Hi from Lancaster, PA. ❤️ this card. I have made napkin cards from dinosaur 🦕, 🌹 and 💐. I also made children's cards from Christmas paper. Great fun. I like your tip to use embossing powder. Thanks.🤗❤️🤗
I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video Dolores! Great idea to use Christmas paper. That's a great way to coordinate the card with the gift. Thank you for that suggestion!
Love making napkin cards. I leave a little extra around the edges so I make sure the embossing goes all the way to the edge. This also gives you something to hold onto while you are putting your versa mark on as well as the glitter. Love your card. Thank you for sharing.
That's such a great idea Mary! Do you trim the extra off when you're ready to mount it, or wrap the extras around to the back? Really a good idea - I do have a hard time holding on to it.
Thanks Pat! I'm so glad I could twist your arm! :) If there are specific ideas, techniques, or things that you are interested in, let me know. I have a plan of intended topics, but am open to suggestions/requests. I'll work requests in as best as I can!
I'm happy to see new ideas, but I also like to see the older ideas we may have forgotten about. I don't think the old ideas and techniques are any less worthy.
Thank you Kathy! I keep picking up more holiday napkins, so they are piling up. My latest find was some St. Patrick's Day napkins. Might turn out cute!
@@ToniStamps I know it seems really weird. By placing the safety layer of parchment paper over the top, I keep the iron moving around and gliding over the top. Takes a couple of minutes. I’ve done the iron over glue and iron over plastic wrap methods and they both worked a dream. Best part, no wrinkles.
Thank you so much Debbie! I'm glad you love these! I was just looking at my napkins the other day...I have so many other beautiful ones to use up. You're right - great technique for a fast card.
I know exactly what you mean Brut! Thank you, yes - that's a great idea too. Someone else told me to also try a little bit of glue from a glue stick. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks so much Chica! :) It really makes you look at napkins differently. I lifted one from my mom's house on Mother's Day! It was cute - lemons and buffalo check...I had to grab it!
Beautiful Video. Thank you for sharing. Could you kindly let me know what is dimensional that you have mentioned to use instead of glue? I’ve heard it mentioned quite often but I don’t understand what it is. Thank You ✌️❤️👏
Thank you N HW! The dimensionals are Stampin' Dimensionals. They are little foam dots with adhesive on both sides. We use them to pop/raise things up - give them more dimension. Stampin' Dimensionals is a Stampin' Up specific product, but foam tape serves the same purpose. You could cut foam tape into little pieces to get the same result.
Hi Johanne, I don't think any of the napkins that I have, had any holes in the border. Some have raised up dots, that I think is what helps hold the plys together. Maybe those look like holes? Regardless - I think if there were holes, you will see whatever color cardstock you mount your napkin on through the holes. If you wrap the sides of your napkins around your cardstock layer, then it hides anything like that. I feel like I might not be understanding correctly...so let me know if that helps. Thank you!
Hi Elaine! I’m sure any heat gun that says it’s good for embossing will do. The first one I ever had was by Marvy, and I got it at Michael’s or Joann’s. I think Tim Holtz has two different heat tools - one looks like a mini hair dryer and is not ideal for embossing. It will work, but it takes longer. I’ve had the heat tool from Stampin’ Up for probably 20 years now.
Hi there! Yes, when I've got a colored card base (which is most of the time), I always add white or vanilla to the inside so I can write my message. Thank you for the question!
Excellent idea Mary! I keep forgetting that I have one of those too! Still in the box, but it's here somewhere. I should find it, and give this a try. :)
Hi there! It's called a Versamark Watermark ink pad, and is widely available. Stampin' Up carries them, along with just about every major craft store (online or in store), and even Amazon. It's a very useful ink pad, and worth having in your stash.
Hi Patricia. I was using some Adhesive Sheets from Stampin' Up. They come in 6" x 12" sheets. (www.stampinup.com/products/adhesive-sheets) I also still have some made by Sizzix from a long time ago.
Hi Patti! I've found them all over - Walmart, grocery stores, even pharmacies (like CVS), Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Joann's...they're all over. I check the seasonal sales.
Hi Rose! Thanks for all your positive feedback. I liked the grosgrain too! I'm glad I still had some of that super wide Chocolate Chip stuff with the stitched edges! Toni

I remember years ago we adhered the napkin to the card stock by placing a piece of wax paper in between and ironing it
Neat Debi! That's one I haven't heard of yet. I've heard of using plastic wrap, but not wax paper. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@ToniStamps maybe I better try that because plastic wrap sounds good too. Be sure to take an old iron in case you get too close to the edge
I would definitely use some parchment paper, just in case. I know myself, and I'd wreck something.
Great tutorial, thanks for the embossing tip x
Glad you enjoyed it Jacky, thank you!

Thank you Deborah. That's nice to hear. I love the fall ones too!
Awesome idea!
Thank you Alyssa!
WOW great tip on the tape to help start the separating.
Yeah, sometimes you just need a little extra grabbiness to help shake the layers apart.
Thank you for showing me how to do it. Awesome!
You’re so welcome Brenda. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I will use this technique at my next class. It is so less messy than mod podge or ironing on saran wrap!!! Thx so much
That's awesome! I agree on the mod podge, although I may try a glue stick in the future myself. Ironing...too much trouble in my book. :)
Lovely napkin cards
Thank you Sheila! I have something in the works using more napkins, coming up in the next month!
Beautiful!
Ironing them on works great too.
Thanks Kari! How long do you have to hold your iron on? I've been leery of trying that method. : (
