    I made it just like Martha did. It was really, really good. The basil in the pot as well as the torn pieces and the Parmesan cheese on the finished dish added more layers of flavor. Try it. You'll be glad you did.

    I like to mix up my one-pot-pastas with whatever is or isn’t available in my fridge or cupboards. Some days I’ll add bacon, other days sausages, even some chicken stock and cream, etc.. Martha, your one-pit-pasta creation is so versatile! My husband loves it!

    Has anyone noticed how much younger, softer and more radiant Martha's completion is, doing these home videos? Thinking studio make up artist have gotten into a rut. Touch eye make up, and dark heavy colors. Martha looks to me the best she has looked in a decade or more. Youthful and soft. Love what you aren't putting on your face Martha.

    I would use thin rice pasta instead of wheat. Chicken stock sounds wonderful. The old fashion "Gramma's One pot" uses a jar of pasta sauce. But, I have to try Martha's right now. Love seeing Martha when ever I wish.

    i've made this twice and if you want something that tastes good, you'll make pasta like you're supposed to which isn't any more effort than making this. cooking it all together like that and leaving all that pasta water in there makes it taste so awful and makes you feel sick after you eat it.

  • @anna_med
    @anna_med 4 роки тому +29

    Ok, i also make my pasta in a pan - it's great way to do it. But the onion in her recipe is useless the way she does it. You need to first saute the onions in the pan in a bit of oil until they are golden brown, and only than add the rest of the ingredients (tomatoes, pasta, water, etc.)
    Trust me, you'll thank me if you do it this way.

    • @nm9412
      @nm9412 4 роки тому +1

      Anna M. I was thinking the same that those onions without frying or sauté’ing them are flavorless.

    • @anna_med
      @anna_med 4 роки тому +5

      @@nm9412 yeah, basically i saute everything first: onions then garlic, i also add bell pepper - also need a bit of frying, then i add the tomatoes on a low heat, and only after a few minutes i add the pasta and the water and the spices. A lot more flavorful this way.

    • @milkshake3350
      @milkshake3350 4 роки тому

      Agree, saute everything but the pasta ( obviously ) for a better flavour. I couldn't put those beautiful onions and garlic straight into water like that.

      @Godhelpus62 4 роки тому +2

      I thought about that too. Just a light saute in a bit of olive oil will release the flavors and help make the oil and the pasta more flavorful. They don’t have to be translucent - in fact I’d recommend against cooking them that much; just softened.

  • @tdgvl
    @tdgvl 4 роки тому +2

    The onion 🧅-ness of “uncooked”, boiled onion and the garlic 🧄-ness of boiled garlic will overpower every other flavor and will make this dish very heavy to smell, eat and digest.

  • @susanmarr7662
    @susanmarr7662 4 роки тому

    I mostly enjoyed this very simple dish - only problem for me was the tomatoes. Cooked tomatoes really should be dipped in boiling water and peeled - too labor intensive for 12 ounces of cherry tomatoes, but the skin over the cooked tomatoes and pasta is fibrous and unpleasant. If I make this again, I’d add the tomatoes in the last minute or so just to heat them, but not cook them completely. Or I’d use diced, canned tomatoes. An as other commenters have noted, it was a bit starchy and glutinous.
