Celibidache was more than a great conductor.......he was philosopher and used his performance to create a transcendental experience with every performance. He did not want his concerts recorded because the listener could not experience it outside the energy created when he listens to a live performance. Any other conductor would be so happy to sell records......he just believed so much in that direct flux of energy that can only happen during a live performance.

The point where you find Celibidache's rehearsals as marvelous as those of his concerts that are truly eternal. This is very beautiful.
