The battery life is bad because the CPU lacks integrated graphics. That's why you avoid it. Apparently everyone in this comment thread didn't bother to watch the video.
I unplug mine sometimes when I want the fan to STFU, since it's the only way I found to actually make it run on less power / heat and make the fan quiet. The "performance settings" don't seem to change anything. Performance unplugged are barely impacted but the fan either stops or barely turns. Not a "gaming laptop" though. Lenovo Ideapad with Ryzen 5 5625U and integrated graphics. It plays some games, up to Deep Rock Galactic. I hate noise. This laptop in the video is actually interesting since it runs so cool and quiet. But too expensive for me. I'll keep my potato laptop for now unless some very good opportunity comes by.

Step 1 download afterburner step 2 lock the clock at a non boost clock speed. step 3 undervolt until you reach the same power consumption of the iGPU while doing everyday tasks (7-15w) step 4 save the profile so, when you are doing document your 4060 will act at half speed like a normal igpu. When you game, switch the profile and enjoy your powerful external GPU. Problem solved.
the 4060 is officialy stated to run at a minimum of 35w. and undervolt that extreme will never work. plus 99% of users wont even know what you are talking about if you tell them about this, it is extrememly predatory for the masses
@@davitdavid7165 it's minimum 35w when 100% of use. Not 35w when idle state. So if you lock the clock and do a massive undevolt you'll probably don't get the 3w power like an iGpu but you can have a massive uplift in battery life while being able to do all the normal tasks. Ps: windows and Informatics need skills. It's a choice to be an informed consumer or not
Luckily it's doesn't solve the issues, while using igpu only, on idle battery life still sucks. There's an issue on motherboard, some part draw more power, causing overheat and later motherboard getting fried. It's on every LOQ 15xx model, my local lenovo repair center already confirmed there's a lot of cases like this
You are getting 4050/4060 at the price of 3050 by sacrificing 30 minute battery life. 😂 Why should we complain? * No battery sacrifice as compared to Intel HX. Even without iGPU this Amd one has more battery life than intel.

To be fair, with laptops like this, battery life is expected to be poor, even with ones with integrated graphics. People who buy gaming laptops usually plug it in most of the time to utilize the performance. The main feature of them is the simple portability of the system compared to that of a desktop. Fair point that battery life is abysmal, but the intended audience of them shouldn't care too much
I was sniffing around Best Buy yesterday while out for groceries and stunbled upon an LOQ just clearance priced @ $316. I asked for one and was told they went on sale that morning and were sold out -so I asked about the display unit. He said same price for just laptop and power -OK, but after about an hour of reset, they rung it up $120! It’s the 7840HS with the GTX4050. Now I ordered another 8G 5600MT SODIMM and a fast NVME gen4 storage to fill the spare slots. I think the LOQ got dised by influences because it shipped without dual channel ram. I was looking for thin and light, but I already have an M1 MBA for that purpose. PRICE first!
the only aspect with batterly life that comes to mind is being a student and wanting to limit your carry/weight/bag footprint TBH...and well most students that also want to game...are willing to make compromises......theyll consider bringing a type c charging brick...or a plug-able type c portable charger and sit near an outlet etc...if necessary and on a tight budget...theyll adapt/overcome XD....but TBH if you set the screen to 60hz/automatic when unplugged and lower brightness for some note/taking building a study guide off a lecture or etc...some 3d/modeling design or engineering majors....they can still get good use out of a laptop/battery with a mux and a brick to charge/sustain over a course of early college when theyre enduring many class/hours etc. OFC at home or etc at the apt/dorm etc they can have a dedicated desk/workstation to charge and external monitor etc to maximize their systems viability. PPL act like 10 years ago the majority of students didnt have to be plugged in using laptops etc frankly...and a system like this on a budget is no exception to the POTENTIAL value and viability to someone that wants a laptop that can also game to enjoy their free time on a tight/limiited budget Or have to settle for some kind of thin/n light ultrabook or a macbook + a console for gaming at home. TBH even gaming portables are pretty interesting since you can use an e-gpu enclosure for at home/monitor/tv needs...(opposed to an ipad+ keyboard from a cost/range standpoint)and still have a mini/portable pc for lighter workloads like jotting down notes or using some cloud/based suites etc for school+ its storage viability. Possibly a plug/in foldable keybaord just for those school/tasks then boom the "mandatory" station for larger workloads and gaming. I mean engineering and design majors do benefit from a beefier system no doubt...typically going to an apple M chip these days...but for ppl that want to game....the LOQ/nitro/victus still offer a good budget/value for those that TRULY need it. I mean if i lived in an urban area, took public transit was a working student...id have to lean more towards a thin n light that i would just charge my brick/during class and periodically type-c charge the laptop when travling in my bag or at work etc...just to maximize portability and everyday carry/footprint. But i would invest towards a lighter setup from a QOL standpoint...or go with a non gaming laptop out of budget/constraints and priority to weight/savings and battery life.
I ordered this laptop with same specs but with more ssd. The reason I don’t care is because I wont be existing where there are no power outlets. Yes it is nice to have more battery life, but those laptops that given considerable battery life (and have higher screen resolutions) cost several hundred dollars more. I want to use it at several places, but I have power outlets and external monitors there. So I have to critique your title as too click baity.
Bro please can you give me your insta ID so we can talk about the laptop I really need some suggestions from you if you have this laptop already please respond
Worrying about battery life in a laptop that's supposed to be used for gaming and not really all that portable is kind of like worrying about your SUV being good enough for hardcore off-roading when you're literally never going to do any off-road because you live in a downtown area. Also, kind of annoying at this point to call anything above 500 USD "low tier". How long until you start refering to 2000 USD laptops as "budget"? That said, this one is a bit pricy for what it is. I love those thermals for sure. They got that right, and plenty of gaming laptops don't get anywhere near those metrics, even with lower specs.
Wrong example. If you have a sports car, obviously it goes fast but you still expect it to run a certain distance before having to refill it... If every 20km it has to be refilled, its not a car really since the main use of the car is to travel long distances. The main purpose of a laptop is to be able to use it away from the wall. The longer the better
@@TheAmanor123 That's how you use your laptop. I use mine to go on vacation or to play at a LAN party, in that way I can deal with the bulk of it. Since it's a gaming-ish one, it's not really that portable and of course it's battery life is decent but nothing off the charts. I don't expect it to be because it's not what I expect from it. Your sports car comparison makes absolutely no sense by the way.
For anyone who was thinking to buy but after this video is reluctant let me assist you all.. this is best laptop for gaming at this price point if your budget is higher then no question you can have whichever you want but for the price normally a gamer would not game unplugged and still it gives 3 hour battery life at 60 whr battery ...and similar graphics with intell 12450h also last the same on battery despite having igpu so chill and i have used this laptop the thermals are actually really good cpu usage never go above 60 percent and gpu temp always below 70 degrees so for long term its a good point to consider.
Absolutely agree with you. I have been using it for 3 weeks now and I am surpised with gaming performance but also on how quiet and smooth it is when on balanced mode. We should always compare apples to apples: this is a budget gaming laptop not a pro and in its price range there are barely one or two alternatives to compare with.
My personal experience with AMD is superb after roughly 2 months of intensive use. I think the entire point of the video is off. The only limitations I came across with this configuration (7435 and RTX 4060) are low lugg when in Ray tracing mode and mediocre speakers. Probably similar experience with i5 minus the bricked motherboard scare that is associated with loq machines and intel cpus. If battery life is that important you should compare the 2.5 hrs autonomy here with probably a maximum of 4 hrs with intel. It's up to someone's priorities with a bulky gaming laptop
I have a laptop i9 from a few years ago, the integrated graphics failed and was creating crazy glitches, lucky I figured out the problem and use the laptop permanently on discrete graphics without any problems.
I am one of those here who have actually bought it. I made a conscious choice of sacrificing battery life for performance being on a tight budget. The title of the video is a bit of a let-down for us owners, but you actually point some of its merits through your review. My experience with the machine confirms your data. So I think a fair presentation would be to place the product in a "value for money" context. At least in Greece I couldn't find a more attractive option (including 3 years warantee and xbox ultimate pass for 3 months!) But yes, potential buyers should be warned about the limitations in autonomy.

True what Jarrod said. I just bought this laptop (infact I watched this video on it) and while the gaming performance is expected from 4060, the battery life is pretty bad. To workaround it, I always use battery saver mode when i'm using for office works which can last me for 4 - 6 hour and that is enough for me. I don't think there's any reason to ever play games without it plugged on a laptop IMO.
@@JarrodsTech For a gaming laptop? I think people who cared about sitting without a cord are getting thin and lights. People buying a gaming laptop I don't suspect are ever going to be 3 hours away from an outlet
You don't buy gaming laptops for battery life. You buy them because they have kickass graphics cards! I just bought the Lenovo LOQ Ryzen 5 version of this laptop, and it is awesome! If you look at the internals, there was a lot of very cool engineering involved. The rear cooling exhaust is nice, because it doesn't burn my legs. You can switch between performance modes with one key press. In "quiet mode", it uses about 40 watts when not gaming, and 60-80 watts when gaming. Performance mode uses more power and the fans run louder. The Geekbench CPU scores for my Ryzen 5 are about the same as a Ryzen 7 with integrated graphics, and the GPU scores are four times as high. The color accuracy is also much better than on other laptop screens. I would definitely buy this laptop again, and I would also buy the Ryzen 7 that's in this video.
At the time of this comment, among LOQ laptops, these AMD variants without iGPU might be the best option. The 7000 series variants with iGPU are all out of stock, the 8000 series variants are just too expensive, and the Intel variants have a high risk of motherboards dying (one guy on reddit had 5 mobo replacements). Almost feels like Lenovo created this situation on purpose
i have a intel 13700H + RTX4079 i tried disabling integrated graphics and test battery.. it has barely any different maybe 5% more at best.. so i disabled it and always runs on dgpu only mode. that way i have access to nvidia gsync and other options all the time as well. so for me this not having integrated is not an issue
Cpu is old but as long as it does not bottleneck the 4060, I see no problem with this laptop.. this is the cheapest 4060 laptop as well.. like way way cheaper..
I saw this video yesterday and I still bought this exact model today 😊 I'm gonna be plugged in all the time anyway and $799 for a 4060 Laptop is pretty epic. I was gonna get a 4050 model until I saw this price. Great video with good information!
By their own "Ryzen 7000" mobile naming graph the 7435HS should be a Ryzen 3 even though no H or HS Ryzen CPU is a Ryzen 3 It being a 16 thread chip that has a model name below the 12 thread 7535HS doesn't help either Don't get me started on the "Ryzen 5 *7235HS* "
On the upside... not need for mux This is also why im thinking about getting a pre owned laptop off ebay instead of official retailers. Models in AU just suck
It's a shame au gets the short stick when it comes to technology. Before samsung s24 all previous models were exynos which sucked. Internet speeds aren't great and now laptop cpu just aren't good
Don't know much about computers, but after watching your videos extensively I just bought a Lenovo Loq 15 with Ryzen 7 PRO 7840HS CPU and RTX 4060, hope its a good computer and I can play ETS2 and ATS on ultra graphics :) keep up the good work man & congrats on 700k!
When I saw this online I thought the CPU name was a typo. I wouldn't necessarily avoid this for my use case as I mostly use gaming laptops as a desktop replacement that, if I really needed to, I can just disconnect and pack without the clunkiness of SFF + portable monitor that would sit even lower on the table. That said...how many people would actually get this knowingly? While a lot more people than you'd think need the battery more as a back up power (to save and shut down) or for short busts of working away from the wall, I imagine most people buying gaming laptops as desktop replacements that totally won't care about the battery life are way more likely to get a bigger laptop than a Loq not just for the screen but for the cooling and performance. If this was 2018 or so they'll just put this CPU in a bigger chassis and call it a day, but when you've got 16cores in a G17 or even more (albeit due to eCores) on a Scar18 or a Titan, couldn't they have just marketed this CPU to, say, MinisForum? I'd take this in a miniPC with a dGPU, or that mITX board with a laptop CPU that just needs a regular 120mm fan and the built-in cooler to stay cool (at the very least you wouldn't need to go digging online what top-down cooler fits on what motherboard depending on RAM - not like a desktop CPU in such an SFF build will sustain 5.0ghz+ all core anyway).
Sorry mate but I think on this occasion, you're DEAD WRONG!! I've used all my gaming laptops almost exclusively for gaming whilst plugged into a wall socket. I have zero use for an iGPU. If I want to look at the internet or watch The Boys, I'll do it either on my phone or the TV. And this LOQ 15 has one humongous advantage over other gaming laptops...its price! I paid £700 ($US 900) for mine which is already cheap. Had I waited another 4 weeks, I could have picked it up for £622 ($US 800). I don't care if I'm in a minority of one but I absolutely applaud Lenovo & AMD for bringing this ultra cheap but very capable gaming laptop to the market. I predict it will sell like hot cakes despite your 'avoid' recommendation.
Hi there. I owe this one too and I am surprised by its performance and value. I am also surprised by the torrent of negative feedback this machine attracts by "experts"! Anyway. Today I came across an offer in my local market with a victus model carrying 7840hs and rtx 4070 for the same money I paid for the loq. I was initially disappointed thinking I rushed into buying the loq but doing some research I found out that same games perform better in my (our) machine than in the victus with better specs. For example plaguentale requiem reaches 95 fps on youtube videos with the victus 4070 whereas i get 115fps easily, same settings. My idea? I would appreciate your opinion on this. Ty

That model isn't available in the UK but I found it in France for the eye watering price of €2,850 ($US 3,100)! Here you can get the Victus with a 4060 for £899 but that comes with a crappy i5-12500H & a 250 nit screen...and that's STILL £200 more than I paid for my LOQ. Under normal circumstances, I'd say if you can get a 4070 Victus for $US 900, then go for it but TBH, it sounds way too good to be true. Here in the UK it was about £200 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 8845HS version last week and cheaper than the Intel ARC version, so ordered it for £645 with RTX 4060 and 1TB drive. There doesn't seem to be anything close in price here with an RTX 4060 and although the screen isn't that bright at least the sRGB coverage is decent, better than the some of the other lower budget systems. For this price I think the lack of iGPU compromise is fine, although worth warning people about it.

Any of these 7000 series arent great anyways but for totally different reason and that is that they have only 16mb l3 cache and so are worse than deskt0p 5000 series.
@@filippetrovic845 he said its bad for people who use the laptop on battery, if you don't then you are not targeted , and it's good for you actually its bad, since there are other laptops with a 7840hs with better cpu performance and an igpu and for cheaper, so why would you get the worse cpu anyway
That first chart highlighting the huge difference in battery life between the 7435HS & other CPUs only applies if you're watching cat videos on UA-cam. If you take those lines away & compare battery life whilst playing The Witcher 3, then it paints a very different picture indeed. The LOQ lasts 103 minutes on battery which is more or less what ALL the laptops last! And there's the rub...this is a GAMING LAPTOP who's prime function is playing games. If your focus is watching UA-cam on a long distance flight to Oz, just buy a dirt cheap Chromebook!
Because of pricing and availability here, this was the one laptop I could get for a decent price compared to overseas pricing. Since I mostly use it plugged in as a sort of desktop away from home or for very light and brief workloads unplugged, it's fine for me. I see a lot of the comments making this seem a lot worse than it actually is despite the review itself not being that negative.
I would go with a laptop like this but is there any difference in thermals/fan noise when compared to laptops with integrated graphics with or without a mux switch? Also is there any meaningful change in battery life with an AMD gpu?
I didn't bother with the full fan recording setup just basic thermals here, but I can't say I noticed or thought about it during testing, didn't seem any louder.
will this laptop last just as long compared to something that does have integrated graphics? i don't mean battery life, just how long it can last for before something breaks when out of warranty
I don't know if lack of iGPU would increase that, I guess depends if the Nvidia graphics are fine to work more than they would normally in most laptops - but given many people leave optimus off all the time anyway, I doubt it's an issue.

@@AlphaNOVA69 well, I did post this about a month I go, I'm pretty sure it was about a laptop and it's battery life and if that's what you're talking about, then you can go and looking at video app and you can change the battery life settings and then you can actually get half decent battery life from your gaming laptop. My comment though not very well worth. It was supposed to say that gamey laptops are not designed as office computers. You're obviously not going to get the best backs your life out of them. And I am guilty of that.. I just spent three and a half thousand pounds on the laptop with two hours. Battery life and well it's my own fault, really? Because I'm using it for letters and work are for its entangled purpose, which was gaming. You can get better life out of the gaming laptop. You just have to be a bit more clever about it. You have to change the CPU settings to throttle it to like five percent when on battery and you have to do the same with your graphics card in the settings menus of the Nvidia app. It's not a gnarkey comment I was serious don't buy gaming laptops for works. I made that mistake. You're not going to get amazing. The battery life out of it. And well, that's just the way they are. And that's what annoyed me about the video.
btw , i got the HP Victus 16 , it's also very poor battery life , just 2 hours office work , 60% battery life gone . the LCD also very worst compare to other 45% NTSC panel .
Might as well save money on the 7840HS if it's available for less money, almost the same thing in terms of performance shown in this video with the Legions.
Hoping I'm not commenting too late for you to see, but I am currently stuck between an ASUS TUF A15 2021 vs 2023 model. The former only has a 48 Wh battery which would mean low battery life, and the 2023 model comes with a 90 Wh battery, but includes the Ryzen 7 7435HS. For me, the longevity of my laptop comes ahead of performance, so I'm stuck wondering which one would have a longer battery life, and which one is more likely to last longer in general. I would appreciate it immensely if I could get an answer.
If you're buying a gaming laptop, it doesn't really matter if it has an igpu or not, because these laptops typically offer a maximum of 3 to 4 hours of battery life. gaming laptops are meant to be used while plugged in
@@gamingwarrior3108 tbf though a good gaming laptop nowadays can get up to like 6+ hours of battery life (ie; laptops with higher tier Ryzen chips), yes you usually plugged it in for gaming but some people also used their gaming laptop for their workflow and such
Not available in my country, they've never gotten in contact with us, they're just rebranded Clevo or Tongfang laptops same as what we cover from XMG just with a different name.
I should have talked more about the naming scheme, because this is a perfect point - the 7535HS has fewer cores and threads, so it's actually a lower tier part as far as raw CPU performance goes, but it has an iGPU and has a higher number than the 7435HS, so people may just assume it's better in every way.
I have this processor in my LOQ, it also has RTX 4050 with 6gb vram and 24gb ram. Works just fine for my usage wich is playing World of Warcraft usually plugged to external monitor or plugged to a power outlet while traveling longer periods of time.

This is just a desperate attempt from AMD to compete on the low-price segment with Intel. Pretty pointless if you ask me. I bet this will be discontinued within 6 months.
@@Ararion The 2023 models with qhd screens do have 100 percent sRGB. The one which Jarrod got also had that but yes most 2023 loqs don't which is why I personally went for acer nitro 16
Jarrod don't feel bad about the snarkey comments. Your review is valid and gave me information that I needed. I'm looking for an everyday laptop that can second as an occasional gamer. This laptop here would not be for me. I want the internal gpu. Thanks for the review! I think it's a bit underhanded by Lenovo to not make it more clear on this model. Some are going to be disappointed.
Good day. I would like to inquire about the integrated graphics capabilities of the Lenovo LOQ 15AHP9 laptop equipped with the AMD Ryzen™ 7 8845HS Processor. Kindly provide me with the relevant specifications and confirm if the device indeed features integrated graphics. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
I bought my Lenovo Legion with its Nvidia 2060 GPU in September 2020. I only ever used it for gaming whilst it was plugged into a wall socket, so for 99% of the time, the iGPU was redundant & the dGPU did all the heavy lifting. Over the passing years, that laptop saw A LOT of use...and 4 years later, it's still working perfectly. All this talk about laptops lacking an iGPU failing prematurely is a load of old twaddle! However, whilst the Legion is as fast now as when I first bought it, it struggled to keep up with modern, AAA games, particularly The Last Of Us (brilliant game, buy it!). Which is why I recently bought myself a LOQ 15 with the 7435HS & the 4060...and honestly, for what I paid for it, it's brilliant!!
A thing to take notice, any laptop after 3 or 4 years will have its battery life very reduced...and only crazy people play games in laptops outside home(or the place you are staying) so its a no issue.
Of course, but we won't see it until next year, and then decent prices and availability will be months after launch, so depends if you want to actually use something anytime soon. 4080 should still offer excellent performance for years.
so far we only have rumors and most of those are on the desktop side. I do like the g16, but would probably ait till then. When we know more about the gpu and vendors are clearing out space and lowering prices more it might be a smart buy
4080 was such a huge leap for laptop gaming it can play things so well and now with dlss and frame generation on top of it I wouldn't worry about missing out. It's almost like a 3090 desktop gpu in a laptop which is crazy and 8-12 months waiting for the new laptops is a really long time you could be gaming so up to you.
anything is better than intel i9-14900HX. That cpu is unstable AF. I needed to disable my optimus to prevent my G16 Rog Strix from Blue screening all the time. I don't really care about battery life tbh. I don't ever game without plugging the laptop in and the Battery is only important to get the needed time to properly turn the laptop off if the power grid goes out.
No, this laptop is amazing. Who uses gaming laptops on battery when they are specifically designed to be used while plugged in? Gaming laptop batteries are not made for long-term use without being plugged in; they are only meant to be used in emergencies. Another plus point is that when a laptop doesn't have an integrated GPU (iGPU), the dedicated GPU (dGPU) directly displays the image on the screen, which significantly improves performance. That's why some high-end laptops have a MUX switch. Also checking prices of all laptops comparing it with also important
I cannot, I don't have any information other than what has been reported in the news recently - which is a mixture of things, Intel apparently saying the issues don't affect mobile, but then some different problem, we will have to wait and see.
I literally came across this CPU in a similar LOQ model and was really surprised to see the cheaper than lower price considering it's just a rebranded 6800H. Now I know why. Thanks Jared. You're the GOAT
I thought this was a thing on intels new meme, where nothing you can do, just wait for the patch in august and hope your thing doesn't crash. either way, it doesn't affect me, my old busted laptop has one purpose and it's to feed my factorio addiction.
I wonder if that patch will go out for laptop cpu's since they said they aren't affected... at least that's kinda good news something is being done and addressed and may totally fix it instead of everything being up in the air with nothing said lol.
Yeah that's not really the point, I agree gaming on battery power is dumb (though people do it), it's more about using the battery for other tasks, like just watching a movie or going to school/work etc.
The whole point of a laptop may be about portability, but its not always about the battery... This works perfect for people (like me) who want good laptops, but never care what the battery is like. I always leave the MUX switch on nvidia only on my current laptop, and its great.
I guess because it's better than wasting the chips, might as well try use them for something. The only issue I have with it is unless you know what a 7435HS is, you'd probably just buy it without knowing the limit of no iGPU.
As someone who has a Zephyrus g14 with a 6900hs I value my battery It last me 7-10 hours for normal school work and I charge it twice a week And when I'm gaming I can just plug it and lock at 60% It's really handy
Hmm, the 7535HS has a higher number but it's actually a weaker performing part with 6 cores / 12 threads - BUT it has integrated graphics, so better battery life - depends which of those is your priority.
In India🇮🇳, Dell G15 Ryzen 7 7840HS 16GB DDR5 165Hz 512Gb is INR 1,08,890/- which is USD 1300.61$ and Lenovo LOQ R7 7435HS 24GB DDR5 144Hz 512Gb is INR 86,990/- which is USD 1039.07$ I should probably go with the LOQ😅
I mean, the biggest problem here is nVidia GPU's and their awful power consumption on battery, I get it, no iGPU no excuses, but seriously, nVidia no excuses either.

To be fair, with laptops like this, battery life is expected to be poor, even with ones with integrated graphics. People who buy gaming laptops usually plug it in most of the time to utilize the performance. The main feature of them is the simple portability of the system compared to that of a desktop.
Fair point that battery life is abysmal, but the intended audience of them shouldn't care too much
My RTX 3060 with an core i7 10870h has the same poor battery life (it is just a gaming notebook).
If it's significantly cheaper, then I wouldn't mind.
Who actually plays on battery?

What about Intel 13 and 14 gen problem, why there is no video from you specialy if laptops are also affected
Intel 13 and 14 gen mobile are not affected, only desktop cpu versions have problems
Ty
@@loukasbalomenos2600 I am really surprised you can get that particular HP Victus for the same money.
The lower FPS says to me they mean the 4050 & the 4070 is a typo!

That first chart highlighting the huge difference in battery life between the 7435HS & other CPUs only applies if you're watching cat videos on UA-cam. Since I mostly use it plugged in as a sort of desktop away from home or for very light and brief workloads unplugged, it's fine for me. I see a lot of the comments making this seem a lot worse than it actually is despite the review itself not being that negative.
It's a fine choice if battery life isn't a priority.

Is there any worry that the 4060's life could be lowered by being always in use?
Lemme second this, i wanna know too
I bought my Lenovo Legion with its Nvidia 2060 GPU in September 2020.
Which is why I recently bought myself a LOQ 15 with the 7435HS & the 4060...and honestly, for what I paid for it, it's brilliant!!

anything is better than intel i9-14900HX.
Will you review Ryzen AI 9 vs Intel Core Ultra?
Maybe, depends what laptops we're able to get.
Dude can u confirm if the intel chip high failure rate thingy for PC effect mobile processors as well?
I cannot, I don't have any information other than what has been reported in the news recently - which is a mixture of things, Intel apparently saying the issues don't affect mobile, but then some different problem, we will have to wait and see.
I literally came across this CPU in a similar LOQ model and was really surprised to see the cheaper than lower price considering it's just a rebranded 6800H. Now I know why.
Thanks Jared. You're the GOAT
Happy to help!
I thought this was a thing on intels new meme, where nothing you can do, just wait for the patch in august and hope your thing doesn't crash. either way, it doesn't affect me, my old busted laptop has one purpose and it's to feed my factorio addiction.
Yeah I was wondering if it might get confused with that, I'll think about a new title and maybe add in the "7435HS" somewhere.
I wonder if that patch will go out for laptop cpu's since they said they aren't affected... at least that's kinda good news something is being done and addressed and may totally fix it instead of everything being up in the air with nothing said lol.
@@WaterspoutsOfTheDeeplaptops definitely are affected especially loqs with 13th and 14th gen hx processors. Check-out loq subreddit
Just got this laptop with RTX 4070 for 950 euro. Can't find anything similar close to this price so for me it was worth it.
I almost never use my gaming laptop without plugging it in. I mean who the hell is gaming on battery power. Not a big deal for gamers.
Yeah that's not really the point, I agree gaming on battery power is dumb (though people do it), it's more about using the battery for other tasks, like just watching a movie or going to school/work etc.
Such a GOOD review! I still think I might buy it! Thanks for all the charts and benchmarks!

The whole point of a laptop may be about portability, but its not always about the battery... This works perfect for people (like me) who want good laptops, but never care what the battery is like. I always leave the MUX switch on nvidia only on my current laptop, and its great.
Why would AMD even do this to a laptop? Damn this sucks! They should give us a 200 Wh battery to make up for the lack of integrated graphics.
its not legal on a plane so they wont.
I guess because it's better than wasting the chips, might as well try use them for something. The only issue I have with it is unless you know what a 7435HS is, you'd probably just buy it without knowing the limit of no iGPU.
AMD has been lying since the release of zen on laptops. And they do it because people buy these devices and continue to do so while defending AMD.
@@JarrodsTech Wait, don't you also have a problem of AMD selling a 2 gen old chip under the ryzen 7000 naming? Thats a pretty big problem.
AMD has nothing to do with the laptop design and manufacturing. In this case, Lenovo ordered and assembled the parts.
I got the same because it was way cheaper than the other and honestly even with better CPU I'm still using it with cable all the time

And when I'm gaming I can just plug it and lock at 60%

I was gonna buy the Asus A15 with ryzen 5 7435HS and rtx 3050.should I buy the one with ryzen 5 7535HS. They’re about the same price.
Hmm, the 7535HS has a higher number but it's actually a weaker performing part with 6 cores / 12 threads - BUT it has integrated graphics, so better battery life - depends which of those is your priority.
In India🇮🇳,
Dell G15 Ryzen 7 7840HS 16GB DDR5 165Hz 512Gb
is INR 1,08,890/- which is USD 1300.61$
and
Lenovo LOQ R7 7435HS 24GB DDR5 144Hz 512Gb

Now question, how often you running ur laptop on the battery?
who cares about battery life for gaming laptops.
Still want you to also test n-key rollover during keyboard testing part.
Don't really know how to properly test it apart from mash the keyboard as much as I can at once 😅
You can test if it register all the keys that you hold down, that should be enough imo
You can google "keyboard ghosting test" and it will show some sites that can list how many keys can be register at once when you hold them down
Glad you mentioned it, because I was sick of explaining it to other people shouting: “Look at the price!”.
