  • I wanted to share some tips on using Mutable Instruments Marbles with Dreamsquence's CV harmonizer. Most of the concepts apply when using other modules. I hope you find it useful-- and apologies for it being a bit of a ramble (chapter markers at the end of this description).
    Background:
My personal favorite feature in my Norns script, Dreamsequence, is the Crow-based “CV harmonizer” which addresses a problem that was flummoxing me: there are wonderful generative sequencers in the modular world but it never felt like I was able to really compose with them. Just playing notes from a scale can create a pretty soundscape but doesn’t really have much musical depth or movement to my ear.
So this harmonizer works by letting you send any CV from your modular synth (aforementioned sequencers, function generators, controllers, random noise…) into Norns where it can be transformed to harmonize with a chord progression you’ve programmed into Grid. The way I like to think of it is that any CV-making module in your synth suddenly gains chord-aware superpowers.

Yeah the red acrylic is awful in bright light. I swapped it from a black faceplate kit someone was selling on Reverb. Not sure if Pro has something similar but I hope so as I am looking to upgrade.
