Just made this dish but had to improvised as ground lamb nor Roa tomato sauce are available in my local market. So, I used 1 lb of ground pork in place of the lamb and a marinara sauce. After all was done it was a little bland so I sprinkled Italian seasoning and a little pink salt all over the top then put it back in the oven for 10 minutes. That's all it needed, really good! Thanks for sharing.

Except you can't get this in an Italian restaurant. They use bread crumbs. They use their own sauce. So I get what you are saying about your friends wanting Italian food when you are out but if you are with them, you can't eat this in the restaurant. It does look delicious! I will make this at home for sure. Thanks!

Just an FYI, tomato products will strip the seasoning in your cast iron. Cast iron should never be used for high acid foods.
