Wow! I was looking for recycling ideas for junk journaling and had no idea something this simple could be turned into something so amazing! Thank you so much for this. Looking forward to making my way through your channel archives and future videos. Lotsa love and happy all-idays from Louisiana.
Hi Rhonda, I just found your channel, and I was a Stampin Up Demonstrator for 3 years. I had lots of fun doing it. I found that when using glitter or flocking on my cards to keep it from coming off when the recipient opened the card if I sprayed a product called Workable Fixatif by Krylon on the card it would hold all the glitter or flocking on and everyone was quite happy. You can find it in the paint section of any wal-mart or Hobby Lobby store. I love it, it works wonderfully. But make sure you spray this in a well ventilated area. Great video!
Thank you for that suggestion, as pretty as her card turned out I wouldn't want to receive it because of the glitter fallout. I've heard of the workable fixative but haven't tried it.
I kept trying to build up a scene but looked more like a preschooler done it. I'd throw mine away time and time again. This is how to build up the forest.....I'm shaking my head....crazy easy......And it is beautiful.
A little tip ladies and Gents. If you do use dryer sheets make sure you take your lint catcher to a bath with dish washing soap and really hot water let soak for a minute or so. Then take a toothbrush or fingernail brush and scrub your screen really really good to scrub off the wax build up rinse really good in hot water, air dry. This my friends can make sure your house does not BURN down. My brother was a firefighter and told me to do this twice a month. Mark it down on your calendar to remind yourself or family member and put a check mark ✅ to be assured it was done. Be diligent about this. It can be life or death. You really should do this regardless if you use dryer sheets or not. Also....don’t forget to make sure your outside vent is clear of build up. ✅ Be safe out there. Hugs to all. 🤗
Patti Jo Sinerius. However, for the sake of the environment, it's important that we refrain from using dryers and hang our laundry out in the air instead. Fresh air won't produce fibres and your clothes will last longer.
Thanks Patti. I remember some years back, there was an elderly lady that died when her house caught fire. Result of not cleaning her dryer vent that went to outside. Was a very sad thing.
Mary Hansen its not the dryer its where the electricity comes from. If stating that then you need to hand wash clothes more so than using the dryer. We need hydro electricity, water power as in damns to turn turbines instead of coal fired electric plants. Or use whole house solar that Tesla has already invented to go off grid. But most cities and states because of singed into private utility companies dont allow you to go off grid. Or charge you a huge fine and you still are charged a monthly stipend “to be off grid”. The delima tiny house builders are facing unless living on a friends far. They are not really “off gird”. In some countries they are developing smaller self run communities. Changing to composting septic type systems but several blocks attached to it. Same with solar and heat. The area the size of a city or county runs itself. The actually act of using a washer or dryer does not affect the environment any more so than wearing clothing and walking about does. Why we have to dust our houses.
lyricwritertoo . I don't have an issue with nature... a house is not a home until you can write 'I love you' in the dust (joke)🤣. There are other ways to dry laundry indoors.
Patti Jo Sinerius My mother-in-law got complacent about cleaning hers and it started to ignite one time. Luckily she was nearby and caught it before it caused any damage. As for dryer sheets....who needs all those chemicals going onto their clothes? I gave them up over a dozen years ago and never missed them. They were a “created need” for profit.
Lovely technique. I love the smell of the hot glue sticks lol. I love sparkly I think I must of been a magpie in my former life lol. Thank you for sharing. It's amazing the things that we can recycle for our arty crafty stuff.
Absolutely beautiful cards!! Thank you so much for teaching this technique! I can not wait to try this!! Guess I am going to have to wash some clothes....😂😂😂
spraying hair spray after applying glitter can help with the fallout. Spray the hair spray, wait for 30 seconds then cover with a clean white sheet of paper and press lightly then remove it. Glitter will stay in place.
That’s a very beautiful Christmas card for July or any time of the year. Handmade items are much more personal and I love giving gifts like this. When I got married my mother’s friend presented us with a handmade quilt that she made on a wooden frame she also made herself, that was 40 years ago this past July and the quilt is still as beautiful today as was then. I’m going to try my hand at making a card for my grandkids’ birthday and use calligraphy for the lettering. The ribbon bow is a nice touch too. I think my grand daughter will really like that. ❤️😎 Thanks for sharing. And yes, I did 👍🏽 and subscribe.
I would definitely paint the trees myself so the trees aren’t just duplicated over and over, and so the scene would look like a real landscape - but I love the layering with the card stock and the dryer sheet and glitter!
Hey Rockstar Stamper, that is so beautiful .I'm going to try that it's so easy and fast .I never would have thought that using a dryer sheet like that would just open up more possibilities .I'm going to try it. I will continue to watch your videos.
🌞I use dryer sheets for so many things. I wash out pots & pans that may have sticky, greasy, gross leftovers in there. Just swipe it out, throw it away and get another to scrub any left overs and they work GREAT! Great for plates, etc as well. Silverware is especially great because you just push the tynes of the fork through the sheets and it cleans the inbetween works really well. they're great for cleaning the air conditioner filters out and I even spray them with something fragrant and put them in the filter. it really works well. you can use an unused sheets and with a clip just attach it to outside of A/C OR heat and it'll last a week or longer. I stuff them in the used paper towel roll or even unused for safe keeping. LOVE them! Bonus tip.... for heavy tea or coffee drinkers, they work GREAT in the porcelain mugs or cups that are usually heavily stained. Cleans them right out. I love solutions. ENJOY!! LOVE THE CARD IDEA Too! Cheers🌞💞
you all prolly dont care at all but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Jameson Emory thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Thank you for that tip. I was concerned that the glitter wouldn't adhere well enough with a glue stick and dryer sheet barrier.
Wow - great example of using something from the "trash" to make something beautiful - love it!!! Thanks for sharing!
Who would not want to receive this Christmas card .. just beautiful !

That is beautiful. I use my dryer sheets and put the dryer lint in it then stuff it in a toilet roll for quick fire starters.
