The beauty of classical music lies in its ability to evoke profound emotions without uttering a single word. It is a language that surpasses linguistic boundaries, connecting the hearts of listeners across the globe through the shared experience of its timeless melodies.
I can't remember watching any YT rendition of this incredible work where the conductor didn't seem to be really enjoying the music and this one is no exception. I love the expressions on Stéphane Denève's face.
Bellissima musica celestiale, sembra davvero di essere in Paradiso insieme ai nostri defunti/ Beautiful celestial music, it really feels like being in Heaven together with our deceased, das Himmlsche Leben.
This recording is arguably the best Faure Requeim on UA-cam. The choir is well rehearsed and the blend, balance, and intonation are top notch. The conductor's tempos are nicely paced and never rushed. The Pie Jesu is too operatic for this work however; it should be gentler with far less vibrato (my opinion). I question one thing, though. In measure 82 of the Agnus Dei, (the recapitulation of the opening theme), why is there an A natural in the bass line on beat 3 instead of an Ab as written in the score?
I don't think so. This is the 1901 version of the Requiem, and Rutter's arrangement is for the 1893 version. This performance could be either the original 1901 version or the version arranged by Nectoux.

Absolutely. I at 70 years old fell in love with classical masterpieces for the first time in all of my life. Now I cannot get enough❤
Beautiful performance of this magnificent orchestra and choir and chorus
Magnifique!! Deserves more views! 😅

My fave requiem
Very nice Fauré Requiem performance. Great chorus work & orchestra. Inspired conducting. Very enjoyable.

Perfect in every way

Agree with you on the Pie Jesu, and quite out of pitch. What a pity. And yes, the Ab is a BIG mistake there. Phew, I was shocked!
Nice speed
Music happens between the notes. I sing to stay centered after a stressful day in the O.R.
❤️❤️❤️

Is this John Rutter's arrangement for small orchetra and chorus?
I don't think so. This is the 1901 version of the Requiem, and Rutter's arrangement is for the 1893 version. This performance could be either the original 1901 version or the version arranged by Nectoux.

The baritons' Outfit looks like a pyjama😅
😂Ok now that you say it…😂
What is he thinking?
overall, nice rendition and recording... unfortunately, the solo on "Pie Jesu" was not ok: too much vibrato and steadily "calante" 😥
I'm not a musician so I'll have to bow to your superior knowledge but my uneducated ears liked the noises they were hearing. 🙂
