Top effort to both yourself and Ferggie mate. Going out even when the weather is 'balls wet', is what its all about. Cheers for sharing
Thank you for sharing.
Your welcome thanks for watching
Nice shelter, ideal to go with friend. I need one too.
Hawthorne...I concur....! Great video as per👍real huckleberry Finn UK.,☔👍
Also just had quite a storm in NZ with a life lost from a large tree falling on a car, luckily only got the edge of the wind and rain here in land as the storm tracked down the coast. Liked the video. All the best for 2018
Love seeing shelters in a storm...shows you what works and what dosen't. Too fun!
Loved it!
Wyoming winds. Well done John!
I just wanted to say I do appreciate your video it's very nice to watch a true video I have another video person I follow on Bushcraft Joe robinet and I like his videos y'all have very good taste I can let my children's grandkids watch your videos with no problem please keep up the good work I just wanted to tell you I do appreciate it and thank you very much for having a good wholesome video that the whole family can watch thank you
Suggestion: Find ur self a 50 gallon steel barrel.. Used Ofcourse..Get it cut in half..make 4 holes..2 on top and 2 at the bottom ..quarter of an inch wide holes and 3 inches apart....add 4 steel poles crisscross into the top and bottom holes, poles need to be 4 feel long and tough enough to be able to hold the barrels weight.. Steel hammer the middle part..enough to place a coffee pot or a frying pan..place the barrel on ur fire pit at the camp.. It will be both..good as a fire protector and keep u radiated at night and I think u can even cook on the flat surface..since its steel.
Thank you for the uploads.
God bless
Unfortunately i'm late for an appointment but because I just know that this is going to be great I'm gonna do what I always do on your vids and give a thumbs up before I even watch it! Take care. Atb. Steve

Sure would love going camping with you
Storm camping is always a good time!
Nice video chaps, the kiln looked like it came into its own for containing the fire when the wind got up.
Yeah it worked well thanks for watching
woot. thanks for another video... look forward to the next
A bit wet but great to see you at the village, this work lark is interfering with the camping videos and that streaky bacon smelled so good stay safe from Scotland
I think you should invite Zed from the "Zed Outdoors" UA-cam channel to your village - you both have such different personalities that I think it would make an epic video!
The unidentified log on the fire is willow 👍
Another year with out camp bread 🍞? I have weathered some storms and I welcome the cooler weather rather than the tropical storms. I worked north and south on the Australian continent, we were very shocked to see that in Tasmania it was 32 Celsius and then snowing 2 hrs later!! Do you plan on some other locations? Bye for now.
Brilliant video John. Storm camping is great I'm going hammock camping with my wife and son this weekend or next weekend to the peak District or Lake District
Cool thanks for watching and ejoy your camp
Ace watching...Wow you guys have an awesome camp!!!! Subbed👍
Atvb
Mike
Looks like our " Canadian Bacon""
nice
Nice to see you John😉 Great video
dryer lint, use with your Flint. Easy to carry compact, highly flammable.
Hope you read this lad & hope it helps.

"Just got my Panasonic SD60 and generally pleased but it suffers from wind noise.
My old Sony DCR-HC37 was the same.
Now for an external microphone you put a fluffy sock over it to cut down or eliminate wind noise.
Has anyone tried taping a bit of material e.g thin foam (or even a piece of fluffy sock) over the built in microphone to cut down wind noise?
Cheers
yeah, i did this with my old sd10, i made a flat deadcat,i stuck it on with double sided tape, it definetly helped."
Subbed though been watching for a while. So jealous of you being able to have that setup, even in that weather! Nice one
the kiln is coming along nicely. . even though the weather was crap , it looked like y'all ate well ( as usual ) and slept warm enough. . Best wishes in 2018 :-)
Great time!
Credit where credit is due mate , always a great watch .
OMG YOU GUYS!! LOL.....LOVE IT!!
Hahaha thanks for watching
I only come for the food !👍
Great fun. I prefer winter camping. Screw mosquitoes and midges.
Love winter camping it’s my favourite season
Did I hear cars early on? I’ve never heard cars in village videos before?
2 points in fire lighting (practice in dry conditions it always allot more forgiving then move on to wet cold moist )
1# your bark would have had moisture in it because of the rainy conditions dry it, warm it ,first by the fire
2 #blow softer no need to blow char cloth if dry it will not go out only gentle long blows when wrapped in you tinder a big hand full is needed it must also be totally dry good luck John you will get it use the force ...sorry that’s 3 points Cheers
PS you would of had fire both of you in dry condition
Happy new year from Thailand
Hey, Build a debris tree house. Thanks Ron ,Alabama, US
Got to keep busy when it's raining, eh mr. Potter
the tree stump was deffo oak mate... keep the grain and bark in mind for next time
👋😁
Always look forward to your vids, especially the debris village ones! Couldnt you rig up your hammocks under the shelters either side of the fire so your off the ground?
What no roast this time!!
To reduce those high winds, get someone to turn off those dirty great fans that I saw on the horizon!
we have a storm right now in Maine USA snowing and wind and suppose to be a bomb clyclone.
I wondered when you would be out again, nothing like a storm for a bit of motivation 😂
We just went threw -20 below zero weather hear in missouri located in america
Nice I never get to that cold often I envy you thanks for watching
carlisle195 i envy you. You inspire me every year when i build my shelters.
I’m happy you enjoy watching
carlisle195 i came from an old fashioned family we did everything the old way. Anyways we made maple syrup. When i was a little girl id help collect sap then id go and find a spot to build a fort well i guess i still like doing that.
Happy New Year Mate!

Hi mate quick question,
How far are your camps from your house?
All the best.
Do you have any other area that you like to camp?
Looked like cottonwood
Yes, I would say that's more than a half a tree...🤣🤣🤣
Come back john 😆👍
Did you do or have any more plans with the clay tiles ??? Found that veru interesting
Yes we do but it’s hard in winter but we will get back to it soon
carlisle195 yep hard in winter in Ireland too ...... looking forward to it lost track of the order of ya vids are ya planing on putting clay tiles in the 2 story debris shelter
Elm maybe?
Bacon should be compulsory
Im doin my 1st overnighter soon in a huge cave solo bikepacking so ive been watching this chanel for a few tips. Can you or anyone in the comments reccomend a lightweight sleeping bag for spring pls?..
UK Adventure Cycling aegismax ?
Cool enjoy your camp I don’t do lightweight kit
carlisle195 mwemwe mwe it's my knees.. ..they made me..
No worries. Im after lightweight because its a 40mile round trip. Google Thors cave, its epic!. Thanks, Phil.
That's an understatement!
First
How's the straw hut
It’s doing good
carlisle195 its a strong little hut
the stump you put on the fire was oak
Cool thanks for the info
Looks like cottonwood
Joel McKinney yea I’m from Sweden so I just thought it looked like oak
Didn't look like oak to me, more like hickory
Oak that
Couple questions mate , do you regret building so big ? And do you get enough heat from the kiln seems like a lot could be lost as the thick sides send the heat up top
I don’t use the kiln for heat I have a big fire pit in the middle for that but the stone and clay heats up loads but nothing like the best output of a long log fire burning and no I don’t regret building big it was a lot bigger in the summer but I shrinks it down for winter
Thumbs up!
Thanks
A bit breezy.
lord of the rings.
New camera?
Yeah
carlisle195 feels like I'm there!!
Im only joking so dont take this too seriously , But your kiln is starting to look like the tower of mordorph.
If I win the lottery I'm gonna build a Hoilday Inn Near you and give you 10 no 20% off. 😭
Hahaha nice one
That limb is oak buddy
Ash ?
that`s what I was thinking, or maybe poplar ???
