    You don't need to use blender, the ue5 modeling tools are sufficient enough for this task. Change from select mode to modeling mode, select the rectangle. then set the width and depth size followed by setting the width and depth subdivisions. You can then export the resulting plane, then import it back in to get the skeleton mesh.

      Great tip, I havnt used a lot of UE5 modeling tools apart from the basics. So that is nice to know!

    Really dig the vibe in your tutorialz!, always with cool stuff and right on point, no f** around without too much overcomplicated confetti with basic templates leaving us room to experiment with our own stuff.. i'll stick around!

      Thank you!! I always try to make my tutorials straightforward and with the requered features only, so then devs can expand them with their needs! Thank you for those kind words!

    Thanks for this. Does this aply to clothing meshes also? How does one aply the vertices to let's say a static piece of clothing?

    Thanks for the Tutorial. BTW you can just create the plane in UE using the modeling tab and add vertices when creating the plane in the modeling tab. Not sure if that would work or not... Probably have to convert to skeletal mesh though.

    • @GorkaGames
      @GorkaGames  Рік тому

      Thanks! Yeah I believe that using the UE modeling tab you can also add vertices to the plane. However You would still need to export it and import it as a skeletal mesh. But I will play with it and see if I can get something going. thanks

    It doesnt collide at all with the environment or any actors.
    Man sometimes you make amazing tutorials, and sometimes you rush it and skimp out on the critical finishing bits.

      in order to make the colth collide with the environment, select the actor in the cloth scene, and then enable "Colide with Environment". Sorry if I missed that on this tutorial..

    Would there also be a tutorial on how to make cloth work over other meshes? I'm trying to get a blanket to react to be draped over a couch and can't get it to work correctly.

    I made a rectangle in the modeling mode of Unreal 5, exported and imported it, but it seems that the skeleton mesh was not applied well. Is there anything else I need to check when importing?

    Hi! How can I make the fabric interact with the character? When the character and the cloth are separate objects in the scene, the cloth collision with the character does not work :(

    Im late but Im just going crazy here! Maybe you can help. Everytime I press play to simulate anything, a Mannequin spawns. I just want to see my level animated without a controlling a mannequin. Do I need to delete all the mannequins or start a first person project? I want to create a short animated scene with an environment with a figure in the distance wearing a cloak that moves in the wind. How in the world do I set that up? Please help a beginner out ^^

      @4chopchop 4 місяці тому

      Hey, I don't have an answer to all your questions, but I believe, if I understand the first issue correctly, that you want to simulate without it turning into a game with a mannequin that spawns and has the camera attached to it. If that's the case, what worked for me was to press on the three dots on top of each other on the ride side of the box that the play button is in. Then select Simulate. This should simulate the physics without the mannequin spawning. Pressing Alt+S should also do this. I hope this helps.

    No need to use blinder for plane right ?

    • @GorkaGames
      @GorkaGames  Рік тому

      You have to add more polygons into the mesh so its able to blend correctly. So you would need a 3d software lik blender to do it.

      Is it possible to get something similar fully in blender? I don’t think real time cloth simulations like this are possible there right?
