    These videos are absolutely incredible! As someone who grew up painting pre-youtube, with only the Eavy Metal box art to go on, watching how it's done by one of the team is a borderline religious experience haha.

    I really like how your videos really demystify the process by which such great results are achieved. It doesn't make it easy but it's something I can understand and therefore work towards.
    I wouldn't paint an army like this (too long) but I would use this on a display piece (I'm actually working on a Lord of Plagues using this scheme).

    Thanks for the video! I’m always amazed by how neat and clean you can paint! Mind me asking what brush you use, I like the look of the shorter more triangular brush end, reminds me of the army painter brushes and I love their shape but they’re synthetic and I haven’t found natural hair in the same sort of shape.

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  2 роки тому +2

      Yes so those stumpy ones are the W&N Series 7 "Miniature" , they are shorter and have a nice point for edge highlights but they might take a bit of using before the brush tip is broken in. My advice is to buy a size larger than you would usually. I think It was a normal 00 and a miniature 1 I use mostly for the highlights here.

    After seeing another video I believe Death Guard Green is a name change for Deathworld Forest. So, the actual boxart uses 50% Death Guard Green and 50% Nurgling Green? That makes sense as they look quite bright.

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  2 роки тому +1

      Deathguard Green was only released after the Deathguard were released. Deathworld forest is still available now. The original mix that we used was 50/50 Deathworld Forest and Nurgling Green. Hope this helps.

    Keep up the good work!

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I only painted one model for the Harlequins - the death jester so I avoided having to do too much freehand! The way I would approach the diamonds is to draw a grid across the whole area first and then fill in every other diamond with the second colour and then cut back into it and tidy with the base coat. Sadly I don't think there's any quick methods to do it like the studio ones, its just a lot of patience and brush control. Maybe I will be able to make a video on it one day.

    I have a question - the studio obviously gives us a different paint guide and paint scheme to what is used here? Do they often follow the paints they give us or is that completely different?

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  2 роки тому

      If you are referring to the paint guide on the back of the box it is just a rough approximation and not really intended to match the box cover completely. I think firstly because it would include far too many paints to list there. Secondly because the studio painters are painting to (generally speaking) a higher level than the majority of hobbyists and that might mean not being limited by following a strict formula the way that citadel promotes their products to be used i.e. base >shade > layer etc.

    Simply amazing!
    If you don't mind, I recently started the hobby and wanted to how do you later assemble the figure since you're using sub-assembly for painting. Do you use super glue or scrape off the paint somehow and later just glue them?

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  2 роки тому

      Hello. I carefully drill into an unseen area with a hobby drill or "pin vice" with a 0.8 or 1mm drill bit. I cut a paperclip to size and push this into the hole and then into a champagne cork. If I use superglue then I use a tiny amount just to hold the paperclip in place. Then once the part is painted you can glue as normal with superglue or plastic glue. Plastic glue should melt through the primer (as I only a apply a thin layer of primer) if the primer is thick you can scratch the contact area slightly
