brush along the edges when done... Seemed to work good... Love it
That's the first thing I noticed about this video! So classy and understated, not at all distracting; some of the wild colors and glitter make it difficult to concentrate on what I'm wanting to learn. I don't watch the video to see what you've done to your nails, I watch it too learn something. (Can you tell I REALLY don't like garish nail treatments ?!? lol)
great technique... first time seeing this, never seen the plastic wrap technique for napkin card making... only technique I'd seen so far was the mod podge technique... thank you for sharing ..
I just watch your video and tried it for the first time. When I turned mine over it had a few wrinkles so I use my bray to smooth it out. It worked great. You might want to tell them about this to help with the wrinkles. But mine came out as pretty as yours.
Ur right this technique is a lot quicker and easier than using the iron technique thx again for sharing your great I really enjoy watching ur videos ..although this is only the second time I run across them .. I am for sure loving it and subscribing to your channel..❤️❤️
Thank you, thank you, made a card using a napkin for the first time the other day & put Mod Podge on the card & cut the napkin to fit, big mistake, it tore, UGH. Your way is amazing & soo simple, Thank you so much. Now I won't be afraid to use napkins on thngs.
Thanks Arleene! I was so glad to learn this technique. It is definitely so much simpler. This is probably the technique I will use from now on. Happy crafting friend! :-)
Old hairspray could be sprayed over to.seal the glitter etc in n to give a finish.over the surface....A lovely neat n simple technique......maybe I could use it to make a cover for my journal..?TFS !!
You could easily add your own personalized message inside the card, too. Print it on regular printer paper, making sure the printed area (+ a margin) is smaller than the size of the card stock. You could play with the font and make it look any way you like. Attach it with glue, directly to the crd stock, or with decorative yarn or ribbon, through tiny punched holes. OR, you could lay the insert paper down on the card stock and cover the inside edge with adhesive (glue stick) and then place a ribbon (wide enough to cover the glue) over top of it. The paper would not extend into or past the folded edge of the card, but only cover one side. This would leave the rest of the paper loose, but still secure. You could also use glue dots, or adhesive corner holders, like in scrap-booking.
Really beautiful! I wonder how much more classy it would look if you embossed all of it in clear embossing powder (would protect it too I think) and you could always still embellish on top of it.
Hi! This is lovely! Do you have a video showing how to embellish the paper napkin card? Can we add ink? Embossing powdee--when you heat it? Regular glitter? Water color paints, etc? Thank you so VERY MUCH for sharing this technique! I want to make 200 cards for the holidays! Thank you! Traci
Thanks for sharing this technique. It is so much better than collage medium because I can neve r kerp it from wrinkling no matter hw hard i try. I kn I w some people don't mind that but it bugs me , so thaks again for sharing this.

Me too! BIG fan of cricut iron on- i love the effect - it bonds/ fuses the paper with the napkin & yields a professional texture!
Indeed this is much quicker and easier to craft. I still have your older video. Keep em coming sister!
Great idea, I just came across your video after watching the plastic wrap
..so glad I did. Thank you for the tip.

Hello! Does the spray adhesive have a strong smell?
I am SO GLAD I watched this after the iron on tutorial !!! This so much easier and looks beautiful. 🤗😇😇
What a wonderful and quick way to make some outstandingly one-of-kind lovely cards. Thank you.

I have used this technique for a few years as I didn’t know there was another way. It’s so easy and works well. Love your video.
Thank you so much :-)
That is so simple and much easier than melting the plastic. It's just beautiful!!!
I love this. I have so many napkins, and now I know how I want to use some of them. Thank you.
I'm so glad you like it 😊
Less work, super easy and the cards came out beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Happy that I saw the way you made this card. Yours was the best and easiest to make. Thank you!
What a gorgeous paper napkin, it looks so lovely on the front of the card. Such an easy technique too. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing your "no iron" method with us. Can't wait to try this technique.
just started making cards with napkins. this is such a great way to do it even for a beginner
Michelle, this method was quick but I like both methods you used for making a napkin card. I also like how you embellished with your gel pens and markers providing the pop to the card.

Thanks so much Carol. I'm so glad this technique worked out for you. This is definitely the easiest I've tried. Happy crafting! :-)
This was truly an easier way to make cards from napkins. The embellishing was a great touch also. Thanks.
looks so easy! I like how you put the card on top of the napkin.
Ohmygosh, that's so pretty! That little touch of Wink of Stella is perfect! Thanks for sharing this lovely card. :)
This was a great video. I am going to be moving Aug. 1 and will finally have my own craft room. I will definitely add this to my creations, it's so easy. thank you
Love this! Beautiful card! And I love the final touches!!

I have had zero success with the plastic wrap. I am definitely going to try this method! Thanks for sharing!
Easiest napkin card so far and you really elevated it with the shimmer pen. I’m going to try this tomorrow! Gotta look for more of your vids!
I have tried the other method and it worked great. Now I'll give this one a try. Thanks for the demo!
You're so welcome Kathy. Let me know which you prefer. I really enjoy both methods but this one is so quick and easy.
I prefer this method. It really is quick and easy! I apply a coat of Mod Podge sparkle over it afterwards to help seal it and give it some shine.
What everyone else said, LOL. Great video, just the way I like them...quick & easy. Thank You for sharing it with us!
Wow how nice! I love the idea of using the gel pen on the napkin too, to make it your own! Lovely!
I'm glad I came across this video..I liked the idea of using paper napkins to make cards but because I have a VERY inquisitive cat I don't feel like I can have something like an iron sitting around(for her safety)..this is a great alternative I'm definitely going to try this 😊

Very pretty! I wasn’t a big fan of glitter till I saw this. Your extra touches made the images jump off the page. BTW, Thanks for saving my iron!
Amazingly beautiful. Thankyou. I love watching you. Very detailed. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much :-)
Great way to apply the napkin! Thank you for sharing. I will be trying it shortly.
+Sherry Gibson Yvw. I had so much fun with this technique.
I love this technique it’s easier than with the saran wrap I’m glad You took the time to share with us God bless you

Love this technique! I'm gonna try this for Christmas cards.
That's great Veronica. Happy crafting and have a very Merry Christmas!

New here
I just tried this... Couldn't peell any apart so maybe it's one layer... I took a small sponge brush along the edges when done... Seemed to work good... Love it
The card front is lovely! I will try this method.
this is a real nice way to put your napkins on. I did this years ago and cut strips to make paper beads that turned out real well.
So beautiful and the pens made it your own. Thank you.
How beautiful I’m going to be on the lookout for napkins now‼️
There are some very pretty paper tablecloths too that could make a lot of cards. Thanks!
Your card is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
I love your manicure. Wow. It is perfect.
Aww, Thank you so much! :-D
That's the first thing I noticed about this video! So classy and understated, not at all distracting; some of the wild colors and glitter make it difficult to concentrate on what I'm wanting to learn. I don't watch the video to see what you've done to your nails, I watch it too learn something. (Can you tell I REALLY don't like garish nail treatments ?!? lol)
Thank you so much for your ideas & for sharing! You can never have too much glitter lol 😉 love it! 💕
Love this napkin and how easily you applied, I have todo this for sure. TFS.

Yvw Val! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It really is as simple as it looks. Have fun and happy crafting! :-)
Looking for information on glitter pens. I’m on an iPad and don’t see description “below”. I’m new! Thanks!
So much easier! I love it! Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Lee
Thanks so much Lee. I'm glad you liked it.
I really like this better than with the plastic wrap. Smart thinking!🤗
This is how I do my napkin cards too. So much easier. Thanks
Either way is great!!! This s an easy and economical way ... greeting cards are so expensive these days and this a great idea❤️
Thanks so much Anita! :-D
Thanks for letting us know. I was thinking about using my Mod Podge too...
Arleene, did you put the MP on the card or over the napkin or both? It could make a difference...
Old hairspray could be sprayed over to.seal the glitter etc in n to give a finish.over the surface....A lovely neat n simple technique......maybe I could use it to make a cover for my journal..?TFS !!
This made a lovely card , I have done this on Journal pages , but never thought to do it on a card ,,, ,xxxx🌼🌺🌸
I agree with you on the no iron ...I watch your video after I saw the other way and like this so very much ..thank you
I'm so glad you like it. Thanks so much Dolores :-)

Fabulous! Thank you from London, UK!
😎👍👍 I will do this with my Mom,Daughter's & Granddaughter's TY TY TY Best thing is I have everything needed 😊
That’s great Sabrina. Happy crafting! 😃
Lovely card - love the sparkle! TFS!
Its definitely quicker than the ironing method. What a beautiful card - the more glitter the better!
Hello ! If you use white glue , it works also and if you put a plastic over the napkin , you can use your hand or a cloth to press the napkin ...
I love your work, I love it, thsnk you so much❣️❣️❣️❣️🇵🇪
Thanks. I’ll definitely try this. It looks so much simpler than the ironing method x
So much easier, it will save my arthritic hands lifting the iron, thank you. Huggles xxxAnnxxx
Really beautiful! I wonder how much more classy it would look if you embossed all of it in clear embossing powder (would protect it too I think) and you could always still embellish on top of it.
Beautiful work, and easy to create.
Thank You For Sharing, Beautiful. I like both methods 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much Virginia. :-)

Fantastic what a wonderful technique thanks for sharing. Blessing xx
Thank you! Traci
I have subscribed to your channel! Thanks for a wonderful new idea for cards!
Thanks for sharing this technique. It is so much better than collage medium because I can neve r kerp it from wrinkling no matter hw hard i try. I kn I w some people don't mind that but it bugs me , so thaks again for sharing this.
Thank you so much Shawna. Wrinkles bug me too. I’m so glad you enjoyed this technique. Happy crafting! 🤗🦋
TFS it’s such a simple way of doing it
I like this method also. I do this same thing with spray adhesive. I can move it around if needed.
Beautiful card. I like the idea of doing it this way rather then using the iron. I wish I could find pretty napkins like that at the Dollar Tree. Thanks for the tip.
